I highly recommend this vet. They are very good with big dogs ( ours is 90 lbs). Plus they have grooming and boarding. Book early and ask about their suites. Our dogs love it there.

Our Yorkie Terrier mix stayed here 6 weeks ago when we had to leave time unexpectedly. Coco is a rescue puppy, we don't know much about her background. I was worried about her since she hadn't been away from us more than a couple hours since we got her the end October. After taking a tour I was sure she would be fine. They answered questions before I had a chance to ask. The staff was extremely friendly when I called and when I went in to see the place she would be staying. When we picked up they was happy to see us, she was well taken care of. We hadn't chosen a vet, we have one now. This was the first place I called and the last. I'm so happy with my choice!!! Thanks so much for taking care of Coco and showing her love!!!!!

Nice vet, clean office. However, she refuses to write your pets prescription. You must pay her super inflated prices for them. She charges $81 for a 30 ct pack of 5mg Vetoryl that I could buy on my online pharmacy for $33. Tests were priced a bit higher. I chose not to purchase or have any further treatment for my pet due to cost and that ridiculous prescription policy.

This is the first time I can honestly say that I enjoyed the experience of taking my dog here and she wasn't nervous like when visiting previous veterinary hospital or clinics. I was given a tour of their beautiful facility. Dr. Mixon and her staff are just awesome! The entire facility was spotless and service they provide is reasonably priced. I will definitely be using West Madison Veterinary Hospital for both of my pets health care needs!

It surprises me that this place has very little reviews! I have never seen another facility such as this one that is so clean. I must say that it feels very comfortable knowing that my pets are in a clean environment! Its unbelievable how dirty other places can be when people board their pets! The employees here are very caring and friendly. My pets absolutely love this place and get very excited when they see this building. I highly recommend that everyone comes here! Great service, clean building, and great employee's!! I know for a fact that I'm getting my money's worth here.

Wonderful, caring folks at West Madison Vet! I have taken my 2 girls (now 3 girls) here since we moved to Alabama almost 3 years ago. . We now live in Meridianville but my husband and I still make the drive for grooming and medical care for our furry 4 legged babies. Probably not the most inexpensive place but the care is fabulous. We have a 10 yr old German Shepard, a 6 year old Lab and a 5 1/2 month old German Shepard, all stages and they answer every question and concern I have, VERY knowledgeable! I highly recommend West Madison Veterinary Hospital and Pet Resort!

A great place! Myself and my babies have followed Dr. Mixon since 2002. From Huntsville, to Madison, and now to her own practice in Madison at Balch Road. CONGRATS DR. MIXON!! I sometimes feel my animals have "grown up with her." When I first met her, she was a recent graduate, unmarried, and a true love for animals. Dr. Mixon is now married with a family and a practice full of lovely employees who give the highest standard of care. She, no matter her location, has always stuck with me through the good and bad with the care of my animals. That is a very TALL statement!! My babies are my family and do not know they are not "human." We first met Dr. Mixon when she was working with another vet office in Madison. That was in 2004 and she has provided excellent care for our babies ever since. When she left that first office around 2012, to start her own practice, West Madison Veterinarian, we followed. We feel her sound advice and veterinary knowledge added good years to the lives of our two oldest, one suffering from kidney failure and the other from cancer. Ultimately both passed away from their incurable conditions but neither would have lived as long and well after their problems were diagnosed without the excellent care prescribed by Dr. Mixon. Another one of our babies is diabetic and she showed us how we could provide his insulin needs by taking glucose reading twice daily and administering the required dosage. Dr Mixon researched all this and set up the program for him. He will live a full, happy life because of this. We have had many felines over the years and have had opportunity to meet many vets. She is right at the top. She is the most capable veterinarian we have known.

I wouldn't want to take my pets anywhere else! They seem to genuinely care about my babies, and treat them as they would their own. My pets seem happy and feel safe when they have to go to the vet now, which is something we've never experienced at the vet before. The staff are amazing, and very helpful. The doctors both seem to care about what I have to say, and take that in to effect when treating my babies.I would highly recommend this veterinary hospital to my friends and neighbors!

