Dr Leslie is the only vet I know that gets down on the floor with his patients. And also the only clinic that will offer info on home cooked diets, and nutrition. Yesterday we had to make then hard decision to put our dog to sleep because of what was wrong with her. We got there to sign the consent papers. As I was finishing signing them we were told that Dr. Leslie wanted to talk to us. He was waiting in the room they took us in to let us know that our dog was taking her last breathes and if we wanted to be with her we needed to go back there with her now. We got back there just in time to pet her and tell her good bye as she took her last two breathes. Dr. Leslie even lifted her head up and sweetly put a sheet under her head. He told us we could sit there as long as we needed to. After a few minutes he checked her again an told us she was gone. When we said we were ready he asked us whether we wanted to take her home for burial. We did and him and his staff wrapped her up in the sheet when brought with her and put her in a burial box( something I never knew existed till yesterday) and very gently brought her out to our car( which was a feat cause she had to have weight at least 100lbs) I will forever be grateful for the kindness shown to us on that very awful day and would recommend him to anyone looking for a vet who genuinely cares for not only the pets he cares for but for their humans as well.Read Less

My friend suggested Dr. Leslie when we knew it was likely time for our Syd to go to sleep. End of life is not the usual time to change vets, but I just never loved our usual one, and I didn't want to feel bad or feel judged during this particular vet appointment. Dr. Leslie, took his time with me to go through all options, and he was so kind to us throughout the visit. Today, we received a card from LSU Veterinarian School, notifying us that they made a donation in Syd's name. When we are ready to have another dog, I have no doubt where I will take him. Read Less

The most dog-friendly vet around. I am in the "dog profession" as a training instructor and I have my own boarding location, and Roxy Leslie is my NUMBER ONE go-to veterinarian. Since I have scores upon scores of clients, I know about a great number of vets. Roxy beats them all. If he doesn't know something he's not going to bull*hit around and run yup your bill by guessing. Dr. Leslie took care of my puppy when she contracted cryptococcus. He went into the clinic every three hours no matter day, night or weekend. The absolute best. I adore Dr. Leslie and staff, so happy to be back with them after living out of state for years. They truly care about your animals and don't immediately push the most invasive/expensive treatment like other vets I've used....unless that is in the animal's best interest. My cats love Dr. Leslie and Mary and their staff. Everyone is very helpful and will answer all your questions and offer any advice needed. My little kitty was just spayed and is bouncing around the house like nothing happened at all. Dr. Leslie gave her lots of kisses when she had an eye infection, which made her feel better because I was a little nervous about her eyes. They gave her the right medicine with lots of love, and she is a happy kitty. My other cats love him too, he's very easy going with the pets and the humans. Highly recommend. Read Less

I read the other persons review and thought " I've reviewed Village Animal Clinic before , several times , it's just now , there are so many different sites you can go to for reviews of businesses !! I only recently learned of " Yelp"..I do agree with what he said, I believe I get the best care for my animals and Dr. Leslie is just super awesome !! My sister and dad raved about him so when I was looking to change my vet , naturally , I switched to him and it was the best decision I ever made . Not only is he a great Veterinarian, he's also just a super nice funny , great guy who loves the same pretzels I do !! Lol  seriously, it's nice going to a place where everyone knows you and they know your pets, so not only do you get quality care , you get personal care as well ... Dr. Leslie has done surgery twice now on my male German shepherd and both times , my dog-Harley , has done very well afterward . I've never worried, I've always had complete confidence in everyone there , they are truly a great group of people you would want taking care of your animals!!And a little side note here : the very first veterinarian office I ever used as an adult when I got my first dog out on my own was " Village Animal Clinic", and I believe the year was 1982, not sure , and I believe the vet's name that started the clinic was Dr. Hugh Pickett. It's really important to me to take my dog to a vet who not only makes my dog feel comfortable, but makes me feel comfortable as well. This Dr took time to talk to me, was very personable and caring. This is not the type of place that will try and take advantage of you or try and hustle you into spending more money. My dog was unusually relaxed during his visit and we had a great experience. The care that was provided for my beloved dog was loving, caring and efficient. This Vet is awesome & I can't say enough nice things about this place! I highly recommend it to any pet owner.
