Very helpful when I found a dog and they scanned for a microchip to get the baby home!!!! Have taken our dogs there also and they were very good with them. Just wish the prices weren't so high. But guess it's like all vets! They do offer military Wednesdays I believe but you have to make sure to mention you are military so they can honor those prices on the specific day or you are out of luck like I was which was very disappointing! We have had 3 visits at this Vet since moving here and every visit has been an excellent experience. From the front desk staff, nurses, assistants to the Veterinarians, every person is pleasant and demonstrates through good service their commitment and love for what they do. To show just how vested they are in good customer service, we had an experience that they handled with absolute professionalism and courtesy. I got an an appointment time mixed up and sent my husband with our dog on the wrong day to have a procedure. Instead of sending him and the dog away, the staff coordinated and the vet was able to perform the procedure that day. Even if they had not been able to see her the same day, the politeness and respect they showed us in handling the situation really made us feel confident we had chosen the right Vet. We were there yesterday because our maltese suddenly got sick. First, let me say I chose 3 not necessarily for the service but because I had to choose something. My preference is dr. Cashwell. She always seems very compassionate. I'm not sure who the dr I saw was. I don't think she even introduced herself. However, after I got home she called and told me our little guy had died on the xray table. I realize staff changes however from the front desk which gives the first impression I definitely liked the past staff. Read Less

Well on several occasions in the last years. I have had the best experience. This week I went in and my dog was in a bad situation with another. We waited to go, thinking he would be okay . He had long hair and it masked whatever we could see... low and behold an infection got really bad, fast. Today is 6 days later and we went to get checked out a few times to be safe. He would jump out of the car and run to the door of this place, barking to get in. He knew that they were fixing him. That made me so happy. The BEST vet I've ever been to! I have two dogs and two cats and I take them all there on a regular basis for grooming and vet visits. I highly recommend them to any new friends moving into the area. It's nice to have a place that actually remembers you and doesn't treat you like another patient they have to get through. I always feel like the vet and the techs give me their full attention, and are always so patient with all of my questions. I've boarded my cats there twice for holidays too. Hands down, best Vet Clinic I've ever been too!! Took my 2 babies for their 1 year check-ups and annual vaccines today. 1 cat is a social butterfly and the other is a shy, hermit crab. The staff went above and beyond to ensure both kitties were comfortable and happy (as they could be) during the exam. I was impressed with how thorough the exams were and how friendly Dr. Davis and Amanda were. They were very patient, which isn't always easy when you have nervous kitties. I've used CAH for a while on and off. When I first started taking my pets there I saw Dr. Cashwell, I definitely prefer the older staff over their newer staff. They aren't as professional as before. Dr. Davis, is judgemental , I hear it in her voice, I had to have my Tabby put to sleep this week and I paid the bill ,today I get a voice message saying they forgot to charge me for her boarding $32.50. Between the x-rays and the euthanasia it was over $ 200 . I dropped her off around 8am and she was put down around 3pm. It hit me the wrong way, but they did send a sympathy card to me.i think I will move on from CAH. Read Less

