I'm beyond thrilled that my girlfriend recommended Arrow to us. We have a new addition to our family since Christmas. He is a 5 month old Boxer named Tank. He needed a chip and three vaccines. My son who is 6 really wanted to be there because Tank is his puppy. Dr Tracy took so much time and care talking to my son about his new puppy and how to care for him. Then she let him be her helper when he got his shots. She included him on everything! Then to make the night even more memorable they took him on a tour of the whole hospital to show him all the people, their jobs, and all the areas of the hospital. They didn't have to do any of this and were probably eager to get home because we had the last apt of the night. My son gave her a hug he was so happy at the end. I will never take my animals to anyone else again! It is rare to see people who truly love your animals as much as we do but the people there and even scheduling the apt were Fantastic! I have taken two of my unfixed, unbred female dogs here in the past when they ended up with Pyometria. Though the cost of major surgery is always expensive, this is the only place I know of that has regular Sunday hours and offers payment plans. For these instances, I would give this hospital more than 5 stars. Recently, though, I brought in my older small breed with issues with his paws. They are encrusted and he's having problems walking. I spent $300 on the visit, an antibiotic shot, antibiotic pills and pain meds. His condition did not improve at all. Through my own research, I've discovered that he *most likely* has a chronic condition called Hyperkeratosis. I would rate the vet I saw as a 1 star on this visit. She either didn't know about this condition and guessed, or just assumed that let my dog live in filthy conditions (which I do not), and said that his pads were nothing but ulcerations and looked like they had "impacted fecal material", and asked if I let him stand in urine for long periods of time. That was insulting, and did not get to the root condition. I will not be taking this dog to this vet again. Read Less

I love this vet office. They are always very caring with my pitbull. Some vets office are judgmental with her breed but all the staff is very loving with her. They are always very attentive tinny concerns and want to work with me to help my girl be as healthy as possible. Their options for payment plans are an added bonus. I had a situation when I came here with my 17 year old kitty who had been sick for a few days, the worst part about my 1 and only visit here is that after I was charged an absurd amount for the services (not the worst part) is my cat was misdiagnosed, basically written off due to her age & I was told she had pancreatitis, hyperthyroidism, a fatty liver and was prediabetic. The vet told me if I did treatment at home ($400+) or leave her there ($1000k+) that she would still only have a 20-30% of survival! Needless to say with the total lack of personal care & feeling I got from Arrow I knew I needed to get a 2nd opinion especially when just 3 months before this instance with my cat she was perfectly healthy still despite her age, she had a complete exam at another vet which proved that. So I took her to another vet across the street, Sunburst Animal Hospital, and was told after they reviewed the test results sent over from Arrow that she only had pancreatitis & simply needed fluids, food & steroids for a short period of time. 1 week after this all started she is back to her old self, doing great!! Had I listened to the vets at Arrow I would probably have put my kitty to sleep unnecessarily!! I write this review to warn others so they don't put their babies down when it's not even that time to. $49 exam fee. I had an emergency with my new puppy this morning when I found a worm in his poo. I'm a complete vermiphobe, so it was a terrifying experience for me. I had to find a vet that was open on Sunday and reasonably priced, and thank goodness Arrow Animal Hospital fit the bill. I walked in with my puppy this very morning and was seen in less than 20 mins. Dr. Haley was wonderful with him. She was so friendly and patient and did a great job of explaining everything to me and answering my questions. The Vet Tech was also fantastic in taking care of my puppy and administering his meds. Flipping great. Got.my puppy in quick. They saved Ketchup's life. I have been to many vets in the valley . Beside the emergency animals hospital this is the only place I like. They made sure u had enough meds to take care of ketchup. They didn't take me through the ringer with the cost and even offered a payment plan with no credit check if I needed. Very nice staff and doctors. Always very clean. They're good at fitting you into the schedule in a timely manner. Saturdays has a smaller crew so week days are best. They aren't overly expensive but they aren't the least expensive in town. I wish I could give zero stars. It took 6 calls to be told they wouldn't help with my puppy who was diagnosed with Parvo. They gave us the at home treatment and I called them the next day to ask for the pill form of the antibiotics instead of the shots. 