The receptionist and vet tech were friendly and kind; however, the doctor was not. My dog was due for his annual vaccinations, so I thought I’d give Trusty Vet a chance. I’m from the Shoals area, so he usually visits a veteriarian clinic there. As I am a teacher, I have a limited income and get paid once a month. After the vet tech told me the total for my pup’s vaccinations and heartworm blood test (around $250) I explained that I would have to wait and come back in a few weeks for the heartworm test. The vet tech was extremely understanding and went to get the vaccinations prepared. The doctor was awfully rude and judgmental towards me for not getting the heartworm test that day. She said, “I understand about your financial situation.....” but it was obvious that she was being condescending. I was embarrassed, but explained to her that I’d be back shortly to get the test. I also discussed with her something that I was a little concerned with, but I was aware that it was common for the breed of dog I have. My dog is a shih tzu, and it’s known that they sometimes suffer from reverse sneezing episodes. I explained to the doctor that I understood that it was common, but that it had been occurring a little more frequently. She acted like she had no idea that it was connected to the breed and blew it out of proportion. I will not be sending my dog back to this vet. The doctor was pretty rude and obviously didn’t have knowledge about my dog’s breed. I took my dog back to the vet in the Shoals area for his heartworm test a few weeks after we visited Trusty Vet. His heartworm test was negative, and I discussed his reverse sneezing with the vet. She expressed no concerns and reassured me that it was just common with my dog’s breed. Read Less

The worst place ever to take your pet. Took my dog for senior wellness check and to check for a UTI, during this exam they completely missed the mass near her bladder. Took her back once I located it and they still accomplished nothing. They even brought the wrong chart in when they came into the room and had the nerve to ask me "are you sure your dog wasn't more white than black last time?" because the picture in the chart looked nothing like my dog.. since it wasn't my dog. Then they took forever to refer my dog to the specialist and only accomplished it when I called to remind them since the place wouldn't make me an appointment without the referral. So weeks later the mass is larger and my dog is now acting sick.... Having to pay extra to take her to an emergency visit because not only are they terrible at treating dogs they can't complete a simple referral. Read Less

I wouldn't ever recommend this vet to anyone. Extremely rude staff. I sent my friend here and they were so rude to her about vaccinating her own dogs at home to the point she almost cried. My experience here was that they couldn't treat a simple skin infection on my puppy and basically gave up on it. I treated it with coconut oil at home. After trying for so long to keep under control my dog's allergies and spending a lot of money on it, She was able to control my dog's allergies and He's happier than ever. Plus people don't have to wait forever so see the doctor and that's so good because They have respect for you and your time. I have been coming here for a over a year now with all three of my dogs... they are the best. They always get me in last minute. Last year we got a puppy - who ended up having parvo. They were very quick with test results and leading me in the right direction about what steps to take, even providing me a list of hospitals to take her to. I love all the vets and the techs, they actually care and take the time to explain what is going on with your pet... (They also don't try to sell you unnecessary tests and products) I am in and out pretty quickly without breaking the bank! The sweetest cat I've ever had the honor to meet, the most loving and giving little life, was snuffed out this morning. GREAT VET! I have been going there for over a year now. I have 3 fur babies. They are great at working with me to bring them in all at the same time for their annuals and shots. The doctors are very in-tune with the dogs and really takes their time with the exam. When my little one got his neck ripped open by something...they took him in immediately, did the surgery and took great care of him. I have been taking my dogs here for a little over 6 months. All of the doctors and staff are wonderful. They found a spot on one of my dog's lips and recommended a biopsy which came back to be malignant, and Dr. Calvin took the time to call me and email with me on her off days to help me fully understand the lab results and the best course of treatment for my dog. I took my mini dachshund in this week. Was very hesitate and nervous bringing her in to see a new vet especially because she is not friendly around new people, dogs, or cats. We were brought into an exam room as soon as we arrived which was relieving to avoid other people bringing their pets in. Dr. roeder was so good with her as well as the vet tech that helped out. I took my 10 year old dog, Charlie (Anatolian Shepherd) in today for his rabies vaccination and to receive medication for his arthritis. They were all very friendly and personable to myself and my 10 year old son, and treated Charlie as if he was their own. All of my questions were answered and she thoroughly explained why she suggested a blood test as well as medication for my dog. She did not recommend anything unnecessary, and gave me a print out with the cost of tests and medication that she recommend for Charlie. I was given time to analyze everything and make a decision as to what I chose to have done today and what I will return for at a later date without any pressure from any of the staff members. My puppy and I have had wonderful experiences with Trusty Vet. We recently moved out of the Huntsville area and can sadly no longer go to Trusty Vet. It has been in my search for a new vet that made me realize how truly amazing this vet practice is. I was initially skeptical of a vet marketed as "affordable." However, I quickly discovered my concerns to be unfounded. The facility is clean and modern with advanced equipment. The doctors are very knowledgable. They were very thorough in his visits, explained things very well, and answered any questions I had. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Everyone was extremely sweet with my pup and treated him well. I remember being so impressed after our first visit. My dog still plays with the little toy that came in his goodie bag as a new patient. We visited multiple times for vaccinations, neutering, and various other reasons during our time there. Each visit was affordable, and I always felt confident that they were providing him with the best care. I wish there were more places like Trusty Vet to care for our pets. Great vet! We just moved to the area and wanted to get our dog in to see a vet for a check up. They got us an appointment in a timely manner, called to remind us, etc. Our appt was this morning and it was great. Our family recommends Dr. Bradshaw and Dr. Calvin with no reservations. Both are excellent and compassionate in caring for your trusted friends and furry children. We lost our eldest cat to an osteosarcoma of the knee, a very painful bone cancer. Dr. Calvin found this cancer even though we thought (and it was previously diagnosed at another clinic and was being treated) as an injury. Cancers move fast, but it was within two weeks and she saw it quickly. Both she and Dr. Bradshaw wasted no time in helping us make the right decision for this elderly gent. No lies, no extra services, no wasted services, no procedures to run up the bill - only love and very good pain control until it was time to say goodbye. They have also made caring for my fosters affordable for the first time. We are using them for every possible service they offer. Also, if you don't know their technicians, they are awesome and well qualified - we are very pleased with all! I took my dog in to get him started on heart guard. The vet tech was great, very friendly and made me feel welcome and comfortable. The vet took her time with his examination and was very detailed. You could tell they were passionate about their job and animals by the way the cuddled my little dog. Their facility was very clean and new. I was very pleased with my visit to this vet. The waiting room was both clean and comfortable as were the exam rooms. I had just adopted a dog, and needed her to get a check up, and get some medicine. Being new to the area, I did not know really any vet's in the area, so I just googled and Trusty Vet popped up. I scheduled an appointment, and went in on Saturday. The facility may be the cleanest vet office i have ever seen. Amazing facility, the staff greeted me and put me in a private room. The wait was not very long, and they honestly seemed to care for my pet. The tech went over everything and anything i could've asked. When Dr. Bradshaw came in she was very professional and knowledgeable. She gave my dog a shot and then i scheduled a follow up. All and all, this was more than I could've hoped for from my vet. They are going to be my permanent pet doctor now, and I highly recommend for anyone looking for low cost pet care where they love your animal! Read Less

Took my cat here for a really nasty ear infection. Doctor and techs were very nice and patient with him. Cost me about $150 which is not too bad considering all they had to do (run culture, shave around his ear, give him a steroid shot, and they clipped his nails for me) and this included the antibiotics.