We were truly blessed in choosing this facility. They have always maintained the highest standards of genuinely caring, honest advice and the care of our 14 year old "pet" was always exceptional over the years. They are also very upfront about cost and they do not "try to make extra money" by taking advantage of a situation. Our cat wasn't acting like he usually did. We could tell something wasn't right. At the appointment, they discussed at length and in specific detail - icluding cost - our options. The tests came back fine. The exam showed a small problem that was alleviated by medicine. At the 1 week checkup they told us to stop the antibiotic and finish the other meds. And they began to prepare us for what may come next due to his age. I returned frantically a week later and they seen us immediately. After they examined him, it was amazing how gentle and reassuring they were in making sure we knew we had been great pet owners and that we had done everything possible. It was as if they sensed we had doubts about what else could be done. She gently advised us that it was time. Our pet's quality of life was deteriorating and nothing else could be done without him suffering immensely. We didn't want that. We were so thankful for their honesty and the reassurance we were making the right decision. They treated us all like family as the measure to euthanize him proceeded. I love Dr Davis and the staff at Companion! They always put your pet's care above all else! My Bully was hit by a car, the Emergency Animal Center wouldn't see him because we didn't have $150 on hand to give them! Companion didn't care about the money! They gave our baby the best care and saved his life! They worked out a payment plan for us and continued to care for him. I highly recommend Dr. Cashwell and the staff at Companion. My 9 year old peekapoo recently developed some problems urinating due to a stone in his penis. Never in my life have I ever come across a Veterinarians so well educated, humble and compassionate as Dr. Cashwell and Dr. Davis. Back in 2010, my family traveled 1500 miles across country to Fort Benning. We rolled into town just as most military families do, without a knowing a soul or having a trusted circle. Companion Animal Hospital came highly recommended through the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and they did not disappoint. They were the only accredited veterinarian within a 50 mile radius of the Columbus-Phenix City area, and it gave us a ton of reassurance that they would be a good choice.To further back up our decision, we moved here with our four legged feline son who had a preexisting condition (read: when it rains it pours). When I mustered up the courage to call, the voice on the other end (Tracey) was such a humble and caring breath of fresh air. She listened to my babbling through tears and gave unconditional support. She had Dr. Cashwell call me personally, who took the time to speak with me over the phone for almost 45 minutes before even meeting us, or even becoming a client. It is that level of dedication to animal care that adds immeasurable value to the service Companion Animal Hospital provides. She and her staff made a very crazy time so much more bearable for us, and for that we will always be most very grateful. It is because of Companion Animal Hospital that we were able to give our baby a second chance and a few more years to enjoy together.They all went above & beyond from our first encounter and they have continued to exceed our expectations each and every time since then. For five years we have been loyal clients, referring countless friends and family to them. When it was time for our cat to cross over that Rainbow Bridge last year, they were with us every step of the way. Tom_minus_his_buddy:We are sorry to hear that you feel that our practice treated your dog inappropriately. When you arrived and told us of his symptoms, we conducted a complete physical assessment. We ran a Parvo Virus test and intestinal parasite exam which were both positive. A slight positive test is still a positive and the treatment would have been no different than a strong positive. A light positive only describes the color indicator of the test and not the severity of the disease. Bandit had all the classic signs of Parvo virus.Bandit definitely did have Parvo as well as intestinal parasites that he was treated for. Unfortunately many puppies and dogs succumb to this devastating viral infection in spite of all the appropriate treatment received. Although he had been sick already for several days, some patients succumb when their immune system reaches a breaking point in spite of treatment.Please remember that the virus was shed in your yard and home and do not bring another puppy or unvaccinated adult dog in until properly disinfected. We do not wish you or any other pet to go through this again. Read Less

These people Killed my dog. I took a 2 yr old dog in because he was puking and a bad case of diarrhea and was drooling. They told me he had Parvo and there was nothing they could do but give him an IV. I only found out right before he died when a nurse let it slip that he was only "mildly positive" for Parvo. They ran with it and never checked anything out, my dog died in 3 days. ( Parvo never made sense for a full grown dog, but then they never checked anything after that).After doing my homework I figured out what it was, the dog had eaten poison mushrooms which are everywhere with all the rain we had this summer. Too late for me. If I had known from day one he only tested slightly positive for Parvo I would have had my dog out of that place before they just let him die. You can bet they charged full price to kill my dog, which is just insult on top of injury. Unless we are talking basic's I would not trust these people, 2 vets looked at my dog and they did nothing to verify the problem. Read Less

We wanted a second opinion prior to having surgery for our dog and we ended up here. I was impressed by the professional attitude.No one there was smacking gum or talking to each other instead of helping my wife and I, or on cellphones. The lady doctor explained to us what was happening in greater detail and my wife feels we made the right choice for a new vet.
