WOW ...that's the only way I know to start-out describing this vet clinic. I just moved to Madison, AL from Colorado Springs. My Mom's dog was about 14.5 years old & not in the best of health or condition when I arrived. I knew when I saw him that he probably wouldn't come home with my Mom after his next visit. I prepared my Mom for this, as she's had him for over 14-yrs. All I can say, as that last visit just occurred this afternoon ...Dr. Combs & her ENTIRE staff were so friendly, understanding, honest, caring & professional ...ALL ROLLED INTO ONE! Dr. Combs has been treating Mom's dog for most of his life. So she knew him well & knew that it was time for him to "rest"! Ultimately, she left the decision up to my Mom. Thankfully,, my Mom made the right decision in letting her dog go, so he no longer suffers. My Mom doesn't usually get emotional, but she broke down crying. Dr. Combs & the staff were very sincere in helping to comfort my Mom, as well as easing her dog's final passing. There was a lot of tears & hugs before we left. Given my Mom's age & health, she has decided not to get another pet. However, I know I will be getting another dog in the next few months. I lost my beloved dog last November after 8 years with her. She was a rescue and was actually 12-yrs-old. Though I live in Madison, I would not hesitate to make Dr. Combs & her clinic my go-to vet. As a former pet-parent & soon-to-be pet-parent again ...I would drive through an ice storm for my pet-baby's care ...in fact, I did ...that's how I ended up with my dog. We literally drove through an ice-storm from Canon City, CO to Colorado Springs when I 1st brought her home. I would do it all over again just to have her back by my side. So I know when I get my next pet-baby that I'd drive all the way across town (rush hour traffic, construction & all) just to make sure she/he was well cared for! That's how I think about this vet clinic. Also, it is a very well-kept place ...clean, smells good, professional looking, but still relaxed & not too "clinical" looking. State-of-the art table-tops that easily lower up/down to ease your pet on without having to pick them up to place them on a harsh metal table. I can't remember the material of the table, but it wasn't that shiny hard cold metal. So a BIG KUDOS to Dr. Combs & all her staff! They genuinely are a blessing to both pets and pet-parents. will i took my my lhas aposa to small female dog to get check out dr comb explain to me what she found and what treatment she did gave me her med and when i got to the counter the girl at desk was real rude she told me my bill was 1465.00 i ask her what happen she said that the price i was given it due in full i explain i was told over the phone it would be around 1200.00 the price difference was the major problem her rudness her attitude was i ask to see the bill she fold it up and gave it to me after that experience deal with her i dont feel comfortable about going their anymore i have been going their for at lease 10 years doing what the vet recommend to me all i want was the bill to be explain to me i got push out the door with my dog i pay my bill in full my dog had a real ruff night i am afraid to even call the vet about the dog Read Less

I began taking my furbabies here shortly after we moved to Huntsville in 2013. We have since moved to South Huntsville so I thought I would try a few places closer for the convenience. I am now BACK at Winchester Rd because I have not found anyone that shows the amount of love and or concern for my furbabies as Dr. Combs and her staff have shown. If possible I would give a million star rating for Dr. Combs and the staff at Winchester Road Animal Hospital. Yesterday was our first visit ever to the office for our family cat, Whiskers. Tasha at the front desk was amazing with answering any questions I had. She is so sweet and friendly! We went to school together so it was so nice to talk and catch up while we were waiting to be seen. I was super impressed with the setup in the exam rooms! I was amazed at how calm and comfortable Whiskers seemed to be. She acted as if she was at home! Dr. Combs told me about the Feliaway and Adaptil diffusers they had in their exams rooms and also gave me samples of the wipes for my cat AND for my dog who gets anxiety from thunder! I was so impressed with both the vet tech and Dr. Combs; both are very knowledgeable and answered any questions that I had. Their prices are also very reasonable! I will most definitely continue to use Dr. Combs and her staff for the care of my cat and dog! I would definitely recommend Dr. Combs and her staff at WRAH to anyone who