Palmer and Duncan Veterinary Surgeons was established in December 2000, by the partners, Margaret Palmer and Gordon Duncan.  At Palmer and Duncan the practice is designed so that clients are able to make appointments to see the vet of their choice, to ensure a continuity of care for their pet.
Consultations are by appointment, for the convenience of the clients, so that they can see the vet they want to see at a time convenient to them.  Palmer & Duncan recognise that both clients and their pets are often stressed during their visits to vets and, by operating an appointment system, this reduces the waiting time to a minimum, hopefully reducing the stress levels.  Palmer & Duncan have declined to join Out of Hours Service Providers, and are one of the few practices in the area still providing their own emergency service out with the normal surgery hours.  To maintain a proper level of care for hospitalised patients a member of the nursing team remains on the premises 24/7, so that observation and treatment can be maintained throughout the day and night.
Palmer & Duncan are committed to maintaining a high level of care to their patients and clients and therefore have a continuing education programme for all members of staff, and have been accredited as a tier 2 practice by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS accreditation is awarded to a Practice after inspection and certifies that the Practice conforms to designated standards).
