I cannot recommend this vet's office highly enough. One of my guinea pigs was sick for the first time and I was recommended to come here as Dr. Rider is one of the only vets in the Auburn/Opelika area who specializes in "exotics." The staff was not only incredibly warm and friendly but very efficient and got me in for an emergency appointment in almost no time. It only took Dr. Rider about 2 minutes to figure out what was going on with my little guy and prescribe him the necessary antibiotics. Most importantly, she used the remaining appointment time to talk to me about what I should expect if the illness either progressed or resolved and how to administer antibiotics/hand-feed a squirmy guinea pig. I never felt rushed or stupid for bringing in a rodent to see her, and she took the time to answer every worried question I had about him. I'm incredibly type A about my animals and the care they receive and I trusted her completely. We love Dr. Rider! She and the rest of the staff take great care of our boys, Marley (pug) and Sir Purr (kitty)! Dr. Rider and her awesome vet techs have been my #1 choice and always my highest recommendation since my German Shepherd, Koen, turned 1 (he'll be 6 this Fall). They're great with Koen: He loves their attention and they comfort him through his shots, etc. They're also always a pleasure to talk to, but I suppose anyone who loves my man's best friend would be great to be around!
