My dog has a bad eye after spending £90 with the vet 2 weeks ago for treatment, after calling back for another visit, the receptionist then recommends that I need to see the eye specialist…. The eye specialist is a lot more expensive Q.1 did the first vet not know what she was advising on? Q.2 how does the receptionist know that my dog needs to see the (very expensive) eye specialist? Q.3 did my dog just need to re visit the first vet for a second dose of antibiotics…. If the vet had recommended the eye specialist then possibly I wouldn’t feel so hard done by, but surely the vet should be recommending a 2nd opinion or if they don’t know about eyes, just send me to the eye specialist first time anyway. I don’t feel like my dogs’ interest is the main concern but making as much money as they can from us. The service is very insincere and it definitely feels like a cash first, care second service, all I want is my dog to be healthy, and they’ve failed us on a number of occasions now and left our dog with a permanent mole from lack of care too. I would definitely not recommend using Drove Vets at all. Gone elsewhere now, asked if they’d like any feedback to which the receptionist replied ‘not really, you can email if you want’, so thought we’d share on here. I have left a review regarding my recent experience and would like to point out that it was merely about the current pricing structure during the current health emergency. I have had five dogs registered over the years with drove and would like to clear up that I have never had cause for concern about the staff or treatment of any of my boys and girls. Drove vets and nurses have always stepped up to the mark with their care. I have today received a call from drove vets and I am more than happy to withdraw my previous review on the basis of that call, I appreciate them calling to clear up the situation and reflects my years of previous contact with them and the level of service I have always received prior to my last review. If I knew how I would delete my previous review, although accurate it was posted prematurely and before I had time to sit back and have a cup of tea. They have always been exceptional in caring for my boys and girls and wanted to make that clear. Read Less

I called to make an appointment for my bobby to have his anal glands expressed, I was told it is now £48 instead of the usual £16. I appreciate the current situation but cannot believe their costs have tripled. I explained that I pay into the pet club and bobby’s booster and health check are also due so could I book this as I’ve already paid for this vis direct debit over the year, and they could sort out bobby’s anal glands at the same time. The answer was no despite it already being paid for. So they can book me an appointment if I pay them £48 but cannot book an appointment for what I’ve already paid for as no extra cash comes their way.They are clearly using the current situation to profiteer and would advise to avoid them like the plague.
