I have been taking my pets to Riverside for about five years, and they have seen at least seven of my cats over the years. (My last two services there were about $400 combined.) I have always paid for services up front and never asked for credit. Last week, I had a really ill cat and called the clinic to ask if I could bring my kitty in on Wednesday and give them a check dated for Friday. The answer was "No, we don't give credit." Really? You won't extend a 2-day credit to someone who has been your faithful client for five years? I can understand not taking a post-dated check from a new client, but someone who has been with you that long and always paid her bill immediately? Someone with a really sick pet?
Anyway, not knowing what to expect, I reluctantly made an appointment with another vet clinic in town, one I'd never been to before. Not only did the new clinic see my cat, but they let me pay what I had on hand and then write them a postdated check for the rest of the amount.
More importantly, the new veterinarian was wonderful! She even called me at home the following Monday to ask how my kitty had done over the weekend. Wow! I thought. How many vets do that? She was truly concerned and listened to my report/update on his condition.
At first I was a little peeved with Riverside for their attitude about "no credit," but it actually worked out for my, and my pet's, good. I definitely plan to stay with this new veterinarian.
(On a final note, I will miss "Heather" at Riverside. She is an amazingly kind and compassionate receptionist/assistant, and the other ladies at the front desk front were nice too. Thank you, Heather, for always being so caring and concerned. You're a real jewel.) Read Less
