I have taken both of my cats here. One while he was sick and then again just to get their annual exams. They are very flexible and always great with them! I have one that does NOT like the vet at all and they still are able to make him comfortable and do what they need to do without it being traumatizing. Not me, I saw this on fb. How could anyone let this poor puppy suffer like this! I am making sure I send all my animal lovers somewhere else! Ok, so it's time I put this out there. We left my dogs in the care of Lake Forest Vet Clinic in Daphne, Alabama while we were away on vacation last week. She has a walking prong collar that is only supposed to be used for walks. She is a big dog so naturally, she pulls. Well the staff at the clinic never took the collar off and throughout the week the collar dug into her neck causing severe damage as well as a nasty infection. No one on staff noticed or in my opinion honestly cared that something was clearly wrong. Apparently they would take her out 3 times a day and not once did they notice the collar digging into her neck and throat. Were they even checking on her? How can you not notice this?! My poor baby suffered in their care for a week! It wasn't until the day we were picking her up that they realized there was something wrong! Any dog handler knows that prong collars are meant for walks. They are not meant to be worn 24/7. And the amount of damage done appears to be more than just simple neglect. I ask that you all spread the word in the hopes that this doesn't happen to another animal. Lake Forest Animal Clinic is unfit to care for dogs. If you can't give your animals the attention they need, then you should not offer boarding. Luckily, Pryda will heal and this has not affected her personality. She is still as sweet and as goofy as we all know her to be. By posting this I hope to save the next dog from ending up being neglected in their care. They are the most expensive vet in this area. They wanted $300+ for what other vets in this area charge $63-75 for. If that isnt bad enough, one of our dogs was cared for regularly here with her previous owner and they never noticed she had wobblers (Cervical spondylomyelopathy) even though the two vets I brought her to myself noticed just by her gait. Charging extra does not mean a thing when you are not getting more for your money and had they caught this with her previous owner she would have had time to get surgery. I would not recommend taking your pets here when there are many other cheaper, and more attentive places to go. Read Less

I am SO thankful for this clinic. It is horrifying to come home from clinicals to blood trailing throughout your apartment and find the source to be your cat. And of COURSE all medical emergencies happen Friday at closing time. I have always loved this clinic, but they really went the extra mile for my family today. A coworker told me that her relative called LFAC before a hurricane because her dog was sick and her regular vet's office didn't return her calls.  One of the vets from Lake Forest came in and opened the clinic to treat a dog that was not his patient. I was determined this was the kind of vet I wanted to use for my little crazy pup. So, on to my experience.  We called on a Saturday to make an appointment for shots and boarding for Friday. When we arrived Friday, they had forgotten to write down the appointment. They fit her in anyway. One of the vet techs also let us walk her back and put her in the kennel and showed us where she would be staying. She even introduced us to her personal dog, a pit bull, which scored major brownie points because we're pittie lovers. So are they, which assures me they know a lot about dogs. They were even kind enough to call her old vet to obtain her shot records since I somehow lost them in the move. When we called to check on her they assured us she was doing fine and was being a very sweet girl. When we realized we weren't going to make it back in time to pick her up, we called and they said it was no problem for her to stay another night. Thank goodness!I had to work they day after we returned home so my hubby picked her up. He told me they didn't give him her shot records so I called and asked them to fax them to me. They gladly did so, and did it promptly. Of course, when I got home, her shot records were laying on the bar with the receipt stapled to them.  He said they did try to sell him a few other services, but they weren't pushy about it. One of the things was teeth cleaning, which she honestly needs. All in all, it was a good experience. I think we've found Jazzy's new vet.  Let's hope we only have to see them for regular appointments and no crazy incidents. Read Less

These guys made time for me on a Saturday morning. I had a small emergency situation before a holiday weekend and they treated me like I had made the appt months ahead of time. Great staff that love talking about animals: yours, theirs, friends of theirs, etc. That helps me know that they care about animals as much as I do. Thanks for helping today and we'll see you soon!
