Savannah will not be returning to Metro Cat Clinic. I am highly disappointed in how rude one of your vetinarians and her coworker were to me when I saw them at Sams one Saturday. I have spent quite a of money there and never felt welcomed. It's sad because you came highly recommended by a friend. So we will be seeking cat services elsewhere. One of the best Cat Clinics I have ever been too. My wife and I have 4 cats. The staff and the doctors are all extremely nice and accommodating. They even helped us find rescued kittens to adopt. They offer a wide range services based off the level of care you want to receive. They also go the extra mile in explaining all options to help your cat grow up and stay healthy. I would not dream of taking my cats anywhere else. I can not recommend this place enough for all their hard work and education they provide for their customers. They really feel like an extension of your family. I recommend this place for anyone in the Birmingham, AL area and for anyone outside as well. I drive here from Helena, AL and would even be willing to drive from Tuscaloosa, AL or even Huntsville, AL to take my cats here. Read Less

The folks at Metro are amazing ! They truly love & care for the cats & kittens that they treat and are not in it for the money. Both Carrie Pressly & Andria Bliss helped me via phone & in the office during my kitties sudden illness. Vet tech Kathy hermenson was so very kind & attentive to my little Ginger. ( even getting down in the floor with us to get vitals & treats to keep her calm ) and last but certainly not least, Dr. Lolly was so thorough in her examination & explained in detail what was going on with my girl. I appreciate everyone treating my baby with kindness & compassion and not like a paycheck.Read Less

I love metro cat clinic and the fact that there are no dogs there for my cats to get nervous around ... Absolutely love Dr. Montgomery she is the best vet I've been to and takes her time with her patient felines She's never in a hurry to get in and out as a lot of other vets I've been to and she listens to my opinions...my fur babies love her dearly!! They just don't know it.....lol P.s. I really have to disagree with these reviews. If you are an attractive female they will be condescending to you? Lol WHAT?! I won't be arrogant like one of the reviews here but I am young and don't think I'm super unattractive...everyone here is super nice! I think the prices are more reasonable than other clinics too. Lately my cat has been falling apart and they've been able to recommend the right things for his symptoms (sneezing, coughing, etc) . They've never billed me for a large procedure I hadn't consented to. You are allowed to decline services except for rabies shot since it's the law.. I love the Cat Clinic! Read Less

The main goal of this facility is not to care for your pet... it is to TAKE YOUR MONEY! Every time I've taken my cats in for serious medical attention, they've concentrated more on up-selling me on services like vaccines, optional treatments and grooming. If you refuse the extra services, they will still do them and then bill you for them claiming that you had requested them. The facility is not as clean as you would want your vet's office to be. Also, the receptionists are very rude, callous, and dismissive.I brought my cat in when he was losing weight very quickly and it was obvious that he was quite ill. They refused to treat him until they gave him another rabies vaccine because they "lost his past medical records" after I had gone through the trouble of personally handing them his past medical records TWICE.  Regardless, I agreed to the vaccine for the sake of my cat getting the medical attention he needed. The vet saw him and when I came to pick him up, they gave me the bill. They added over $400 worth of vaccines and other unnecessary treatments that I NEVER approved and specifically told them NOT to give him! Not only was this specifically against my requests, but it could have further worsened my cat's health.Furthermore, they diagnosed him with a terminal disease, and did not offer any prescriptions or medication. They suggested that I euthanize my pet because he was "probably going to die in 6 to 8 months anyway."  I obviously refused.   So, we got a 2nd opinion from another vet (turns out my cat did NOT have a terminal illness), filled the medication, and over a year later he is now much healthier, has gained his weight back, and is thriving.I brought my cat here because they only have cats in their building, as to reduce stress of being around other animals or being scared of loud dog barks, etc. That is the ONLY positive aspect of this facility! I'm giving this clinic three stars because they specialize in felines.  That's awesome.  However, my experiences with Metro clinic were not awesome.  The one vet that I did take my cat to was nice enough; but, the receptionists were always rude.  Because of experiencs and location, I do not use this clinic.  When I moved to the Birmingham area over ten years ago, this was the first clinic I discovered.  Previously, my cat had been diagnosed with IBS.  It would turn out that she had hyperthyroidism.  They chose to stick with the previous verdict and didn't check for hyperthyroidism, even though it can be common in cats.  Furthermore, each time I walked in this clinic the receptionists were incredibly rude and rather condescending.  One seriously asked me if I knew what "feral" meant.  I don't think it served the clinic's purpose to have a bitter person managing the desk, as they lost me as a client.  If you live in the area and aren't a pretty, young girl just out of undergrad, this may be a great place for you to take your kitty.  If you are an attractive, young female, you may find your experience similar to mine.
