Used Dr. John starting in 1989 he saved a golden retriever I adopted that had stage 4 heart worms. Since this time we have been through several sets of golden retrievers and Labradors. He and his staff have been great friends and treated our pups like apart of there family. Now Dr. John has become on of my dearest friends and I would not let another vet even touch one of our pups. My own family travels from Atlanta and Tuscaloosa to have there animals treated by Dr. John!

They do free nail clipping for previous patients and only charge $10 for non patients. The doctor has had some bad experiences with vaccinations so he likes to break them up, but I think he's just doing it out of best interest for the animals.

Dr. Slaughter and the staff at Cottage Hill Animal Clinic have cared for my pets for 25+ years. I have an American Bull Dog/Boxer and a Mastiff/Boxer, both about 5 years old... and their health is excellent thanks to the personalized care and advice I have received from Dr. Slaughter. From surgeries to grooming, to general health care, he has been right on target every time. Shortly after I rescued these fella's, skin allergies, sneezing and scratching was not being solved by medicated baths, and Dr. Slaughter recommended a change in food. I was focused on high protein foods, and he explained why I needed to change their diet, and what changes I should expect. His first recommendation solved the problem. All of the changes he forecast that we would experience have happened just as he defined them. Great, practical care. Great advice, and a staff that knows my dogs as well as they know their own. I strongly recommend Cottage Hill Animal Clinic.

Across those years, there have been many pets, and many visits to the clinic, and all of my experiences with Dr. Slaughter, and with his staff has been extraordinary. Dr. Slaughter is a wonderful vet. I would never go to another vet. All these reviews are true. The staff is professional, warm, and extremely caring. We have 7 pets. 5 dogs, 2 cats. One of our newer dogs was a poor pitiful lost, or abandoned out in Irvington. She a bad case of red mange. Well 6 weeks later under Dr. Slaughters care along with daily treatments at hoe we have a gorgeous new dog in our home. Shiny, healthy coat and a bouncing happy pup. I hope Dr. Slaughter never retires because I wouldn't know where else to go or who I could trust. I have sent just a few of my friends to C.H.A.C. and they agree. He has the right personality and loves to come to work. You can tell. I forgot to mention here that they bend over backwards to give us a fair break financially. With all these pets that could add up to thousands a year. So that part is greatly appreciated as well.

One bill was 1500 and he reduced it to 1200 and we were allowed to make payments until it was paid off. He has showed up on a Sunday morning to take care of our dogs and not charge a penny. This woman is full of it !!!!!!! He will remain our vet for as long as we own animals!

I live a good bit away from him now and pass many vets but only trust him. His staff is efficient and make sure you leave with everything you need and don't hassle you to buy unnecessary products just to make money and I like that. Some vets are more interested in selling collars and shampoo than the animal and their health. I am a overprotective pet owner and only trust him and his staff with my pets.

My friend uses Cottage Hill Animal Clinic for the care of her dog and she uses only the best veterinary clinic! All who know how much she cares for her dog realize this fact also. Friends are always asking her which vet she uses! I have accompanied her to this clinic many times and I, too, agree that the staff is made up of wonderful individuals. As I sit and wait on her to return to the waiting area, I am aware of the caring and compassonate attitude of everyone who works there. If I owned a pet, I would use Cottage Hill Animal Clinic.

Anyone who knows me understands that I will use only the best veterinarian for the care and well being of my best friend. All the staff who serve at the Cottage Hil Animal Clinic treats everyone who enters the doors as if they are family. My dog loves to go to "her second home" so much that she bounds in my lap as I park my car. She cannot wait to see her "human friends" who are there! She loves over-night boarding stays when I am out of town. If you love your "best friend" as I do mine, you will go nowhere else.

They do free nail clipping for previous patients and only charge $10 for non patients. The doctor has had some bad experiences with vaccinations so he likes to break them up, but I think he's just doing it out of best interest for the animals.

