My family dog has been going to Becker for 2 years, since she was 8 weeks old. We've had cause to see every vet for various reasons and all of them are smart, compassionate, professionals. Dr. Rice is her regular vet and she might love Dr. Rice more than she loves me. Her tail goes wild at every checkup. She was hit by a car recently after escaping from our yard and has made a full recovery thanks to the care of the entire Becker team.

Simply amazing staff. Shocked at affordability vs professionalism. Can't stress how wonderful they have been with both my and my lady's pups. We board when leaving town and use puppy daycare on busy days very frequently. The dogs get so excited when we pull up to Becker Animal Hospital.

I adore this vet. Dr. Rice is incredibly kind, always incredibly thorough and always provides suggestions on how to work through any issues you bring up outside just the general vet check. I actually came to her years ago with my dogs and am glad I got the chance to come back now that I've moved back to Birmingham.
The entire team is incredible and they make sure they work to make your pets comfortable and secure when visiting the office. The team also avoids trying to upsell you on a bunch of things you don't really need. I love the meds delivery service (Awesome way to ensure I remember) and I loved letting Alby get a bath and clean up here. He came out smelling great and even had a little commemorative bandana to show for it! :) Favorite vet in the Birmingham area hands down. I should also note, they are AAHA certified which is critical in ensuring quality pet care! Highly recommend.

Dr Rice and Dr Parsons are the best along with all of their staff. Our dog had an aggressive cancer. They let her stay daily at the clinic so she wouldn’t be alone. Delta received the best care for the full 7.5 years we took her there. Dr Rice knew Delta and all of her oddities. This clinic has the most loving and caring staff! This is the second animal we have taken here (our cat lived 18 years under their care). On top of all their great care through a hard time, after our dog passed the staff signed a card for us with individualized messages. You can’t go wrong with Becker Animal Clinic!

I have been a client of VCA Becker since April of 2015. My greyhound Ginny absolutely adores the staff at VCA and all of the vets are fantastic at what they do. Dr. Rice is our regular vet and she is always willing to take my call if I have a question. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good local vet. Also, because they're corporately owned, they will price match all medications which is tremendously helpful! Again, I recommend them with no reservations.

I used this vet when I moved to Birmingham and my dog was bitten by a venomous snake - she spent 1 night at the ER Vet and this was the closest to me to take her for post-ER care. She went in with a catheter and the staff was friendly and vet was very nice. They examined my dog thoroughly and answered all my questions in detail. I only went there a couple times because of my dog's snake encounter but I don't remember the price being exorbitant and they bandaged my dog well, gave me antibiotic cream and instructions and made sure she wasn't in pain. My boyfriend also took his cats there for an exam and to treat an infected fight wound. On the return visit for another infection (same wound different puncture area) they were so impressed at our cats nonchalance and untroubled demeanor during exam that they didn't charge us for the visit, which was extremely nice of them.

The only time my husband and I ever left a cat with a vet was at Becker and one of the techs messed up his diabetes medicine and killed him. We came to this conclusion after medicating him ourselves at home for 2 yrs. and being familiar with his reactions to the meds. It was Thanksgiving weekend and there was minimal staff on duty, mostly lower level, and it does take experience and focus to administer diabetes medication properly and communication between staff members about timing of doses is vital. The second day we were gone, one of the vets called to say our cat was not doing well; he was lethargic. Ten minutes later he called back to say he had died. We were both crushed. Because we didn't want to burden a friend or sibling with coming over twice a day for 5 days to administer shots, we put our trust in Becker and he failed us miserably. I will never board another animal there or take another animal to his clinic. 15 years later I'm still angry and sad when I think about what it must have been like for our sweet, friendly, easy-going boy. Not only to be in a strange place but to die among strangers.

I actually came to her years ago with my dogs and am glad I got the chance to come back now that I've moved back to Birmingham.
The entire team is incredible and they make sure they work to make your pets comfortable and secure when visiting the office. Dr Rice and Dr Parsons are the best along with all of their staff. Our dog had an aggressive cancer. They let her stay daily at the clinic so she wouldn’t be alone. Delta received the best care for the full 7.5 years we took her there. Dr Rice knew Delta and all of her oddities. This clinic has the most loving and caring staff! I have been a client of VCA Becker since April of 2015. My greyhound Ginny absolutely adores the staff at VCA and all of the vets are fantastic at what they do. Dr. Rice is our regular vet and she is always willing to take my call if I have a question. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good local vet. Also, because they're corporately owned, they will price match all medications which is tremendously helpful! Again, I recommend them with no reservations.
