I feel sorry having leaving this review as have been coming to Westgate Wakefield branch for years with my German shepherd dogs. I have absolutely nothing but praise for reception staff and vets and nurses however this morning very unhappy with the lady vet from Dewsbury/ Horbury As my dog stressed out including me !!!! And told me come back again as she could not give the injection!!! Yet on my way out a lovely nurse called mollie took us in another room and did the injection straight away ! I will not be seeing this vet again ! Again always been delighted with our care in the past thank you Read Less

If I could give no stars I would! Due to the lack of communication between their staff members, they put our precious girl in communal cremation instead of private!! I was never contacted regarding this and had to call them back 2 weeks later to get an update as to when we would be expecting here to come back home to us in ash form. They only then told me of this unacceptable mistake after inquiring about where she was. Apparently it wasn’t entered correctly into system even after confirming with receptionist twice (once at time of having to put her down and then next day to place the container and badge name order)!! Then to call and offer flowers or even an empty container for their mistake... absolutely disgusting! We looked into our Bella’s eyes to comfort her as she was being put down and reassured her she would still be coming home. I’m sorry we all failed you Bella! They took that from us and just threw you away! Will NEVER trust Calder vets again, and neither should you!!! AVOID! Read Less

We have used Calder vets for nearly 10 years and always been very happy with the care and treatment our dogs have received. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and very professional, the reception staff always made a fuss of the dogs which the dogs enjoyed. I would recommend this practice to anyone, they do go the extra mile to ensure your pet receives the best treatment, we have recently moved to Spain and Max (9 1/2 Year old German Shepherd) has a medical problem which is controlled by medication for the rest of his life. Elizabeth emailed me all details regarding his condition and medication in Spanish to pass on to our new vet in Spain to ensure he receives the correct treatment. Elizabeth also advised us on the additional treatments our dogs would need to have in Spain. Last week I had a question regarding max, I spoke to Natalie and she was most helpful and told me I can contact her if needed, that to me is going above and beyond what is required. The only negative is that I couldn’t move the vets with us. Miss you all Read Less
