Went to this hospital for an annual exam and immunization update for my dog (Jade) for the first time on September 21st. I'm very protective of my her - as is any owner, I'm sure - so I was a bit hesitant simply because of the new environment. However, I am very happy to say that we all had a pleasant experience. Even my 4lb., anxiety-filled dog seemed comfortable in the arms of the doctor and tech that were both responsible for her care. They were professional, took time to answer all of our questions while providing additional information that I consider to be extremely helpful while considering the possibility of breeding Jade. I left feeling relieved. But best of all: the visit, the vaccines, and the ear/Heartgard medicine were priced so reasonably well that I actually asked the lady a couple of times to repeat each of the individual costs because I expected it to be so much higher. Let me start by saying I called around to dozens of animal hospitals and couldn't get a single same day appointment for my kitty. I read the reviews on every one I called because I wanted to make sure he received good treatment. While reading the reviews of another vetinary office in the east valley, I read a poor review left by a man that said he took his cat to this hospital and they saved his cat's life. I'M SO GLAD I SAW HIS REVIEW. They made a same day appointment for my cat, within ten minutes of my walking into the office I had been taken into a room, the vet tech came in to evaluate and get info, and the vet had come in immediately after and evaluated and told me my cat was dying because of a blocked urethra!! I am 100% convinced that if I had taken him to the emergency vet I'd taken him to previously, he would have died. Dr. Wells and the vet tech Jessica were AMAZING. I cannot express my gratitude at their care and concern for myself and my cat. They gave me honest recommendations and saved my cats life. I've been singing their praises since the day I took him in. I've recommended them to every person within earshot, convinced my mom (who lives in Casa Grande) to take her dogs here, and will never go anywhere else. Amazing doesn't begin to describe ALL of the staff at this facility. They were reasonably priced, even though they could've price gauged me in my desperation they did not! I unfortunately had to bring my cat here as he had an ear infection right before I was due to leave for vacation. Poor thing! I was very pleased with this animal hospital as they were both friendly and professional. When I arrived I was promptly greeted and taken back into an exam room right away. They already knew who I was and who my pet was. Talk about being on top of things! When the tech came in she was extremely nice and handled my pet with car as she weighed him and took his temperature. They probably see hundreds of animals per week but it seemed like my cat was the first patient of the day. The vet who came in was even cooler, she joked with me and was super friendly. All in all, they resolved the issue and I didn't have to take out a second mortgage on my house. Ill definitely use this vet from now on. Read Less

Had gone to Oasis animal hospital for years until they couldn't get my dogs in after a fight between the two of them and they wouldn't get me in for 2.5 weeks. The first day at Chandler Gilbert Animal Hospital was quite pleasant. The exam rooms were clean and they eased my dog's anxiety with treats. They explained if she took her thyroid medicine at 7:15 am, we would need to come back the next  appointment at 10:15 for the blood draw. I showed up two days later with my dog for our designated appointment. Amber could not find my appointment made only two days prior and seemed shocked I would have an appointment that day since it was their surgery day. She finally found it written on another day. Another staff member came out and told me that couldn't be right because they needed at least four hours between my dog taking her medicine and the blood draw. At this point I admit I was irritated. They were implying it was my fault I showed up on the wrong day and time. We made another appointment two days later. I decided maybe they were having an off day. I showed up for the third appointment and Amber said she would be right with me and proceeded to talk about personal issues for fifteen minutes after the woman checked out! The woman left and Amber went to the back and came out only to tell me they were euthanizing another animal and I would have to wait longer for the blood draw. At that point I told her it was unacceptable service at the previous visit and this one. I verified there was no one else available to do the blood draw. I told her I was leaving and not coming back! She said, fine, we will forward your records to whoever you choose. So if you want poor service at the front desk, not enough staff to do more than one thing at a time, and people who don't care about your business, try Chandler Gilbert Animal Hospital! Read Less

Took my dog there and when they told me she was dying no one cared and I left as though they were mad at me and my family for even crying. Took my other puppy there to get something out of her nose (it was a twig) they charged my dad and didn't remove it. He left with the twig still in her nose and she was sneezing blood. When he got home he removed it with a nail clipper. How hard was it that they couldn't do it?!? How Useless can a doctor be?!? I hate this place when I pass by it I cringe. Read Less