6 calls later they tell me no because he's symptoms which include throwing up. I wish I didn't have to give this Hospital any stars. I took my baby there for years and trusted them. The vet found that my pomeranian had a heart murmur and didn't prescribe any heart medicine to help her heart from growing. She kept insisting her cough was due to allergies.i wish I would have known to go elsewhere and not trust the diagnoses they gave my baby.. Months later I took her to another vet her diagnosed her with heart failure and collapsed trachea. If only the vets at Arrow would have done their job right and prevented my pomeranian from heart failure, she would still be with us today. I regret not taking her elsewhere before hand but I thought I could trust the vets at Arrow. The payment plans were helpful but not worth losing your pet. Please go for a second opinion before these incompetent vets misdiagnose or leave your pet untreated. Read Less

My dog was taken to Arrow because I could not get ahold of her normal vet.  200 here 217 there. 38 lab prep fee. bottom line 564 later she is still sick.  they wanted to do a 350 ultra sound.  In my option expensive.  even 62 for a shot for motion sickness.  In my option they are all about the money. We were new to the area and our dog was having some concerning issues which required medical care. We're so thankful that we found Arrow Animal Hospital and specifically, Dr. Sherrell. Dr. Sherrel really cared, he listened to what the issues were, gave our precious pup a thorough exam and gave us his professional opinion and suggestions. It's been six weeks and our pup has not had any of the symptoms since we followed Dr. Sherrell's advice. He is kind, approachable and truly cares about the animals that come to see him. I have spent thousands of dollars at this vet. Spent another thousand the other day. Right now, funds are tight & my Chi managed to rip a couple of stitches out. The vet took out the rest several days early. Now he has a gaping wound in his neck. I called to ask if they'd make an exception to the rule of money down on their payment plan to put in more sutures (since I have a payment plan going already). NOPE! So I'm off to get butterfly band aids, betadine & something to wrap his neck with. The only saving grace is that I bought him a bunch of antibiotics yesterday. This may work. Taking a pet to the vet for an illness or injury is scary and expensive. Arrow is amazing. We were seen at our appointment time, the staff is friendly and empathetic, the doctor is knowledgeable and spoke plainly and confidently. The in-house payment plan was a miracle for my pet emergency. Arrow is clearly in the business for animal welfare and not marketing private products or practices, or to get rich. I have been here a few times and I unfortunately found myself here this past Friday night after my dog had gotten progressively sick for a few days. Every time I come here I am able to get a same day appointment which is a huge plus. They are always compassionate and do an excellent job of recognizing how amazingly cute my dogs are! Friday night my pup was feeling pretty sickly and was given fluids, anti nausea medication, and antibiotics. We also did blood work and an X Ray to see what was going on. The possible problems were discussed as well as treatment options. I didn't think with the holiday we would get lab results until Monday but they called me Christmas Eve to tell me she had pancreatitis. Poor baby! I thought it was really awesome they took the time to call me on the holiday. It shows they really care about the animals they see. Arrow animal has helped my family out for years. The two most recent cases are my boys Chomper and Sirius. Sirius had parvo almost a year ago and they helped save him. Chomper broke his paw this past May and had to have surgery. He's not the easiest dog to handle. He's 12lbs of attitude but they worked with him. We are now almost 6 months away from his surgery and he's doing amazing. All the Drs and technicians are amazing and caring. I couldn't imagine taking my babies anywhere else. Read Less