is looking for veterinarian!! Winchester Animal Hospital has to be the best veterinarian office that we have ever dealt with in our area, or anywhere, for that matter. The staff are always ultra-friendly and Dr. Combs is simply the best in Huntsville (in my opinion). She is very knowledgable, always takes her time with you and your pet and explains everything very well and is just a really nice person, who you can tell really cares. I had my first visit today with two dogs. I'm guessing Dr. combs spent at least 30 minutes with me. She answered all my questions about everything under the sun to do with my dogs. The staff was terrific. Amy held onto my little wiggle worm doc with arms of steel as the doc trimmed his nails. The receptionist was friendly and even though she was swamped was very personable. Dr. Combs and staff are the best in town. I've been bringing my babies here for about 8 years or so and I would NOT take them anywhere else. Abby our oldest dog had to have her leg amputated and they were excellent with her. They saved her life and now she is so much happier. Bella recently had TPLO surgery and they took great care of my girl. We have a long road to recovery but I was thankful before surgery they let me walk her to her kennel and give her some love, the phone calls, sweet staff members, Tasha sending me a pic of Bella to comfort me after surgery, and letting me bring Bella's favorite boiled chicken and salmon treats. Dr Comb and her staff are great - everytime I come into the clinic, I'm treating very courteous.  I've been coming here for over the last 18 years.  I had a cat that had gotten into some oil at a neighbors garage and had to be hospitalized for several days - I was able to come and go to see him and the recovery was a great success.  I now have a labradoodle and have been in the office several times (you know - beginning dog shots - lots of visits...) - and Dr. Comb always has time to talk to me and give me pointers on whatever I need/ask for.  I feel that Dr. Comb is really an animal lover - and I like that it's a small office and that I feel like family. I wish with all my heart I lived in Huntsville AL for the sole fact that I could bring my animal to this office. Everyone there is amazing! I live in Franklin TN. Two months ago my black lab and gotten spooked and took off running. Well for two months the poor girl just ran until one day an angel saw her. This angel works at Winchester Road Animal Hospital. She was going in to work when she saw my pup who is scared of her own shadow. I am not sure how she did it but she got our pup and took her in. They had her for 2 days and then had made a Facebook post about her. Next thing I knew I had someone sending that post my way. I called down to Winchester Road Animal Hospital cause it was over 90 miles away. I wanted to make sure it was my pup. After all I had seen a lot of found black lab those two months. When I called they where amazing help really trying to find the same markings or anything that may help. I took the drive down. They took my toddler and I back to one of the exam room. It was a great setup one I would love to bring my animal back to time after time again. They had it setup like a living room. Help our sweet animals feel more at home. Anyways they had brought our pup in to the room. IT was her!!! I could not began to tell you how happy I was to see her again. The everyone in the office came in to give their support and congrats. They had feed her for 2 and a half days. Just when we where there our pup and eaten a full bag of Science Diet cookie treats. That had to cost a good penny. Then they Microchip and engraved a tag for her with all our info. Then I had gone up to check out that is when it hit me "this is going to cost me a lot". They took such great care of her and the love they showed her was amazing! I am not sure how I could ever thank them!!! They did all this for the love of our pup. When I asked if I could pay them they said "Not at all we are so bless to be able to help her get home after so long." Truly an amazing staff. I listen to Dr. Combs and take all her recommendations as fact. I am getting ready to see what she thinks of getting rid of my 13 yr old Feist's fatty tumor. My dog isn't acting normal lately and Dr. Combs has taken good care of her. Staff at Winchester Rd. Animal Hospital, is fun, and helpful, my Dog as mentioned above is now 16, due to the wonderful care she continues to receive at the cllinic. Daisy is my dog's name, she has severe arthritis, and with the suggestions from the Dr. and medicine prescribed Daisy still gets around pretty good.Read Less
