My cat died of kidney failure under your care. He was in the clinic for several days and it cost me over $1000. My father was a veterinary technician, so I know that what you charged me was well over what other clinics charge. Being out over $1000 and losing my beloved pet was bad enough. But to add insult to injury, you have continued to send me postcards for the past year stating:
"Our records indicate that it's about time for Sophie to visit our practice for the following: wellness exam, physical exam, etc."
Your records should indicate that MY CAT DIED IN YOUR CLINIC and for the amount of money you charged me, you should be able to afford to update your records and database.
The manner in which you conduct your business is very inconsiderate and uncaring.

The receptionist always efficient, call us and our pets by name. Very professional.
I never have more than a 5 minute wait for our appointment.
The Vet techs very skilled and competent.
The clinic always clean, never a smell.

I took my 2 aussies here to get groomed and it was by far the BEST and most professional grooming job my dogs have ever received by a groomer outside of the show ring. You could even tell that they really took the time to de-shed and rake out their coat, so there has been alot less shedding around the house to deal with too. I have taken them to several groomers before and they cannot even compare (and I have high standards for grooming)- Liberty's groomer clearly actually knows what he/she is doing.
The reason I knocked off 1 star is because it was clear that my dogs had not been let out to potty from drop off at 7 am to 5 pm when being picked up. As soon as they made it out the door when leaving, like clockwork, they both ran to the grass outside, peed forever, & pooped immediately. I know my dogs and their habits, and it was very obvious. Thank the heavens the pups looked so good, because otherwise I would have gone ballistic.
I am going to do 2 separate reviews for this place- one for the grooming and one for the vet clinic itself bc my experiences were very different.

As a pet parent the scariest thing is thinking you may lose your fur baby. My sweet Rose miscarried and needed surgery. She's a very petite Savannah cat and anesthesia can be tricky with their breed. Our vet was not only knowledgeable about the risks of using certain medications, but he was compassionate and sensitive. He gave me the comfort that comes with having confidence in your Veterinarian.
The facilities are clean, uncluttered, and comfortable. The pleasant, but not perfume, smell of their building is not possible in a poorly maintained clinic. I have the utmost confidence bringing any of my many animals to Liberty Animal Hospital.
Conveniently located with friendly but professional staff, and peace of mind. Can't put a price on that, but if you must the value is here.

We ended up having to put her down and the staff at Liberty Animal Hospital could not have been more compassionate, helpful and encouraging during such a traumatic time. They made a VERY difficult time as peaceful as possible, treating us as if we were life-long patrons. We were so grateful. I highly recommend this fine vet.

A+++ care, staff, facilities. I have too many examples of how the staff at Liberty has gone far above and beyond to take care of my old dog (and me) to list! Everyone from the folks at the front desk, to the assistants and aides, to each of the vets (even the ones who aren't our primary) greet my dog by name and take a few moments to pet him. It's clear these people LOVE animals, love what they do and are committed to operating the finest veterinary clinic and hospital in Alabama.

They are amazing. Dr Todd saved my dog's life. I came in with an emergency right as they were closing on a Friday and three of their staff stayed an extra hour and half to help us (with no complaint) and even contacted the emergency clinic for us so we could get right in. We have been loyal to them, they are always friendly and genuinely love our dog.

I called Liberty Animal Hospital about getting laser treatment for my dog. We normally use Hope Animal Hospital, but their laser is broken today. I called Liberty and they do have the Laser as the Google search indicates when I searched from the parking lot at Hope, but they want almost $50.00 a treatment for a one time procedure.I only pay $12.50 at Hope. I'm back on the phone looking for another provider. I can give my dog pain meds until Hope gets their laser back from K-Laser, the manufacturer, but I'm not going to pay Liberty 4 times what I normally pay. I'm sure there is another Veterinarian in the area that isn't going to try and soak me over price.