Our Yorkie Terrier mix stayed here 6 weeks ago when we had to leave time unexpectedly. Coco is a rescue puppy, we don't know much about her background. I was worried about her since she hadn't been away from us more than a couple hours since we got her the end October. After taking a tour I was sure she would be fine. They answered questions before I had a chance to ask. The staff was extremely friendly when I called and when I went in to see the place she would be staying. When we picked up they was happy to see us, she was well taken care of. We hadn't chosen a vet, we have one now. This was the first place I called and the last. I'm so happy with my choice!!! Thanks so much for taking care of Coco and showing her love!!!!!

Nice vet, clean office. However, she refuses to write your pets prescription. You must pay her super inflated prices for them. She charges $81 for a 30 ct pack of 5mg Vetoryl that I could buy on my online pharmacy for $33. Tests were priced a bit higher. I chose not to purchase or have any further treatment for my pet due to cost and that ridiculous prescription policy.

This is the first time I can honestly say that I enjoyed the experience of taking my dog here and she wasn't nervous like when visiting previous veterinary hospital or clinics. I was given a tour of their beautiful facility. Dr. Mixon and her staff are just awesome! The entire facility was spotless and service they provide is reasonably priced. I will definitely be using West Madison Veterinary Hospital for both of my pets health care needs!

It surprises me that this place has very little reviews! I have never seen another facility such as this one that is so clean. I must say that it feels very comfortable knowing that my pets are in a clean environment! Its unbelievable how dirty other places can be when people board their pets! The employees here are very caring and friendly. My pets absolutely love this place and get very excited when they see this building. I highly recommend that everyone comes here! Great service, clean building, and great employee's!! I know for a fact that I'm getting my money's worth here.

I was wanting a specific shampoo that I had heard of and they even searched the shampoo and the ingredients to make sure what they offered was comparable . I purchased several items from them and they all worked great . The service and staff were genuine and helpful ! They even offered a tour of the boarding area when I inquired about that service . Wonderful, caring folks at West Madison Vet! I have taken my 2 girls (now 3 girls) here since we moved to Alabama almost 3 years ago. . We now live in Meridianville but my husband and I still make the drive for grooming and medical care for our furry 4 legged babies. Probably not the most inexpensive place but the care is fabulous. We have a 10 yr old German Shepard, a 6 year old Lab and a 5 1/2 month old German Shepard, all stages and they answer every question and concern I have, VERY knowledgeable! I highly recommend West Madison Veterinary Hospital and Pet Resort!

A great place! Myself and my babies have followed Dr. Mixon since 2002. From Huntsville, to Madison, and now to her own practice in Madison at Balch Road. CONGRATS DR. MIXON!! I sometimes feel my animals have "grown up with her." When I first met her, she was a recent graduate, unmarried, and a true love for animals. Dr. Mixon is now married with a family and a practice full of lovely employees who give the highest standard of care. She, no matter her location, has always stuck with me through the good and bad with the care of my animals. That is a very TALL statement!! My babies are my family and do not know they are not "human." We first met Dr. Mixon when she was working with another vet office in Madison. That was in 2004 and she has provided excellent care for our babies ever since. When she left that first office around 2012, to start her own practice, West Madison Veterinarian, we followed. We feel her sound advice and veterinary knowledge added good years to the lives of our two oldest, one suffering from kidney failure and the other from cancer. Ultimately both passed away from their incurable conditions but neither would have lived as long and well after their problems were diagnosed without the excellent care prescribed by Dr. Mixon. Another one of our babies is diabetic and she showed us how we could provide his insulin needs by taking glucose reading twice daily and administering the required dosage. Dr Mixon researched all this and set up the program for him. He will live a full, happy life because of this. We have had many felines over the years and have had opportunity to meet many vets. She is right at the top. She is the most capable veterinarian we have known.

I wouldn't want to take my pets anywhere else! They seem to genuinely care about my babies, and treat them as they would their own. My pets seem happy and feel safe when they have to go to the vet now, which is something we've never experienced at the vet before. The staff are amazing, and very helpful. The doctors both seem to care about what I have to say, and take that in to effect when treating my babies.I would highly recommend this veterinary hospital to my friends and neighbors!
