This place is remarkable! Stumbled across them from another vet who was too busy to get Mr. Johnston (my dog) in on Sunday. This Vet really has a passion for Animals. He is a truely a defination of what a vet should be. His office is open 7 days a week. His staff is loving and caring as well. He saved my dogs eye and most recently my same dog had a stomach infection and got him in right away, although he was already completely fill for appointments. What an amazing team of specialists, who is lead my a Vet who I call not only "my vet" but a friend as well. Arizona is lucky to have him and his practice! Like the other reviews great staff if they know they are getting money!  Brought in a puppy we had taken from not a very good owner we spent well over $1000 on meds and IV's and etc. he did turn around and got happy and healthy so for that they get the stars.   But when we brought him in today after he had fallen in the pool and was in verge of dying and could have had some CPR or any help at all,  as they are 2 blocks from my house, my husband was told no turn around and go to 43rd Ave and cactus to the emergency vet. My question why do you have an emergency entrance if you don't take them???????  So while speeding up the street our dog passed!  So as long as they are breathing and you have a deep wallet go ahead ! Just because of their pure lack of compassion what so ever!  Never will we be going back!  Have to say the staff at the 43rd Ave and cactus place were very compassionate and gracious to help us. I am dumbfounded by the treatment from the staff. I called late in the day because I needed to put my dog to sleep they said they were open to 8 PM and could take me in anytime. I called when I was on my way and THEN they said that the doctor had went out to run errands!!!!! There was nothing they could do until 6:30.....such bullshit. I only give two stars because of the range of services they have to offer (boarding, grooming, dental work, etc). Otherwise, I'm not happy. As most other reviews will state, they are incredibly expensive. I paid $300 just to get my dog's broken toenail removed, maxing out my credit line because this office refuses to work with its customers and would not allow a payment plan. Afterward, I was told to remove the bandages after three days. Day two rolls around, and my dog won't put any weight on that foot and it's hurting him so badly that he actually tried to bite me while I was removing it. When I finally managed to get the bandage off, the inside of it was yellow, and it was filled with old blood and dirt. This office couldn't even bother to clean his paw before cutting and wrapping it. Luckily, I didn't cut costs as they suggested I do and I brought home the antibiotics I paid way too much for. Friendly staff, but poor service for the money.  We had a bird with a minor wound and they gave it a single antibiotic shot and said the bird should live ($105 for that visit/analysis). Their follow up instructions were to clean the wound daily and feed it formula. I questioned whether or not one single antibiotic shot was proper treatment since humans generally have a full course of antibiotics to ensure infection is gone. The nurse called for follow up and didn't even mention bringing it back for more antibiotics. After a couple days the bird was having some trouble walking but still had energy and ate. We called and the nurse said we should have brought it in every other day for more shots. We gave it one more shot and the bird couldn't even stand and started vomiting and having violent heart failure once back at home after the clinic closed. Would have preferred to just put the bird down instead of watch this outcome - especially after the $30 shot. As you can see the prescribed treatment was unclear and nurses subsequent analysis of the infection lacked since she gave it a shot causing heart failure and suffering. $135, false hope, and a dead bird. We LOVE this place!  The boarding service is great - our dogs are well taken care of and happy - we don't have to worry about their safety.  This review is well over-due, our pets have been going here for many years for both vet needs and boarding - we wouldn't go anywhere else!  You can tell everyone here really loves animals - we couldn't recommend them more! Ambassador animal hospital is the best! Dr. Joiner is amazing and caring! The staff are friendly and helpful! It is such a beautiful and clean animal hospital! I know my pets are always getting the best care when I go there. The estimates are high but it is only because dr. Joiner is giving you all the options up front and you can choose which route you want to go for the care. He is patient and clearly loves animals! When I had fostered a dog for a friend who became homeless I brought the dog to Dr. Joiner. Just for a check up to make sure he was ok since he would be staying with me for a short time.  He looked him over, got his nails clipped, a bath and he noticed the dog was having an allergic reaction (his tummy was red, watery eyes and occasionally itching himself) and suggested getting him some allergy medicine for him. Dr. Joiner was very thorough and very informative. The staff is wonderful and always so friendly. It really shows that the Dr and the staff love animals and actually care about them. And the prices are pretty good compared to other vets I have visited in the past. The quality of service is well worth it! I have sent numerous friends and family members to Ambassador animal hospital. All have left very happy and continue to return. I since have given the dog back to his owner but when I get another animal this will always be my go to Vet!! Read Less