I rescued 4 puppies today, who were in desperate need of some TLC. With the help of Mountain Brook Animal Control (she arranged everything), my personal vet at Eastwood Animal Clinic (gave the vaccines) and this amazing place, Liberty Animal Hospital, who agreed to take in these puppies. I know, with all my heart, that they will find the best furever homes for each of them. Every person I spoke with was beyond friendly and so welcoming. They even offered to stay a smidge late just in case I couldn't leave my vet in time. Two thumbs up and a million stars!!

Great service, and the best people! Dr. Todd (Coleman) has always been our pets' best friend. We have rescued cats, dogs, birds, and fish, and taken care of all of them ever since we moved to Birmingham. People that actually care about your family members instead of viewing them as a "job" are hard to come by. As long as Liberty Animal Hospital keeps hiring these kinds of people, it will remain a 5 (PLUS) star facility.

Our Lab started getting sick on Friday evening, by noon on Saturday her condition had deteriorated to the point we were going to take her to an ER, as our Vet closed at noon and would not open until Monday. I contacted Dr. Martin and he said they could see her Sunday at 3:00 PM. Dr Martin had already spoken with Dr. Vargus before we arrived. Dr. Vargus discussed her condition with me and gave me options on tests they could run. He let me know the minimum they needed to perform and additional tests that could help pinpoint her condition and necessary treatment. Upon leaving the office she had improved somewhat, by Monday she was much better. They called to check on her condition on Monday. I was so impressed at how we were treated as "walk ups", we may have found our new vet! The care we received was excellent!.

I was concerned about anesthesia risk on older dogs .DR.Todd called me during the procedure and when Scarlet woke up . 7 teeth came out . I would have not trusted anybody else but her.

I adopted my dog from Adopt A Golden Birmingham, a local rescue organization. I decided to take my dog to Liberty Animal Hospital because they are so supportive of Adopt A Golden Birmingham. My dog has been examined by three different vets here, and they are all great, but my dog was most comfortable with Dr. Williams. The wait time is never long and it is easy to get an appointment on short notice. The facilities here are very clean. Another plus is that they have Saturday hours. They keep your records organized and send you an email reminder when it is time for vaccinations etc. I have also had my dog groomed here. They do a wonderful job with grooming, but the downside is that your dog will be there almost all day. February is doggie dental care awareness month at Liberty Animal Hospital and they provide discounts on teeth cleaning.

The Vet techs very skilled and competent.

I took my 2 aussies here to get groomed and it was by far the BEST and most professional grooming job my dogs have ever received by a groomer outside of the show ring. You could even tell that they really took the time to de-shed and rake out their coat, so there has been alot less shedding around the house to deal with too. I have taken them to several groomers before and they cannot even compare (and I have high standards for grooming)- Liberty's groomer clearly actually knows what he/she is doing.
The reason I knocked off 1 star is because it was clear that my dogs had not been let out to potty from drop off at 7 am to 5 pm when being picked up. As soon as they made it out the door when leaving, like clockwork, they both ran to the grass outside, peed forever, & pooped immediately. I know my dogs and their habits, and it was very obvious. Thank the heavens the pups looked so good, because otherwise I would have gone ballistic.
I am going to do 2 separate reviews for this place- one for the grooming and one for the vet clinic itself bc my experiences were very different.

As a pet parent the scariest thing is thinking you may lose your fur baby. My sweet Rose miscarried and needed surgery. She's a very petite Savannah cat and anesthesia can be tricky with their breed. Our vet was not only knowledgeable about the risks of using certain medications, but he was compassionate and sensitive. He gave me the comfort that comes with having confidence in your Veterinarian.
The facilities are clean, uncluttered, and comfortable. The pleasant, but not perfume, smell of their building is not possible in a poorly maintained clinic. I have the utmost confidence bringing any of my many animals to Liberty Animal Hospital.
Conveniently located with friendly but professional staff, and peace of mind. Can't put a price on that, but if you must the value is here.