They had no sympathy for me when my dog was dying also they couldn't even take a twig out of my dogs nose (but charged my dad for it anyways) my dad removed it with a nail clipper. After looking at all of their wonderful reviews here on Yelp, we took our puppy to Chandler Gilbert Animal Hospital for his shot series.  I liked that we were given cost and other information up front and each time, that's exactly what we were charged.  Same with his neuter.  We knew exactly what we would be paying with an itemized print out given on the visit before.  The costs have all seemed very reasonable and fair.The office is clean and bright and spacious.  There is never more than a few minute wait, if any at all, to be seen. The best part however is the loving and kind staff.  They are consistently caring and enthusiastic about seeing our pup, treating him like he's just the most special thing in the world!Highly recommend Chandler Gilbert Animal Hospital! This was my first time visiting this vet. They made a same day appointment which I loved. My dog is a very challenging one as she is terrified of everything, they were gentle and handled her very well. Extremely pleased with today's visit, it was our first time here. My newest family member who is just 13 weeks old was feeling well so I decided to locate a Vet  ( I had researched prior but hadn't made a decision as to which one I wanted to go with) but when my puppy Zhen was feeling I called this place they were able to fit me in same day.The front desk ladies had me a bit nervous due to their not so smiley faces but once I got in a room which was immediately and a few minutes after that the vet tech Jessica came in with a smile, fully draped in protective gear and immediately  explained that my puppy wasn't feeling well and that's why she was covered which I completely understood. Then came Dr. Tatum Wales who was draped as well and gave my puppy and exam. Called vet at 4:40 pm to bring in an 8lb. Dog that got clipped by a car. I told them he looked bruised but otherwise seemed fine but wanted to be sure. They said they didn't want to take anymore patients for the night! Their reason was too close to closing, they closed at 6pm. 1.25 hrs.!! I even told them I was just 1/4pm mile from them already almost there. Dog that got barely hit by a car. He had a sprained leg and was very sore. OTHERWISE was fine. They are pet doctors but unwilling to take what they call last minute emergency. Very disappointed, won't ever go there again. Read Less

Without a doubt some of the most genuine and nicest people in the world work here. I got a new puppy (his name is Marley) and we just moved to the area. So, we had to find a vet that would take good care of him. Well, we found our new vet. They were very caring, attentive, personable and the prices are very, very fair. I paid $330 for 3 visits which include ALL shots, check up and fees, fecal examination as well as preventative care. Extremely affordable considering the vet we just came from charged us $69 just to make an appointment. Oh, and that also includes discounts on neutering/spaying and they also gave us a free bag of puppy food that Marley LOVES (and he is an extremely picky eater!)The doctor, vet tech and the receptionist were all so kind to us and Marley and it made Marley's first time more comforting (and believe me, he was so scared at first).I would recommend Chandler Gilbert Animal Hospital to absolutely anyone. Even if you already have a vet, I would switch if I were you. If you don't come here, you're really missing out on some best in class veterinary care! Read Less

As newly moved in residents of AZ, we were looking for the same kind of experience that we were used to where we moved from, and we seem to have found it at Chandler Gilbert Animal Hospital. We needed to have our young Morkie looked at for a possible respiratory problem, and Dr. Wales was able to see him by 9:30 am the same day. I have nothing bad to say about CGAH! I love taking my furry kids to them. The entire staff is awsome!!! They are all very caring and they don't rush you. They let you ask as many questions as you need. Karen at the front desk is a mind reader. I brought in Skrinkle today and when I was ready to check out she had remembered I needed food for little Jack. She had it all ready and waiting for me. Now that I'm in Chandler I think I have found my new pet doc for all my vaccine , teeth cleaning and dietary needs . Now if you live in South Chandler , you are use to having your own gym , stores without long lines and lots elbow room , this pet stores meets those requirement especially when you may have a dog which needs space from other dogs. The front room is very spacious . quite of few owner can wait in front area , and give each other plenty of space. Setting appointments are pretty easy, and they take appointments all through out the day. I called 5 different places , and this location was able to fit me in and also give me 20 dollars off my first appointment plus additional 25 dollars off my seconds dog's cost for my first visit. The Vets were pretty awesome , took care of dogs were very respectful and very tactical about my telling me to work my Ali out more , which is very respectful . My appointment even went like hour over and they didn't rush me , and even let me get one additional mirco-chip for my second dog even though I forgot to request that earlier. I really like this place and plan to use this vet exclusivity so yeah, I recommend it . Read Less