Dr. Slaughter and the staff at Cottage Hill Animal Clinic have cared for my pets for 25+ years. I have an American Bull Dog/Boxer and a Mastiff/Boxer, both about 5 years old... and their health is excellent thanks to the personalized care and advice I have received from Dr. Slaughter. From surgeries to grooming, to general health care, he has been right on target every time. Shortly after I rescued these fella's, skin allergies, sneezing and scratching was not being solved by medicated baths, and Dr. Slaughter recommended a change in food. I was focused on high protein foods, and he explained why I needed to change their diet, and what changes I should expect. His first recommendation solved the problem. All of the changes he forecast that we would experience have happened just as he defined them. Great, practical care. Great advice, and a staff that knows my dogs as well as they know their own. I strongly recommend Cottage Hill Animal Clinic.

Across those years, there have been many pets, and many visits to the clinic, and all of my experiences with Dr. Slaughter, and with his staff has been extraordinary. I have an American Bull Dog/Boxer and a Mastiff/Boxer, both about 5 years old. Their health is excellent thanks to the personalized care and advice I have received. Dr. Slaughter is a wonderful vet. I would never go to another vet. All these reviews are true. The staff is professional, warm, and extremely caring. We have 7 pets. 5 dogs, 2 cats. One of our newer dogs was a poor pitiful lost, or abandoned out in Irvington. She a bad case of red mange. Well 6 weeks later under Dr. Slaughters care along with daily treatments at hoe we have a gorgeous new dog in our home. Shiny, healthy coat and a bouncing happy pup. I hope Dr. Slaughter never retires because I wouldn't know where else to go or who I could trust. I have sent just a few of my friends to C.H.A.C. and they agree. He has the right personality and loves to come to work. You can tell. I forgot to mention here that they bend over backwards to give us a fair break financially. With all these pets that could add up to thousands a year. So that part is greatly appreciated as well.

That woman never paid a dime!!! Did she not know it was going to cost when she took the dog there? Dr. Slaughter has taken care of all of my dogs! One bill was 1500 and he reduced it to 1200 and we were allowed to make payments until it was paid off. He has showed up on a Sunday morning to take care of our dogs and not charge a penny. This woman is full of it !!!!!!! He will remain our vet for as long as we own animals!

Dr Slaughter is a awesome vet. He loves his job and it shows. He will do anything to help the client understand any concerns he has. I live a good bit away from him now and pass many vets but only trust him. His staff is efficient and make sure you leave with everything you need and don't hassle you to buy unnecessary products just to make money and I like that. Some vets are more interested in selling collars and shampoo than the animal and their health. I am a overprotective pet owner and only trust him and his staff with my pets.

I took my dog in for a Dental Cleaning. I found the staff to be very efficient and welcoming. As soon as the procedure was completed I was notified and updated on my animals condition. I picked my baby up several hours later and she looked awesome! I expected her to be drowsy, and confused. She was neither. She was totally with the program and her teeth looked great! I will not hesitate to use this vet again.

I can not say Dr Slaughter's name to my dog Will without him wanting to get in the car immediately to go see him and the staff. He loves them as much as he loves me. I board Will there and he groomed there as well. Cleanliness is of great importance in order to avoid any spread of infection or contamination. Five star rating it is!

My friend uses Cottage Hill Animal Clinic for the care of her dog and she uses only the best veterinary clinic! All who know how much she cares for her dog realize this fact also. Friends are always asking her which vet she uses! I have accompanied her to this clinic many times and I, too, agree that the staff is made up of wonderful individuals. As I sit and wait on her to return to the waiting area, I am aware of the caring and compassonate attitude of everyone who works there. If I owned a pet, I would use Cottage Hill Animal Clinic.

Anyone who knows me understands that I will use only the best veterinarian for the care and well being of my best friend. All the staff who serve at the Cottage Hil Animal Clinic treats everyone who enters the doors as if they are family. My dog loves to go to "her second home" so much that she bounds in my lap as I park my car. She cannot wait to see her "human friends" who are there! She loves over-night boarding stays when I am out of town. If you love your "best friend" as I do mine, you will go nowhere else.