We just moved to town and our dog became ill. We ended up having to put her down and the staff at Liberty Animal Hospital could not have been more compassionate, helpful and encouraging during such a traumatic time. They made a VERY difficult time as peaceful as possible, treating us as if we were life-long patrons. We were so grateful. I highly recommend this fine vet.

A+++ care, staff, facilities. I have too many examples of how the staff at Liberty has gone far above and beyond to take care of my old dog (and me) to list! Everyone from the folks at the front desk, to the assistants and aides, to each of the vets (even the ones who aren't our primary) greet my dog by name and take a few moments to pet him. It's clear these people LOVE animals, love what they do and are committed to operating the finest veterinary clinic and hospital in Alabama.

They are amazing. Dr Todd saved my dog's life. I came in with an emergency right as they were closing on a Friday and three of their staff stayed an extra hour and half to help us (with no complaint) and even contacted the emergency clinic for us so we could get right in. We have been loyal to them, they are always friendly and genuinely love our dog.

I called Liberty Animal Hospital about getting laser treatment for my dog. We normally use Hope Animal Hospital, but their laser is broken today. I called Liberty and they do have the Laser as the Google search indicates when I searched from the parking lot at Hope, but they want almost $50.00 a treatment for a one time procedure.I only pay $12.50 at Hope. I'm back on the phone looking for another provider. I can give my dog pain meds until Hope gets their laser back from K-Laser, the manufacturer, but I'm not going to pay Liberty 4 times what I normally pay. I'm sure there is another Veterinarian in the area that isn't going to try and soak me over price.

I rescued 4 puppies today, who were in desperate need of some TLC. With the help of Mountain Brook Animal Control (she arranged everything), my personal vet at Eastwood Animal Clinic (gave the vaccines) and this amazing place, Liberty Animal Hospital, who agreed to take in these puppies. I know, with all my heart, that they will find the best furever homes for each of them. Every person I spoke with was beyond friendly and so welcoming. They even offered to stay a smidge late just in case I couldn't leave my vet in time. Two thumbs up and a million stars!!

Great service, and the best people! Dr. Todd (Coleman) has always been our pets' best friend. We have rescued cats, dogs, birds, and fish, and taken care of all of them ever since we moved to Birmingham. People that actually care about your family members instead of viewing them as a "job" are hard to come by. As long as Liberty Animal Hospital keeps hiring these kinds of people, it will remain a 5 (PLUS) star facility.

Our Lab started getting sick on Friday evening, by noon on Saturday her condition had deteriorated to the point we were going to take her to an ER, as our Vet closed at noon and would not open until Monday. I contacted Dr. Martin and he said they could see her Sunday at 3:00 PM. Dr Martin had already spoken with Dr. Vargus before we arrived. Dr. Vargus discussed her condition with me and gave me options on tests they could run. He let me know the minimum they needed to perform and additional tests that could help pinpoint her condition and necessary treatment. Upon leaving the office she had improved somewhat, by Monday she was much better. They called to check on her condition on Monday. I was so impressed at how we were treated as "walk ups", we may have found our new vet! The care we received was excellent!.

I was concerned about anesthesia risk on older dogs .DR.Todd called me during the procedure and when Scarlet woke up . 7 teeth came out . I would have not trusted anybody else but her.

I adopted my dog from Adopt A Golden Birmingham, a local rescue organization. I decided to take my dog to Liberty Animal Hospital because they are so supportive of Adopt A Golden Birmingham. My dog has been examined by three different vets here, and they are all great, but my dog was most comfortable with Dr. Williams. The wait time is never long and it is easy to get an appointment on short notice. The facilities here are very clean. Another plus is that they have Saturday hours. They keep your records organized and send you an email reminder when it is time for vaccinations etc. I have also had my dog groomed here. They do a wonderful job with grooming, but the downside is that your dog will be there almost all day. February is doggie dental care awareness month at Liberty Animal Hospital and they provide discounts on teeth cleaning.