Worst experience I have ever had at a Vet. I took my sick dog in to be examined because she stopped eating and was vomiting. The Doctor looked at her for less then 5 minutes and without anyone explaining anything to me or taking her temperature he said someone will be in to give you an estimate and walked out. Then a person came in with a estimated cost of over $900 dollars for labs and X-Rays. I asked what the Doctors prognosis was and she said she didn't know and left again. When she came back she said The Doctor said to do everything on the estimate and will see what comes back . I expressed my dissatisfaction and paid the $48 dollar examination bill and left. Thank God I found a great Vet right around the corner that took me and my dog in immediately and solved the situation. Not only was it a third the cost my dog actually received the examination from the Doctor instead of a quick glance and a ridiculous over priced quote .In my opinion this is a Veterinarian clinic that only cares about money not animals OR their owners. We love Ambassador Animal Hospital. They saved our dogs life and also helped our recently sick cat that had a UTI. These people genuinely care about animals and are empathetic. We love the homey vibe of this office and how welcoming the staff are. Reading previous reviews a lot of people stated that this office is "very expensive" however if you take your animal to any other vet, or animal hospital you are looking at if not the same price maybe higher. These people are willing to work with your payments and not hassle you. We will never go anywhere else, we love Ambassador! Read Less

We love Ambassador! Our dog, Frank, thinks this place is doggie Disneyland! He gets SO excited when we pull in the parking lot and keeps up that level of enthusiasm throughout the entire visit. They are always kind and gentle, and it doesn't hurt that they give a ridiculous amount of treats to the dogs during the visit... Frank loves that part! The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the price - which I guess you get what you pay for ... But it can definitely get pricey quick here. Read Less

Great staff and Doctor. My family and I have been taking our dogs here for around 20 years. Always been a great experience. Some examples: One puppy had worms but was diagnosed on her first exam. She was treated and is now a healthy 2 year old. Another one almost 15 years ago was hit by a car but they treated her and she lived many more happy years. Sadly around 12 years ago we had a 6 year old lab who developed a terminal heart condition, she was treated as best as possible, but somethings in this world can't be fixed and she passed, sometimes there is just nothing current medicine can do and I do not blame the Doctor. Its just the way life works, regrettably all good friends must someday pass. I read the other reviews and noted that some said there were issues with identifying what was wrong with the pet. This has never been my experience. I would imagine that there are times the issue is not easily/correctly identified but I have never experienced them not trying hard to find the ailment and treat it. I would guess that those times are few and far between as this is a very experienced vet and staff. I am sorry that some of the other pets did not have good outcomes. I would recommend reading the other reviews but take them with a grain of salt as people are more apt to write reviews when they are upset over how things turned out. I would not take them as a portrayal of the business as a whole. I believe I am among the majority that will continue to use this office as my Vet of choice. I highly recommend that you try them. I would recommend the puppy package for anyone who has a new puppy, For my new puppy they even gave me a folder to keep all of her records in. The reason I am writing this review is that I went online to look up the phone number to schedule my next appointment and saw the other reviews. Dr. Joiner did not at all seem unempathetic to me. He took in my 12 yr old chihuahua, Io, with dental disease promtly and affectionately. Io was returned to me in a warm blanket, with antibiotics and post-surgery doggy pain meds, as well as a brighter future. I've never seen my dog happier, or so at ease! Dr. Joiner even called two days in a row to check in on Io. I Was going to send a thank you card to Ambassador, but I waited too long and now it seems the window of opportunity has closed, but they definately deserve at least a great big THANKS! Polite staff. A bit eccentric, however sweet, and prompt veterinarian. A quaint, quiet office. I will definately be back. A little pricey though, but that's all. Read Less

We have been taking our dogs to see Dr. Kleiman for over 7 years. We have tried other vets but we keep coming back to her. We have moved a few times over the years and now travel over 25 miles to bring our pups into the clinic. If Dr. Kleiman is not available, Dr. Joiner is just as knowledgeable and we trust our pets to either of them. We have lost a few members of our family due to old age at the clinic. The staff has always been wonderful and respectful. We still have a couple of 16 year old dogs that I would not take to anyone else. My dogs know Dr. Kleiman and are comfortable at the clinic. We have had a few trying moments that called for a phone call in to the vet. Both Dr. Kleiman and Dr. Joiner have always been very thorough in our treament. They recommend treaments but don't force their ideas. They have always worked with us as part of their team. They return the call very promptly. Somehow, Dr. Kleiman always remembers our dogs name's. That extra personal attention shows me that she truely cares about her patients. When calling in to the clinic, the staff is always enjoyable to talk to. They know your name and remember your pet's history. They care about the animals and their people. I highly recommend this clinic and both Dr. Kleiman and Dr. Joiner! Read Less

I have been taking my pets to Ambassdor Animal Hospital for over 13 years now! The staff is wonderful and caring and always manage to put my pets at ease no matter the circumstances.
