On 2-26-18 my wife and I came across an animal that appeared to be a dog had been hit by a car and left laying in the road injured but still alive. We stopped to see if there was anything we could do. We wrapped the animal in a blanket and loaded it into our pickup and headed to the nearest veteran. That vet told us that they couldn't/wouldn't do anything, not even put it down so it wouldn't suffer further. After loading the animal back into the pickup we hit Google and Bentley was the next closest vet. Upon arrival prior to moving the animal again my wife went in to check if they could help us. They said they could and to bring it right in putting us directly into an exam room. After checking the animals injuries the vet informed us that it was in fact a female cyoteye not a dog. We told them we would happily pay for it if they would at least be willing to humanly put it down so it was no longer suffering. They told us they would and there would be no charge as they had a small allowance for things like this. No animal deserves to be left to needlessly suffer just because people do t care. Dr. Hulsey and his staff are amazing. My precious pet died of a sudden heart attack. I called in to let them know to close his file but they had already closed so I left a message on the phone. A very few days later, I received a sympathy card in the mail and it was signed by everyone in the office. Dr. Hulsey is well educated and experienced. his love and compassion for all creatures is second to none. all doctors and staff are very knowledgeable, caring and great with animals. office and exam rooms are very clean! also, exams/meds/preventatives/treatments are well priced. appointment availability and office hours convenient for all schedules. I took my 10 year old rescue cat to Dr. Reiter who has a rare heart condition and his teeth were in such bad shape that they all needed extraction. Even though this was a very risky surgery Dr. Reiter said the cat was in alot of pain and recommended the surgery. I was hesitant because I was sure he wouldn't make it through the surgery. When Dr. Reiter personally called the afternoon of the surgery, I thought he called to tell me the bad news, but instead he said I could pick my kitty up that afternoon. What a relief! The surgery took over 3 hours and extra steps were taken to assure a good outcome. My kitty is now home, acting much more loving, eating canned food and is happy to play with the other cats instead of hiding. My mother started using Bentley Animal Hospital about 50 years ago. When Dr. Eric Hulsey first joined Bentley Animal Hospital he was my vet for one of my dogs. He was wonderful then. Due to a disagreement with one of the other vets in the practice, I left Benltey's for a while. I have rejoined Bentley's and they have taken several of my dogs through life saving procedures. Most recently, my elderly dog Belle, became sick. Dr. Hulsey did everything he could think of doing. He had me take her home for a week to see if the home environment would make her any more comfortable. It did not. When I got there for Belle's final appointment,, Dr Hulsey and his technicians were very kind. Delaney was tasked with having me sign papers for legal issues. She was so kind to me as she explained everything that was going to happen. Dr. Hulsey and Delaney were very concerned about Belle's comfort (as well as mine) during the process. I took my rescue dog there for a nail trim. He goes to aver regularly, but it requires a car ride. He has severe anxiety on car rides and either vomits or has mass quantities of drool. They made an appointment and were very accepting of our dog as just a nail trim customer since we can walk there on nice days. The staff was patient, kind and very friendly with us and our dog. I am so happy that my wonderful vet has joined the staff at Bentley Animal Hospital. Dr Matthews is a wonderful, caring vet who brought my great dane Skyler Bella from the brink of death to the beautiful, healthy dog she is today. We started with Dr. Matthews at our old vet's office in Hazel Green and have followed her to Bentley's. We had our first visit there this past Thursday and we got to meet all the staff and other veterinarians there and I know that this is the right place for Skyler Bella, Dr. Matthews and myself. I moved to Huntsville in 2008 and began using Bentley for the care of my dogs immediately due to the proximity of my home.  However, if I moved across town, I would still drive to Bentley for all our Vet needs! They have been great, both Dr. Hulsey & Dr. McDade. The staff is friendly and very helpful, and the prices are as expected for Vet care.  Getting a last minute appointment has never been an issue.  Sometimes the wait can be long, but that's because they put their patients first & squeeze in "emergencies" as needed.  Just be prepared to spend a few extra minutes there when you have an appointment (which is the only reason I can't give 5 stars). We have been lucky & haven't had any serious health issues yet, but I believe Bentley will handle everything with lots of care & compassion.  You can tell that everyone who works there loves animals.  They also have a kennel for overnight stays and will shampoo pets for a decent price. We moved to Huntsville a few years ago and had to find a new vet for our schnauzers.  We chose a different one mainly because was so close to our house.  They were OK but when one of our dogs became seriously ill they just seemed to give up and wanted us to euthanize him.  I took him to Bentley to have the procedure done.  Dr Sizemore was willing to do it but explained that there was much more we could do to try and save him.  We're not out of the woods yet but we still have our Jack and he is getting better.  You could not ask for a more compassionate and dedicated vet.  The whole staff is great.  Our dogs actually enjoy going to the vet now.  It doesn't hurt that the prices are lower than the other vet too.Update:  We tried for over a month to save Jack.  It hurt the staff almost as much as it did us but we decided it was best to end his suffering.  We cried, they cried.  A week later a sympathy card signed by the whole staff.  I never heard of such a thing.  They care and we're life long customers. I brought my cat to Bentley animal Hospital for a routine checkup and she saw Dr. Helsey who was great! I wasn't to impressed with the dirtiness of the exam room though. If it's that dirty what does their surgery room look like. I put that aside and then took my dog to Bentley Animal Hospital and she was seen by Dr McDade who was horrible! Dr. Mcdade noted my dogs age about 4 years older than she actually is, she didn't discuss any of the treatment with me prior to just shoving some goop into my dogs ears, She then left the room and her assistant walked in with a bag full of meds, again with no options to obtain a script to fill on my own for a 10th of the price. She also told me that the change in food is what made my dog sick to her stomach and when I complained to the manufacturer of the food they contacted Dr McDade and then McDade told both them and myself (when I called to confirm)that she didn't think it was the food. So she lied to me in the office! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE, THEY CANNOT BE TRUSTED! Read Less
