My parents have used this vet for years. I used them because of their recommendation. I came here to AZ in 2004 and I have been a customer since I got my first dog in 2009. They seemed fine, typical vet, but recently in mid 2016 I had an issue, my dog Isabella, had a lump on her nipple closer to her lady parts and I became concerned. I went to see this particular vet and was told that she had a tumor, and that it would be a good idea to get her spayed at the same time. So we scheduled.
i dropped her off and picked her up same day, no issues of course she was sore and out of it, which was to be expected. Within the next 7 months, Isabella put on over 6.5 pounds of body weight. I became concerned because her stomach was extremely bloated, to the point of feeling like an over blown balloon. She was bloated and having constant potty issues in the house, with chronic diarrhea and trouble walking. I visited the vet, they took a blood, urine, feces sample and an x-ray. During the x-ray review I was told that nothing was wrong, that this was all the side affects of being spayed, that it would pass, or was sold that this is normal activity for any dog to go through - mind you my other dog, Jasmine, was spayed around the same time, she had zero affects at all, Isabella's concerns were much different.
I called the vet several times and all he could tell me was that the tumor contained cancerous tissue and that I needed to do more blood tests, that this could be a side affect of a possible cancer, that it might have spread, and that I need to do more blood tests that would be rather expensive (thousands of dollars when you send them off to labs for testing). I called the vet one final time, in March 2017 to bring my concerns again, to him regarding Isabella's August 2016 spay/cancer removable surgery.
I then decided to call a different vet. I called Priority Pet Hospital in GIlbert, AZ on Val Vista and Queen Creek road. I called and was assisted by very professional sounding and acting employees, who wrote down all my concerns and had a Dr. Miller review Isabella 3 days later, as the topics I brought to her attention - the same topics I talked to Warner Vista Animal Hospital about - that she found extremely concerning and wanted to see Isabella as soon as possible. Within the first visit, I payed less than $200 and received pro-biotics, that within 3-days stopped Isabella's diarrhea and pooping in the house issues, she can walk, she barks, she wags her tail, she plays, she is her old self again. There is more concern, regarding her gut and the balloon stomach. For that initial $200 visit, I got information that Isabella needed an Ultrasound, a Cushings disease test, a urine and feces test, and that Isabella had 190 blood pressure, which is very high for a small dog. Within 3 days (I write this review within 10 days of visiting this vet) I have results that Isabella has a bladder infection and needs to take blood pressure pills, that she does not need an ultrasound or a cushings disease test, that I can cure this problem with antibiotics. I payed $70 for antibiotics, the vet provided me a $25 off coupon for receiving these antibiotics and currently she is taking them to resolve the issue. Isabella is light night and day; it's 3 days into her antibiotics and cure and she is like her old self; she is working towards getting her bladder infection down and her belly back to normal.
That being said; I am over $1500 in with Warner Vista Animal Hospital, and only $350 in with Priority Pet Hospital; that includes antibiotics and blood pressure pills that totals $70 to CVS pharmacy, so not all that money is even spent at the vet itself.
I have the results I been waiting 9 months to get, from the old vet (Warner Vista Animal Hospital), solved in less than 1 week, with Priority Pet Hospital. For almost a year of my dog's quality of life going down the drain.
I will never recommend Warner Vista Animal Hospital to anyone. Within 10 days at Priority Pet Hospital, Isabella lost 1 lb and is running, playing and much more responsive. Read Less
