Have been a client of this veterinary practice for 15 years now, firstly with cats but now with my two dogs. I rescued a pregnant chihuahua and having had nothing but negative comments from a few other practices I was terrified they'd be the same. Happy to report they were the complete opposite. They could see how anxious I was and never judged or criticised me. The nurses were always willing to help me on the phone and in the surgery and remained professional no matter how many times I rang (sorry). They looked after her and me throughout her c section and even helped advertise the puppies so they found genuine good homes. Mum is now happily spayed and enjoying her retirement. There is no option for zero star or that is what I would give to John Ambler. Took my old standard poodle in with an infected lump. Has already been decided in consultation with other vets at the practice not to be too aggressive with treatment of lump due to his age. John did not bother to take his temerature or clean the wound, he insisted on taking blood from his jugular which took 5 attempts to assess his kidney function which did not need assessing. He attempted to clip the hair around the site with a pair or clippers just picked up off the side and not cleaned before using. He managed to knock the top off the abcess that was underneath, he still didn't clean it, said he had to leave to go to their other practice and I was to ring later for blood test results and would have to go over to Castle Bromwich later to pick up any medicines! I left the practice and immediately went to another vet in Tamworth who checked temperature, found it to be very high, cleaned abcess and administered steroids and antibiotics.
