We took our cat to have her teeth removed on June 13th. He didn't do it that day as promised and kept her there until the next day. She then died while doing a routine tooth removal (routine by his words). He didn't even come and talk to us when we picked her body up. He sent an assistant to do his dirty work. Me and my husband aren't having children. She was my child. Now we have a 4 year old cat who is dead. He could of told us yesterday he couldn't do it and we would've picked her up. Instead he waited until they were closed to call and say it was postponed. We are heartbroken and confused.

Unprofessional staff! We had a bad experience and cannot even share our review without the clinic falsly reporting it! The staff reports any negative review, although legitimate, then uses friends and employees spouses/family to flood positive reviews. Just ask around town, Duke animal clinics reputation speaks for itself and Dr Mims takes most of the accolades. If a business gets so worked up and has the time to troll Google daily, they may not be the best business to trust with your pets care.

I have used Duke animal clinic for 30 years with large and small animals. Dr. Duke has always gone above and beyond in taking care of our animals along with Dr. Justin Mims.. The Doctors have gone to extra lengths to treat my animals in the best way possible. Staff is good and always try to help in anyway they can. They also take after hours calls for established clients. Dr. Duke specializes in dentistry and has clients come from all over the Gulf Coast. I can't tell you how happy I am with this clinic.

Our experience and humble opinion... 1) Dr. Duke was condescending in the way he spoke to us, especially if he was speaking directly to a female. 2) He listened to nothing WE stated about our pet and their recent health troubles, then repeated the very same statements as if he just diagnosed them himself. 3) Dr.Duke paid ZERO attention to the cardiologists report on the protocol for her patient to undergo anesthesia for an urgent dental. 4) Left me feeling very uneasy about the potential thought of my dog being in his care. 5) He is also VERY flighty, aloof and kind of "out there" (for lack of better words). It was very hard to stay on topic and get to the point. 6) We waited over 45 minutes to be taken to the exam room to wait even longer. 7) None of the staff we encountered seemed to have any idea what was going on around there, or even on earth at all. I hate to sound so critical but there may be a reason for the negative reviews on staff turnover, but a better reason as to why the constant change in staff at all.

I have been using Duke since 2011. I have always been pleased with the veterinarians at Duke, and until a year ago was please with the office staff. But a year ago, I noticed a lot of turnover in the office. Now, Duke's office is an administrative nightmare.
Until Duke is able to retain a front office staff long enough to attain seasoned, well functioning staff employees, I would avoid this clinic.

Dr. Duke and Dr. Newcombe are the best vets I have ever known. I have used 4 other vets in my 69 years and they don't even compare to the Duke clinic. They are reasonable also.

Everyone is compassionate and caring. Dear Mims gave me 8 extra months with one of my babies that had kidney failure. Sadly I lost her a week ago. Dr. Newsom is the one we usually see and she is so caring with just minor problems or in an emergency. Finally I found vets that I can truly trust and know that the care of my babies are their main concern. Thank you so much for your caring and concern. The staff are the best I have ever encountered. They ALL truly care about the animals and the owners.

Best vets in town! Dr. Mims saved our cat after she got out and was hit by a car. We wouldn't have her today if it wasn't for him. Dr. Newsome also has saved the life of a kitten we got last summer as a foster and we decided to keep. The vets at Duke are the most amazing vets I have used. Along with all the clinic staff, they are the best in town. I wouldn't trust any one else with my pets.

New to the area & needed a vet for a new cat that "adopted" me while camping in Mississippi. They were fantastic, from front desk staff to both vets (Ellen Newsome & Emily Hudson) that checked her out & did her spay. Dr. Hudson even called to let me know her surgery had gone well & she was awake. I thought the prices were good, staff was great, & clinic was clean/well run. Will definitely bring my menagerie of critters back & will recommend to others!

We took our cat to have her teeth removed on June 13th. He didn't do it that day as promised and kept her there until the next day. Mr.Duke him self is a heartless @$$! He tortured my baby with a needle that was too big,jabbing it in and out making my baby cry out and whine before she was gone. Never go here!

Dr duke is an insensitive crule jurk. He did not sedate my baby enough,then used too big of a needle and kept shoving it in and out so much that she was in pain scared crying out till she finally left...

Everyone is compassionate and caring. Dear Mims gave me 8 extra months with one of my babies that had kidney failure. Sadly I lost her a week ago. Dr. Newsom is the one we usually see and she is so caring with just minor problems or in an emergency. Finally I found vets that I can truly trust and know that the care of my babies are their main concern. Thank you so much for your caring and concern. The staff are the best I have ever encountered. They ALL truly care about the animals and the owners.

My 13yo English Springer Spaniel was very sick. After spending a night in the Vet ER, I just showed up on a Saturday with no scheduled appointment very worried and had never seen him before. Dr. Duke was nice enough to stay late and look at him. Ollie is alive today thanks to him. Great guy. great place. very affordable. I highly recommend them!

Best vets in town! Dr. Mims saved our cat after she got out and was hit by a car. We wouldn't have her today if it wasn't for him. Dr. Newsome also has saved the life of a kitten we got last summer as a foster and we decided to keep. The vets at Duke are the most amazing vets I have used. Along with all the clinic staff, they are the best in town. I wouldn't trust any one else with my pets.

We LOVE Dr. Mims & Dr. Hudson! The vets here see our goats, livestock guardian dogs, and barn cats. I've had quick, knowledgeable service with emergencies and appointments.

New to the area & needed a vet for a new cat that "adopted" me while camping in Mississippi. They were fantastic, from front desk staff to both vets (Ellen Newsome & Emily Hudson) that checked her out & did her spay. Dr. Hudson even called to let me know her surgery had gone well & she was awake. I thought the prices were good, staff was great, & clinic was clean/well run. Will definitely bring my menagerie of critters back & will recommend to others!

Duke animal clinic is amazing they took in my squirrel when he was sick about two years ago! i called every place from mobile to lucedale to try to save my little man. thank goodness they were only 10 minutes from my house. i really wish i would have brought my bunnies and my 24yr old dog to them! i now take my boykin spaniel there and i will not take him anywhere else!!!
