The Doctor and staff were extremely nice, but the amount I was charged was OUTRAGEOUS. I have never received a bill so high in all my years of pet ownership. I used them because they were open on Sunday and my regular vet was closed. My bill was right under $1000 dollars for 2 nights of care. It would have been maybe half that at my regular vet for the same services. Though the care they provided was excellent, their prices are way too high.

Took my puppy in with Parvo. They actually saved her life with Parvo Treatment and took wonderful care of her! Unfortunately, she started have seisures soon after recovery and was suffering miserably....

Unfortunately, she started have seisures soon after recovery and was suffering miserably. North Shelby didn't charge us for euthanization. Wonderful people! They will forever be our fur babies doctors.

We wouldn't take our fur babies anywhere else. The Doctors and their support team are incredible . We were here last October to update vaccinations and nail trims for our 2 dogs and they happened to have a few kittens for adoption so we asked to see them. Isabella was the first and only for us. It was love at first sight. Thanks to everyone at North Shelby Animal Hospital.

This is a group that really cares about your pets! Dr. Hicks and Dr. Jordan both have an amazing bedside manner. They were ALWAYS upfront with us about the seriousness of any issues going on with our dog, Ace, and never inflated any costs. Dr. Hicks was a constant presence the last month of Ace's life (after his cancer diagnosis) She called us regularly just to check on him even though his treatment was being handled by an oncologist at a different veterinary office. The techs and office staff are warm and helpful as well. I never had to explain who I was or the situation because once I said "Ace", they knew what was going on. I really can't say enough about them. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Beware if you have a large dog!!! This may not be the vet for you.Shae Hicks was the vet that we saw. She was visibly very nervous from the moment she walked into the room and saw our dog. He is a big guy weighing around 100 lbs but he was not acting out or being uncooperative. He didn't even get a good exam because when she tried to look at him she was hesitant and afraid to touch him. So, she commented that she didn't really need to look at him anyway. I have never seen anything like it from anyone at a vets office, much less from an actual vet. My dog was in a lot of pain but he was being very good. I could have overlooked her odd behavior possibly but when my dog walked away from her to stand beside us she commented that she felt he was "being aggressive". He made no aggressive actions whatsoever. As a vet, surely the doctor should know the danger associated with naming any dog aggressive... especially one so large. I was so upset by that point it took a lot of self control to be polite. I went to this clinic because I heard good things... but obviously either I saw the wrong doctor or I have the wrong type of dog for their clinic.

I chose North Shelby County Animal Hospital for my pet when my Veterinarian at the time made a pretty costly mistake in the treatment of my Chihuahua. If it wouldn't have been for the doctors and staff at North Shelby my pet would have lost his eye. Thankfully, they were willing to try a procedure to save his eye before taking the easy way out and removing it. I was very pleased with the knowledge of the doctors, the friendliness of the staff, and the willingness of all involved to work with me and explain everything thoroughly through the weeks of treatment. I am very thankful for them and would recommend them to anyone who loves their pet!

I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone that has a pet! The Veterinarians are very knowledgeable about the care and treatment that is appropriate for each pet, and will continue to work with the owners to establish the best plan of treatment for every situation. The staff is very friendly and shows that they really care for the welfare of the animals and will do anything to help make a visit to the hospital a pleasant one for pets and owners. I love this place and will always bring my pets here!!

My neighbor told me about north Shelby and how much she loved it. when my 11 year old dog became sick and I couldn't get into my regular vet, I called NS. They told me to come in immediately and saw my dog right away. I can't say enough positive things about them- from their sincere care, to their love for their job, to their expertise. They saved my dog's life and treated her and myself with care each time we visited. All of the doctors are wonderful and I've never had a bad experience. NS will definitely be my regular vet on a permanent basis.

This clinic is very good for boarding your dog or cat. They usually can fit us in last minute except around holidays like Christmas that fill up fast. I like how the staff recognizes our pets and talks to them like they were their own ( we do unfortunately have to board a good bit) The Sunday afternoon pick up is also really nice. We have not had to see the vets yet but they seem friendly and nice when we are dropping off the 4 legged kids.

Beware if you have a large dog!!! This may not be the vet for you.Shae Hicks was the vet that we saw. She was visibly very nervous from the moment she walked into the room and saw our dog. He is a big guy weighing around 100 lbs but he was not acting out or being uncooperative. He didn't even get a good exam because when she tried to look at him she was hesitant and afraid to touch him. So, she commented that she didn't really need to look at him anyway. I have never seen anything like it from anyone at a vets office, much less from an actual vet. My dog was in a lot of pain but he was being very good. I could have overlooked her odd behavior possibly but when my dog walked away from her to stand beside us she commented that she felt he was "being aggressive". He made no aggressive actions whatsoever. As a vet, surely the doctor should know the danger associated with naming any dog aggressive... especially one so large. I was so upset by that point it took a lot of self control to be polite. I went to this clinic because I heard good things... but obviously either I saw the wrong doctor or I have the wrong type of dog for their clinic.

I chose North Shelby County Animal Hospital for my pet when my Veterinarian at the time made a pretty costly mistake in the treatment of my Chihuahua. If it wouldn't have been for the doctors and staff at North Shelby my pet would have lost his eye. Thankfully, they were willing to try a procedure to save his eye before taking the easy way out and removing it. I was very pleased with the knowledge of the doctors, the friendliness of the staff, and the willingness of all involved to work with me and explain everything thoroughly through the weeks of treatment. I am very thankful for them and would recommend them to anyone who loves their pet!

I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone that has a pet! The Veterinarians are very knowledgeable about the care and treatment that is appropriate for each pet, and will continue to work with the owners to establish the best plan of treatment for every situation. The staff is very friendly and shows that they really care for the welfare of the animals and will do anything to help make a visit to the hospital a pleasant one for pets and owners. I love this place and will always bring my pets here!!

My neighbor told me about north Shelby and how much she loved it. when my 11 year old dog became sick and I couldn't get into my regular vet, I called NS. They told me to come in immediately and saw my dog right away. I can't say enough positive things about them- from their sincere care, to their love for their job, to their expertise. They saved my dog's life and treated her and myself with care each time we visited. All of the doctors are wonderful and I've never had a bad experience. NS will definitely be my regular vet on a permanent basis.

This clinic is very good for boarding your dog or cat. They usually can fit us in last minute except around holidays like Christmas that fill up fast. I like how the staff recognizes our pets and talks to them like they were their own ( we do unfortunately have to board a good bit) The Sunday afternoon pick up is also really nice. We have not had to see the vets yet but they seem friendly and nice when we are dropping off the 4 legged kids.

In life we have some people we could just not do without. For me and my family of animals, Dr. Chandler and Dr. Jordan top that list! As the proud (and sometimes stressed!) owner of 8 cats, a bloodhound, a dashund and a boxer I am so grateful and appreciative of the care and time these wonderful folks give to my little rescued family. It is hard to find healthcare professionals that take the time to listen, to work through problems and provide such caring advice and solutions.
