After being referred here by my regular vet, the first time I brought one of my cats here, I'm not going to lie-I experienced a little bit of 'sticker shock' at the price of the office visit. Every visit thereafter, was a completely different story, however. Consistent, though, was the friendliness/care/concern/empathy from all the staff that I interacted with. I had brought in one of my cats originally for (what was ultimately diagnosed as) secondary anterior uveitis. His treatment did not cure him, but this is NOT something I blame on the AVS-let me be clear on this-my cat had other things going on; he was 15, and after ruling out infections etc. through bloodwork, in all likelihood had some sort of cancer -the uveitis, as stated in the diagnosis, was secondary. The other things my cat had going on did not present themselves as obviously as the uveitis did. Throughout all visits-Dr. Korsch was amazing during the whole process. She was very thorough, knowledgeable, compassionate, explained in detail what she determined to be going on, what each medication would help him with, the possible side-effects, everything. Even when I had brought him in to check on the pressure of the affected eye (glaucoma is a very common side effect of the uveitis)-he had a seizure, and confirmed what I had already been thinking, which was it was time to let him go. She stated that typically, ophthalmologists don't usually take on the responsibility of putting an animal down-but under the circumstances (this was a Saturday, and my regular vet wouldn't be open until Monday), she felt it was in the best interest of my cat so that he didn't suffer any longer. The office, and each examining room was always clean and sterile. The staff, friendly and compassionate. I can't speak about the other Dr.s, as I do not have any personal experience to go from, but Dr. Korsch was fantastic, and I know without doubt, that my cat got the best possible care for the last 6 weeks of his life.
