Damson House were recommended to us as a good vet for rabbits after we had had several poor experiences. We tried them in an emergency and they were brilliant, they got my rabbit through a life threatening episode. That was two years ago and they have been excellent ever since, always fitting us in at short notice if the buns need it. Although it regularly takes us over an hour to get there we are so pleased we now also take our cats to them. Damson House were recommended to me many years ago as specialist Shar Pei vets and they indeed they have been taking great care of not only my pei, but all of my dogs, for 10+ years. All four vets are superb and the most caring professionals I've met - dog ownership is an emotional thing and they've always made me feel informed and confident that my dogs are in safe hands. but more than that, the whole practice is a friendly, well run affair - the vet nurses are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble and you can see they are as invested in your dog's well being as you are - more than once they've been in tears with me... the same (and more!) can be said for the reception team - they always find me an appointment (usually at short notice when one of the dogs has done something daft or is very poorly), they are great about ignoring the billing side of things until later when they can see your mind is focused only on your dog at that moment and they are, without exception, animal lovers and people lovers who understand the importance our pets have in our lives. I find their pricing to be reasonable when compared to other local practices, but when considering the service I receive I think it's actually incredibly good value for money - you can't put a price on peace of mind Read Less

When I called to advise was met with a very much "We don't care, we've had your money attitude" And was invited to pay again to have it done - They didn't do it right the first time I certainly wasn't going to pay them to do it a second time, plus after the vet Simons attitude, I would have no confidence in the service or the results. Very Disappointed. Eye tacks for Shar pei puppies came out after 3 days - leaving the pups unable to open their eyes. When I called to advise was met with a very much "We don't care, we've had your money attitude" And was invited to pay again to have it done - They didn't do it right the first time I certainly wasn't going to pay them to do it a second time, plus after the vet Simons attitude, I would have no confidence in the service or the results. Couldn't be nice enough to me when they were trying to get the business. Showed their true colours and do not care about the animals just the money. Read Less

We had a Shar-pei with lots of health issues over the years. We took him to see 'Uncle Ian' (Ian Strong) from the age of 7 weeks until he passed away at almost 11 years old. Ian always looked after Tao with the upmost care and I would go so far as to say with love. The girls on reception were always friendly and polite. The nursing staff were excellent too. If we ever have another Shar-pei we will not hesitate to take him/her to 'Uncle Ian' again. By the way we used to travel 25 miles to get to Damson House Vets. X Read Less
