Stay 'away' from this vet clinic unless you do NOT mind being 'overcharged!' I took a rescued cat there, she had a runny nose and congestion and no fever. My cat only required an antibiotic medicine. I told Dr Gambles that I wanted the cat to be treated for only the immediate issue of her runny nose and congestion. She kept trying to include other treatments that were not even urgent and could be adressed seperately on another visit. But she only wanted to up the cost for the bill. Even after I told her that I wasn't there for anything but to address the cat's runny nose and congestion, she still over charged me anyways!! I 'never' agreed to the other 2 charges. She over charged $60.00 for pain meds and 2 antibiotics instead of one! The cat only needed one antibiotic treatment and certainly did 'not' need pain meds! This is a deliberate act of over charging!! And Dr Gambles is also very argumentive. She tried to tell me that no other vets will give vaccinations for feline leukemia unless they test the cat first. Not true because I know vets that will. She owes me a refund of $60 of which I doubt she will ever give back to me. Dr Gambles is most likely very pleased with herself for overcharging me! I called to leave Dr Gambles a message, that I was upset and expected a $60 refund , for the over charges. The clerk began talking over me very rudely and would 'not' allow me to speak. I needed her to 'relay' the message, 'not' to give me her opinion. She continued to interrupt me, which made matters worse and further proving that they do not care what paying customers think when it comes to any negative feedbacks. They are very expensive and agressively push for other services that are not required. I obviously will never return there, and will continue seeing my other vet, that has 'never' over charged me once in 12 yrs! I gave Dr Gambles a chance and she chose to take advantage of me instead . I absolutely do 'not' trust her and I do 'not' recommend her! Read Less

Very professional, caring and knowledgeable Veterinarian. We have 3 dogs and 2 cats and take all of them there. They are experienced and will recommend care and procedures, with estimates up front. We had one of our dog neutered and boarded there, another one had to have a big mass removed and we get all our yearly check ups done there. Reasonable prices for both treatment and medication. If you want great and experienced care for your animal, this is the place for you. Additionally, they work with the local animal shelter and do a lot of work with the animals from there. You can't beat the experience and care that this clinic/Dr. Cathrine provides. We have lived all over the USA and world and this some of the best care our animals have received. Read Less

I normally use another vet, however they were closed since it was Black Friday. My nearly 11yr old boxer lost use of her hind legs thanksgiving night/early am. She was in no pain so I felt she had the hip thing boxers get and would need steroids. I contacted Heart of Dixie upon opening and was able to get a 10 am appt. The receptionist was beyond kind as I explained I was trying to find someone to help me get her to the car. I knew I was in good hands w the answers she gave. Upon arriving the wonderful lady doing the grounds and the great tech came and got Mattie inside. Dr Gambles came in and took her temp and examined with the care that only an animal lover could do. She let me know that it was probably more & that she had most likely thrown a clot, she then wasted no time w an iv. She came in & delivered the news & offered to 1st try X-ray to determine if she had a mass on her spleen. I asked the what if question while crying. & she calmly let me know that is why she told me then so I could be thinking about possible closure while grasping my hands w care. The X-ray results were what she suspected. The option of surgery would probably not bring a good ending for my older boxer. She told me to take my time, go make calls or whatever no one would take my exam room. I held Mattie as she went to sleep one last time & again was told to stay as long as I needed. You see I lost my 15 yr old jack Russell last thanksgiving so I was pretty upset. As I left I was told more than once by a new receptionist how sorry our meeting was under theses circumstances. I was so scared not being at my vet but could not ask for better. THANK YOU to Heart of Dixie and God Bless to you all Sorry for the long post Read Less

Im giving them 4 stars only because ive only been there once so far..however, my experience in this one trip was fantastic. I had a groupon for annual shots and needed to get my rescue kitten his first shots. They were WONDERFUL with him. I was a little nervous because of some of the unflattering views but my experience exceeded any expectations i had. The Vet took the time to allow my kitten to feel comfortable with her. I think he got 2 or 3 shots that day and it was the best experience ive had with any vet clinic anywhere with any animal. She instructed the tech to use a syringe to feed him wet food to keep him distracted while he got the shots. Without anyone touching him at all the vet was able to give him the shots and he didnt acknowledge it at all. He didnt flinch or meow or anything! I was shocked because hes usually skittish and timid and you would have never known he just got his shots. All the staff was pleasant and i got two small bags of hills food to take home at the end of the visit. This is the only service ive received from them and hes not due for more shots until later this summer but i felt really secure with them. Again i woukd give them 5 stars but ive only been once so i cant really say. But it was the best vet experience ive had! Read Less
