After the vet doc, Doctor Overstreet, came in to talk to me about my pup was when the debacle started. I was packing my puppies against the cold winter air in a warm fluffy blanket, using a tiny bucket as a carrying case. The vet watched in horror. Geez. You would have thought I was sealing the puppies in plastic to suffocate from what she said, "Don't do that, they can't breathe!" "
"They CAN breathe! See!" I unfolded the the top layers of the blanket to find the puppies already asleep and breathing easily.
With extreme exasperation she started dictating to me exactly what I should and should not do! "With puppies that young, bring the mother with them, they should not be without their mother!" The mother was resting warmly with the other puppies 5 minutes away from us. You would have thought I had abandoned them from the offended tone in her voice.
I continued to pack the puppies in their little carrying bucket. The doc realized she could not dictate her orders to me. Wheeling around, she headed for the door and SLAMMED it like a woman slams the door on her husband! What a display of temper over covering a puppy in the soft warm folds of a blanket.
When I walked out I found Dr. Overstreet had hustled herself over to the cashier and was whispering to the cashier! I could see exactly what she had set in motion with what happened next: the cashier started doing the reprimanding for her, what she could not do to me.
The cashier turned on me. This cashier had welcomed me warmly a few minutes ago. Now she'd been sic-ed onto me by Dr. Overstreet and the cashier started bellowing at me in that small office space, "It will be up to Dr. Metcalf to see whether or not we want you as a client!!"
I must say, I had boarded my three pugs there for five months while my home was being renovated from an oven fire, and as a paying client to be yelled at like that, took me by surprise. Nevertheless, I said "I want to write a complaint about that woman!" I pointed to Dr. Overstreet who had retreated to her office while the cashier did the yelling for her.
I know how I was treated over the puppies, for putting the puppies in their warm carrying bucket and blanket for travel. You can make up your own minds about whether you want to be a client of this facility. Read Less
