Eddie Palacios, the on site farrier is AMAZING! We have a horse that has been lame on and off for the past year.  We have spent thousands of dollars trying to diagnose and treat her. .  Everything points to the foot however, the foot xrays clean. Before having an MRI done we thought we'd give the podiatry center at Arizona Equine a shot.  Sure enough, it worked.  Eddie's skill and knowledge of the equine anatomy is something you don't find everyday.  I'm so happy to know that there doesn't need to be a lameness issue to use Eddie on an everyday basis.  I will be back! Dr. Thometz is amazing! She called daily to check on our old gelding Ghost. Dr. Thometz is so compassionate and caring she is quiet and methodical with everything she did for Ghost. I can't say enough wonderful things about her. The front office staff was so kind to me when I finally had to make the decision to have Ghost laid to rest. I was an intern here for a few months and got a solid look behind the scenes. This is an amazing clinic with so many different diagnostic tools. The team of veterinarians is absolutely solid and cover a variety of different specialties. Every staff member here genuinely cares about the treatment and health of your horse. They are professional in nature and very knowledgeable. This clinic really strives to make sure your horse is receiving the best care possible.There are no shortcuts at this clinic. Such a wonderful group of people. They not only treat your house but are there for you as well. Was recently there for my horse that had severe colic. My daughter and I had an emergency with one of our horses that was kicked in exactly the right spot on the leg to cause major problems. We took our TB into the clinic and was impressed from the moment we arrived (and we are not easy to impress..... :) Dr Taylor was our vet/surgeon on the case. Dr Taylor was professional yet friendly and answered all of our questions. Our horse did have to have surgery to take care of the issue. He called us throughout our horse's stay to keep us up to date on his condition. We visited our horse each day and were impressed by the cleanliness of the stalls, barn, and entire clinic. When we picked him up today, his medications were waiting and we were given full written discharge instructions. Our horse is doing great and will make a full recovery thanks to Dr Taylor and his staff! Read Less

Five stars for MY experience with them.  I called in a panic late Sunday aftetnoon with a colic horse.  DR.Z was very helpful and we decided to wait until morning. This morning while getting ready to write a yelp for an AC company that I found quite good,  I ran across the negative Yelp from Natalie K. concerning AZ Equine.  I am not challenging her review as I am not in her shoes.   I have used AZ Equine since, I believe, 1994.  I am extremely picky and study and analyze.  I am a layman, armchair vet, probably the worst kind.   I had an extensive equine background, growing up fox hunting, learning leg and horse care by a bygone era of horseman, exercising steeple chasers, trainer's license, etc.  I came back to horses in the early 1990's in AZ.  Dr. Taylor is my go to DVM if any complicated issues arise.  He has saved the lives of several of my horses.  I have carried his good name to horse owner's, north of us, who ship their horses to AZ Equine, despite the huge availability of equine vets in the Scottsdale, North Phoenix areas and lavish hospitals.  When my horses were in training in that area I tried one or two of the popular names and gave up on them. Two years ago when in Michigan and had a horse in Carefree AZ, I did not second guess shipping the horse to Arizona Equine in Gilbert for treatment.  What it really comes down to, is the expertise, dedication, leadership, intelligence and honesty of the Doctors and employees.  I feel the need to mention the caring hands of Certified Vet Tech. Darcy Wheeler and the human compassion shown to me, by Bri Cox.  I am told, the other doctors at AZ. Equine are excellent, as many of my friends have their own favorites. Arizona Equine has been my equine vet for over 20 years.  They have seen and treated my horses for everything from routine vaccinations, to very complicated lameness issues, to emergency traumas, to breeding work, to highly unusual illnesses, euthanasia, etc.  I have never in all my time spent at the clinic or dealing with them at my barn, had any of the vets there be discourteous, hostile, disrespectful, or anything but professional, caring, and wholly committed to making my animals healthy and happy.  I have complete trust in their ability to diagnose and treat whatever problem arises, and they have always been more than willing to work with my budget.  Some of my horses have been insured, but most have not, and they have always been very understanding of what I could and could not do when it came to diagnostics and treatment.  I've had to call them in the middle of the night, on Christmas morning, when it was 40 degrees and pouring rain, and I have always felt the only thing they were concerned with was helping my animals in their time of need.  They've always gone above and beyond, often coming to check on cases even when they weren't on duty.  The nature of their business is that not everyone is going to have a good outcome, unfortunately.  Sometimes horses can't be fixed, and sometimes people don't have the funds for necessary diagnostics or surgeries.  It's understandable that owners are upset in these situations, but it bothers me when I see an honest, reputable business getting slammed by faceless people on the internet, and I always suspect there's probably more to that story.  Arizona Equine deserves a top rating- there's no other equine vet in the East Valley I'd trust with my horses. My horse Jade aka " Sip A Whiskey" got her teeth floated today and I had my other mare seen by them a few months ago. I love there veterinary staff, so happy they come out to my house. Did a externship there years ago and fell in love with them then and will always use them for my horses needs! Read Less

I can't thank Dr. Bellamy and his more than capable assistant for their help today, my mare needed her teeth floated bad, I hadn't ever had it done but they weren't judgemental at all, took care of her expertly, I made a nice mash for her and she ate for the first time today in 5 days, I highly recommend this team!
