I took my lab to them for one simple procedure where she had to stay overnight, I picked her up the next day and noticed a tick, luckily it never latched, however it was still shocking considering in the 3 years she has been alive she has not had one tick problem... over the next few days while she was recovering we managed to pull SEVEN TICKS!!!!! off of her.... I am not happy one bit!! ESPECIALLY! just bringing home a 3 day old baby girl..this is unacceptable and I will drive an our out of my way to avoid this issue again. Read Less

Their new location is just so beautiful and luxurious compared to their previous location. They actually renamed it as a lodge, and I think that fits perfectly. The training prices (in the 200’s) and spay/neuter ($125) are expensive, but the “deluxe manicure” and the bordetella vaccine all together were only about $40. Read Less

Dr. CHAMPION AND OFFICE STAFF COULD NOT BE ANY BETTER.  THEY ARE AWESOME, EVERY ONE WITHOUT EXCEPTION.  One thing that can show you how caring they are:  my precious Yorkie had been to a new place for a grooming because his groomer had moved and he acted funny when I got him home and I took him to the vet and they saw him immediately and the ones ahead of me were told it was necessary he be seen asap.  I could not believe my eyes when Dr. Champion picked him up and cradled him in his arms and settled him down before he did anything else and then gave him a shot and told me he would sleep a couple hours or something and be fine.  He also said he was frightened by something that happened  I asked him if he could recommend a local groomer and he did  Needless to say my little darling was fine when he woke up.  My darling loved the groomer Dr. Champion  recommended.  He is awesome!!!!!!!!! I can not thank Dr. Burchfield and the staff at Hueytown Veterinary clinic enough! I was a complete mess when I brought my beagle in with a horrible hematoma on her ear. They did everything they could to let me know she was in good hands and that they would take care of her! She had to have surgery that night and they have worked with me on her skin allergies and ear infection for the past few months! She is back to her normal crazy self now! Disappointing. Birchfield was more concerned in selling me on costly procedure/test and maintenance drugs for my very healthy dog then actually examining the dog. Of a 30 minute visit with him he only examined my dog for about 90 seconds. The rest of the time was spent telling me why I needed all of the other things. A $120 annual well dog visit would have gone over $300 if I had not put a stop to it. I have heard this about Birchfield, but did not believe it until I experienced it. If you go see one of the Champions they have better reputations. Also, they don't take appointments for well dog visits, they say just come in, well we just came in and had to wait 1 hour to get in an exam room, then 15 more minutes of waiting for the vet to come in. Ended up spending over 2 hours total time for a well dog visit, and only about 5 animals where there during our visit. They really need to take appointments for all visits so as not to waist people's time. I won't be going back! Read Less

The Doctors & Nursing Staff at Hueytown Vet Clinic are the best! They diagnosed our beloved Chowder with Cushing's Disease back in February of 2014.
