Do Not use this vets they have got to be the worst veterinary surgery going. My dog has had on going problems with bleeding for over a year this all started in 2017. We took her because of this reason she hasn't been spay and yes thats something I Should have done but she has been fit as a fiddle for over 8 yrs and has never needed any treatment. When taking her we came across two lumps in her leg which were tumor mass cells removed This operation went ok but they has to give her two local antiseptic because when they stitched her up they went through something in her leg which caused her to not stop bleeding she now has a constant limp on that leg. she also had a lump removed under her leg. Over the last year they have let my dog suffer with pyometra - Pyometra is defined as an infection in the uterus. Pyometra is considered a serious and life threatening condition that must be treated quickly and aggressively. I have my dogs history report and a ultra scan was done 14/06/2017 and according to the vets there was nothing seen on scan??? but she was bleeding. We then decided we would get her spay they tried to spay her but couldn't because she wouldn't stop bleeding now i don't know if thats the case or if they didnt want to do it because they had no answers and didn't want to take on the procedure because of her age. They could see there was bacteria on swab but still on her history reports pyometra was never said once only by myself as my previous dog had it and she had similar signs. They gave her treatment for lung worm as they thought it could be that it wasn't that. In my opinion i think they are a rip of surgery who just want your money also don't think much of the customer service rude staff at times. gave medication which wasn't needed. I have now changed vets which by far are the best vets around. Read Less

I called the emergency line for Arthur lodge, and the lovely nurse, Jo, had an out of hours vet, Julian, drive down to look at my little girl. They put her out and cauterised the wound and cleaned her up. They were both so kind and helpful. And it barely cost me anything at all which surprised me. Thank you Jo and Julian Read Less

Absolutely disgusted with out of hours staff. Last night my 14 year old cat took a turn for the worse, possible stroke and was in awful condition. The website said they were open until 8pm so we rushed him there at 7.30pm, got there and it was completely closed, lights off and everything. We called the out of hours vet and explained our situation and panic, we were told it would cost us 100 just for him to be seen (added price for medication etc if needed). My boyfriend, in tears, told the vet he'd have to think about it as we couldnt really afford it (knowing he was likely going to sadly be put to sleep and we only just about had enough money to cover that). The vet then said, in a very blunt and insensitive mannor "well can you let me know because i can take another call instead". No sympathy or care given at all. That was the end of the phone call, as if the situation wasnt traumatizing and stressful enough, this added a lot more upset. Our cat then continued to suffer until 9am the next morning (thats when the vets next opened) we kept him as comfortable as possible and watched over him, he was then taken to sadly be put to rest. Luckily, the day time staff were much more caring and handled the situation with care and professionalism. Read Less

My ferret recently broke his leg and needed to have it amputated. I was devastated. The nurses and vet were so supportive and kind during the whole process and Bubba is so happy and healing so quickly. Our cat also had to be spayed and Maxi was so calm and happy when we collected her and for the days after and everything went so well. Really unhappy with this Practice, we were quoted 320 for an operation to our young dog, when the bill came it had jumped to 450 and then Arhthir Lodge added VAT which brought the bill to a whopping 540. VAT hadn't been mentioned nor were there any signs in or about their office saying that all bills were subject to VAT, when we started to dispute this, debt collectors were set on us, and when we went to another vet, Arthur Lodge wouldn't share any of our three dogs veterinarian records so we had no choice but to pay the bill UNDER DURESS. I am taking action to recover the VAT (which if we were told about wouldn't object to paying) and the gross overcharging by nearly 40%. This is just sharp practice Read Less

A week ago we had the horrendous experience of our 13 week old puppy, Elsa breaking her elbow on her front leg. This happened out of hours and I was in a panic. The out of hours vet, James and veterinary nurse Hazel were extremely helpful and put my mind at ease with Elsa being seen and admitted the same evening. A referral was put to NDSR the next day and thankfully after an operation she is now recovering well. The immediate attention, knowledge and medication given to Elsa in the first few hours was brilliant although we havent yet had the bill. I have since recommended Arthur Lodge to a friend of mine who is having problems with their vet and will continue to do so. Read Less
