Very bad experience with this clinic & boarding. If your horse is not like a statue & is active at all they do not want you boarding there. They will be mean & nasty to your horse to force you to leave. All this happened to me & my horses. They put 2 of my horses in a small dirty pen not able to get out. I asked them to change pens they refused. It took time for me to find a place to move them during that time my horses were treated very poorly. Beware. Check on treatment of your horses Read Less

I was originally a client of both Durango Equine Veterinary Clinic for breeding, foaling and routine health care and of Command Performance Horse Farms for boarding from 1997-2000. At the time I had a 17 year old maiden TB mare, which I chose to breed to a warmblood. Since she was a maiden mare, I wanted the absolute BEST reproductive vet in the state and that was Dr. Kloppe. IN the end the stallion that I selected was E'Sop's Fable that also happened to be standing at stud at Command Performance Horse Farms so I did not have to deal with shipping semen. All of the reproductive vet care was top notch from pre-breeding, conception, gestation, foaling, weaning, gelding the foal as a yearling. My mare had a history of colic and all of the staff and Jana Kloppe were attentive to any changes or suspected illnesses. My spectacular foal spent the first two years of his life on pasture here and both of my horses received excellent care! I was fortunate enough to move to my own horse property in 2000 and moved all of my horses home so I was 60 miles away and therefore did not continue with veterinary care from this facility. Fast forward 15 years, and I reluctantly sold my horse property and was down to one senior stallion. Having a stallion that needed to be boarded, I knew exactly where to go...Durango Equine Veterinary Clinic and Command Performance Horse Farms! I did not want my 30 year + "old man" sitting in a box stall at a boarding stable. I knew he needed and deserved the care and compassion that he would receive at this facility. So in January 2014, I moved my horse out to Command Performance Horse Farms. He has been very happy and extremely well cared for the last 2 and a half years. Dr. Loomer and Dr. Lowethorpe treated him as if he was their own horse. Both doctors have made special trips to blanket the old man during the cold snaps, and with the help of their wonderful farm hands, have caught the little things treated them quickly. My horse always has a sparkling clean water bucket and ample high quality feed and pasture. All of the office staff have been wonderful and if I can't have my horse(s) at home, then this is where he/they will be. 100% satisfaction, all the time! Highly recommended to anyone on this side of town, or anyone seeking the best in reproductive care.Read Less

I will NOT call them or REFER them again for any type of emergency service. Their after hours/On call doctors are useless. Dr. Joslin is not only rude he wont entertain the thought of treating your animals unless its a "worthy" visit. And talk about unprofessional..the "girls" working along side VET (Dr. Lowthrope) are worse than preschoolers! If its serious I recommend calling someone who care..vets as far away as Apache Jct.
