I took my dog here when I got him neutered and that was only because of how close it is to my house. The vet was professional and personable, his staff on the other hand is not. The front desk lady is rude and had a nice nasty attitude with me over the phone today as I was calling to continue my business with them. I tried to call 3 different times on my lunch break and each time the line was busy so I decided I would call right when I got off. I called a few times because I am frantic trying to get my dog to see someone because I'm concerned. She made it apparent that the reason she didn't answer my call was because she was helping an elderly customer to their car...trying to make me feel bad for calling? Because I knew they closed at 5:30 and really needed to make an appointment for my sweet baby to get seen. Dr. Mitchell is very kind and gentle with his patients. He takes the time to explain what's going on with your pet which makes it easy to decide what direction to go with treatment. Dr. Mitchell stayed late on a Saturday and ran several tests for my Mom's cat, Ziggy, who has had a severe cough for months. He listened actively and provided lots of information, including sending copies of Ziggy's x-rays to my Mom's cell phone and a printed out copy of blood work results to keep for her records. He even drew a chart while discussing different possibilities of what could be going on before the results were available. They were very up front with her about costs and developed a solid treatment plan for her cat, offering options and giving great home care advice and information. After moving to this area, it took my going to 3 other vets before finding the EXCELLENT Dr. Mitchell. I felt at home the first time I walked in the door. He gives each of my dogs individual care. He is knowledgeable on a variety of canine areas, including behaviors. Mrs. Mitchell also works at the clinic and I love the way she staggers appointments, so never find myself trying to manage my dogs in a waiting area full of snapping other dogs and cats. It took me 5 unpleasant years with other vets until my groomer recommended Dr. Mitchell. It was worth the wait to find him and his wife. I tell everyone I know he is the best vet in the area. I have used the 2 most expensive Vets in the area, until I found the Mitchells. I have a lot of experience with both cats & dogs and I just love that they don't recommend procedures just to make $. Dr. Mitchell is by far the best vet I have ever used in 30+ years of pet ownership! He was always generous with his time, not only in caring for my pets, but in giving me detailed explanations of what was going on with them and how to care for them after the visit. When my dog was in the clinic for a few days over the holidays, both Dr. Mitchell and Maggie called with updates, even during off-hours. Dr. Mitchell and Maggie are amazing and I am so thankful for the way they treated my two very sick babies who are not both home and back to normal! I would never even consider going to anyone else after using Dr. Mitchell, you can honestly see that him and Maggie both truly care for and love animals! Definitely is way more about the babies and making them well and going above and beyond what I have normally seen with vets and to top it off they aren't piling up a huge bill on you full of unnecessary things. I can not rave about the Mitchell Animal Clinic enough! Today I took my fancy mouse for the first time to the clinic due to respiratory issues. The veterinarian was VERY informative, extremely educated in small animals, and left open the options for me (the owner) to personally choose. I did not feel that he was pushy for a certain treatment, like some vets do trying to rack up a big bill. He laid everything out from the medical books, and then gave his personal opinion. The office visit was very reasonable! Some pet owners of small animals tend not to seek care due to pricey office visits, but I can honestly say that today I only paid $25 and an additional $20 for medication. I have never walked out of an animal clinic for only $45 dollars, and the best part of it was that I truly felt that they cared for my animal. If you are on the fence about not knowing which vet to go to, please do give this clinic a chance. My mouse & I are glad we sure did! Read Less

We hesitated about taking our "mountain lion" to the vet, but heard such wonderful things about the staff and Dr. Mitchell that we thought we would give it a try. IT EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS!!! We had our 2 children with us and they were included in all conversations and instructions. All of our questions were answered (even the ones from the children) with no hesitations or frustrations. Everything was clearly explained and options about treatment given. We were very happy with every aspect of our visit, from appointment setting to "refilling" needed meds. He has been for an ear cleaning, yearly shots & was also neutered by Dr. Mitchell. Dr. Mitchell & his staff take great care of my pet. I don't write reviews often but I wanted to give kudos to Dr. Mitchell and his staff. My cat Quizzy has had several visits, that included X rays for his leg, and an infection on his tail that needed several different treatments,and various other illness. They are always kind, he takes his time and explains what needs to be done or what has happened. I usually just give them a phone call and ask when is a good time. They are also very reasonable priced compared to other the other vets in the Mobile area. My mom is now using them for her 2 cats and has been very pleased. Great Job Dr.Mitchell and Mrs.Mitchell! My dog has severe allergies. After being a long term client of his, we took my dog in frantically because he was having a really bad reaction. I knew to get him there and hopefully we'd get some help. When I ran in with him, the wife asked if I had an appt. I said no, but my dog Bax is having a reaction. She responded that they were going to lunch in 20 minutes and maybe next time I'd make an appt. Astonished and ticked that the vet who is suppost to care about your pet said this, we will never go back . My dog deserves a doctor who cares all the time. Read Less