We LOVE Dr. Wales and all the staff at Chandler Gilbert Animal Hospital. They always take the most thoughtful approach to help my animals. They are professional (front office is always warm and helpful) and compassionate (everyone is sensitive to the individual personalities and needs of my dogs/cat). We were won over by them when we had to put our geriatric dog down shortly after moving to AZ. They handled what was an extremely difficult time for our family with such grace and kindness, that we felt compelled to see them when we decided to adopt two formerly abused dogs. We are vacationing in Chandler and our little dog Rocky did something to his back and was in severe discomfort. Not knowing what to do (and with a good month left before we return home to Canada) we looked for a vet that we could take him to visit. We found Chandler Gilbert Animal Hospital and are certainly glad we did. Everyone in the clinic that we came into contact with were extremely professional, very kind and caring. The receptionist was very helpful in getting us in the same day, both the nurse and Dr. were very gentle and kind with our little guy considering the issues he was dealing with. I called and made an appointment for 04/07/2015.  The staff was very polite, professional and genuinely love animals (you can tell when people don't and are there just as a job that pays the bills). The room was clean, the setting was relaxed.  My Lab-Pit bull mix was at ease, to the point she was napping in the room.  I took that as a great sign that she felt at ease and comfortable.  The Doctor was amazing and answered all my questions never making me feel "dumb" for what I was asking.  They treated my girl for her stomach and allergy issues. She had a small spot of concerned removed and had stitches. Upon our return for her removal of stitches (which there was no charge for - AMAZING!!!), she again was so relaxed and not on edge.  The staff again was amazing and the Doctor was great.  We've found our new Vet, and it's worth the drive from Maricopa where we live.  The only reason I gave a 4 star rating and not a 5 was because the medication side effects wasn't reviewed in detail.  They stated to watch her food intake as she would be hungrier, but didn't mention she would or could potentially have bathroom accidents on herself.  No biggie since they stopped after we were done with the medication, but when she first started walking and urinating at the same time (without noticing she was doing it) it caused a little panic.  I will say though I called and they immediately pulled up her chart, and informed me what was going on and that there was no need to worry. Took my yorkie here for the first time today because of an ear infection. The staff was very sweet and attentive the entire time. They did an amazing job explaining everything along the way. I've had several bad experiences with vets that just want your money, and don't put in the time required to really see what is wrong with your pet. We are thrilled with this place!!  The very first time I took our dog here for an ear infection Dr. Wales was sooooo amazing and loving toward our dog.  The service is amazing, you are never rushed, prices are very fair and everyone seems so professional.  They even offer to send in the heartworm medicine rebate in for you!  Now that is service at its best!  I love that it is so close to me and it smells good in there as well:)  We switched from another place after 3 years to this one and could not be happier! VERY happy with this vet.   Our cat decided to make the entire house into his litterbox.  We had him 10 years now so we knew something was wrong.   My husband had been out of work for awhile and we communicated our concerns with Dr. Marsh up front regarding costs.   He was extremely helpful taking things step by step to try to contain costs.    After tests, he called us personally (not a vet tech)  to discuss results and what we should do, he was not rushing off the phone like prior vets I've dealth with (and most medical doctors come to think of it)    He spoke with my husband for almost 40 minutes to review results and options. My cat ended up needing medicines and injections and he did not charge us for the follow up visit showing us how to give the injections.  In my opinion all vet care is costly, no matter where you go.   But finding someone who listens to you and your concerns and isn't cold and dismissive is key, we definately found that in Dr. Marsh. My puppy was spayed here by Dr. Marsh. I wish my doctors office was this friendly and inviting. It has the atmosphere of walking into a cozy home. And it smells great! It's easy to get an appointment with them and they even have Saturday hours.Just an update, I now have had both my puppies spayed here. My Jack Russell wasn't eating and we got worried.  We took him to the vet (got an appointment the same day).  The staff was very helpful and caring.  The Vet couldn't find anything wrong with the little guy, so we ran a test...unfortunately the doc couldn't dig any "presents" out so they gave me a little vile and told me to get a "sample".  My wife immediately says "he's your dog...you do it."YAY ME ... not.After taking the dogs out for a couple walks to get him to finally go...I had the unfortunate job of "getting the sample".  Thankfully they didn't find anything wrong with him and the very next day he started eating again.
