This is the best vet we have ever been to! We have a redtick hound, Rosco, who is the sweetest boy, but HATES having his nails trimmed. The tech who had the (mis)fortune of handling Rosco could not have been more patient and understanding. He actually laid down on the ground with Rosco, snuggled him, and sang to him while another tech clipped his nails. I can't imagine you could go anywhere else and receive service like this! Dr. Nelson has always been wonderful. However, her staff has been less than helpful for a while now. They are also overpriced for vets in the area as well. The final straw for me was their lack of compassion and annoyance when I came in to put up a flyer for my missing pet. They were the ONLY ones to treat me this way and I've been a customer elsewhere since. Just wish I had moved to my other vet sooner where I receive excellent customer service, compassion and better prices. Read Less

On Friday very close to closing time I called with grave concerns the my 14 yr old Aussie had a stroke, they really calmed me down after explaining what she was doing. Set me up an appointment on Saturday morning to find out she had an ear infection € They give me meds needed and the piece of mind for me. They seem to know how to treat my puppy well. I can always come in within a few hours of calling short notice. They gave me free heartworm meds and flea meds when I expressed concern about the cost. They didn't charge me for an extra exam when we came back for shots. And they gave my puppy treats to help with her anxiety. Read Less

Dr. Nelson is the best around! I am very thankful that I met her after some very bad experiences with other vets. She has met me 2 times after hours to take care of my baby. She even went as far as to give me her personal cell number so I could contact her for any questions or concerns I had. I always have and will recommend her. Not sure where all the complaints come from, but I assure you Rachel is one of the best around. Coming from raising a Shepherd in California, and bouncing from vet to vet because of the lack of quality, to here, prices obviously do not bother me at all. In the end, you get what you pay for, and I assure you Rachel is one of the best docs for your animals, and has their best interest in mind when it comes to procedures. I also like the staff there as well, as they are all very kind, and some are very easy to speak to there. Before moving out west she was my vet, and after moving back she will remain my vet. I have had several dogs and have had every kind of problem you can imagine and have always received the greatest kind of help here. I had one dog who fell out of the truck and shattered his hip. I called them, very upset, and although I called them right at closing time, they waited on us to get there. They helped us tremendously and very compassionately cared for our dog. I don't know what I would have done without them. Our other dogs have had illnesses including mysterious stomach ailments, etc. and they have been helped with the very best of care. I feel it is very important to build relationships with your pet clinic. All this place is interested in doing is scaring you into buying all the services they offer. Apparently my healthy 6 month old puppy will die and my children will get very sick from our puppy if I don't buy everything they recommend. I felt they were very rude and my 4 children that were with me confirmed that. As soon as we left, my seven year old said, wow those people are really rude. Little do they know, I have had a few pets over the years and have never been treated this way and have never been in a pet clinic that SMELLED SO BAD! Read Less

The first trip I was double charged for immunization our Boxer had already been given ( ironic enough the previous clinic wouldn't answer). This trip the price for pain meds after my dogs operation were way more than quoted price. My wife felt as if she had been been taken advantage of. The Vet treated her as if she was an animal hater all because she was torn about pain meds or not. Why would pain meds be optional and then raise the price after surgery just to hold you hostage. People that go hear are be taking through the cleaners. This clinic smells like dog poop as well !!! Read Less

Although the Dr. Seems very good her staff and the revolving door of other doctors results in a communication breakdown. Add to that not getting a straight answer about charges nor changes in treatment while my dog was there. I ended up paying more that I was quoted and getting fewer services preformed. With everything being overpriced you would expect a staff more capable. They only seemed proficient at answering the phone and running my credit card. Made an appt for my very sick dog thinking we still has a care credit account but it was canceled due to inactivity for to many years and we couldn't get approved for another one since we only have 1 income now, so I called them back and explained to them our money situation and told them that my dog had literally just used the bathroom in my kitchen floor and it was nothing but blood and that I am deathly afraid she won't make it much longer at the rate she is going pooping that much blood and asked if we could set up a payment arrangement so my poor dog could be seen today and she said no they require full payment up front for an exam and X-ray it would only be around $100 just to see what was wrong with her but no they turned me away and said they would cancel my appt. As much as they charge for a damn X-ray($75 btw) for just ONE VIEW and $40 for a visit they couldn't wait 2 damn weeks for us to pay them the other half so I could get my dog in TODAY to be seen!!!! I have 2 and 3yr old little boys that have known my dog since the day they were born and if they have to watch her die they will be absolutely devastated!!! They obviously care more about the money they make than the animals they could help! Read Less

I have been very pleased with all the care our 16 year old pound puppy has gotten from Crossroads.  I used to have to drag Katie in when we went to another vet but she walks right in the door at Crossroads.  That tells me a lot.  Plus when I pick her up from a day of grooming and annual shots, etc., she's ready to go and I never wait long to get the report on what they did so we can head home.  Yes, I said 16  years old and that's a pretty good recommendation. We've had a very good experience with Crossroads and "Dr. Rachel" for many years - they took care of our sheltie like she was family, and called her and us by name when we walk in.  We have a new sheltie puppy now and are also taking her to Crossroads when she needs a vet or checkup.  They provide excellent veterinary care and boarding services.