Brought my very sick dog here yesterday. $703 later I'm waiting on tests but nothing besides fluids was done for comfort or palliative care. He is now worse and the vet is too busy to speak with me. Unfortunately I had to move and while trying to search for a new vet I discovered I never wrote a review for my previous one! I've taken my cats here for the past 10 years and I truly miss Arrow Animal Hospital.The staff was always kind and friendly and it was nice having a vet that was open 7 days a week. I would say the super stars of this office are Dr. Harmon and Nina, our vet tech. They took such good care of our animals - as if they were their own, especially our senior cat who had developed chronic kidney disease. Dr. Harmon really took the time to explain everything and give us a better understanding of her condition. She ended up having to be hospitalized and it gave us so much comfort knowing that our cat was in great hands. Typical Doctor/Vet office... You wait forever and then wait some more. Ran some expensive tests and they were great and gave me 2 different action plans after getting back the results. We decided to choose neither. My dog is almost 12 and has shown improvement since her appointment. I will continue to baby her, love her and treat her at home for as long as she stays with us!They really do push euthanasia, which bothers me. It was mentioned during multiple conversations. We aren't at that point, I understand one day we will be. You don't just put down your animal because the vet thinks there's something wrong or because they're 12. Had to put down our cat (Smudge the Cat) of 18 years after he fell off a landing 20 feet down. He was progressing anyway, but this did him in. Called Arrow Animal Hospital and the Vet Tech Hillary (forgive spelling) was wonderful. We boo-hooed when she let us grieve and we tried to keep it light when she was there. He was a grouchy cat but he was our grouchy cat and even though he peed on our son's stuff for 18 years, he still had his moments. The Vet doc was great as well and the transition was the most peaceful I have ever seen. They have taken care of several of our animals (one ate a zipper, etc) and were always there, and always helpful, and very kind. Another thing I have noticed reading the reviews, is that some reviewers are very unhinged. Maybe it is an animal thing. Organic systems found in animals are unpredictable and change at rapid pace. If I could do negative stars, I would.  This place only cares about the money!  My mom and I got a puppy and she got into a little fight with one of our dogs.  My mom was worried and rushed her to this place.  They told her she needed surgery right away and she has damage to her adult teeth.  Mind you, they didnt even take an Xray until the day of the surgery.  So the doctor calls me when surgery is complete.  It was all that I expected. only have to remove two baby teeth which would have fallen out on their own.  no need for surgery but still charged me almost $1000.00 for this.  and my mother had an arrangement with them regarding the balance so that I can pick her up when she was done since mom had to work.  when I go to get her, they wouldnt even let me see the pup until it was paid off.  complete crap - please do not go there.  VCA is great!  Arrow Animal Clinic SUCKS!!!!! I have always used Dr Sherrell as my vet and have referred him to many people who in turn were very happy with him as well. I have and always bring all of my pets here. I've always had wonderful sevice with the caring doctors and veterinary technicians. The last time I was here, my cat was very ill, they understood that I didn't have much to spend and took the time to talk to me about my options, and figure out a plan for treatment that was affordable for me. When my cat eventually passed away I brought him back in to be put down. Even though I was distraught and couldnt stop crying, they let me take as much time as I needed to say goodbye, and even gave me a clay pawprint to remember him by. OK, I have had my 12 year old dog in here 4 times in the last 8 months. Check up and shots in August great price and hours. Again in January for anal gland again price was reasonable and i was told what the bill would be before the procedure was done. Which I appreciate. Both times they examined a large cyst she had on her neck that we had debated removing or due to her age let it be. When the cyst began to irritate her and bleed we took her in on an emergency basis. They cleaned it, gave us our options, prices and we made a choice on surgery. They explained to us they had no one on duty overnight and we could leave her in a kennel or if we thought she would rest better at home then bring her back in the morning. We did just that. From beginning to end the day of the surgery they were compassionate and kept us posted on the process every step of the way. We walked out with a payment plan and follow up information and instructions on what to do in an emergency. They have been nothing but wonderful. Read Less

Repost: Please read & share. ARROW ANIMAL HOSPITAL 51ST AVE/ THUNDERBIRD I just want to share my experience with everyone last night because things like this is something that can not go unheard of. As many know I had a beautiful Silver Labador that I loved, adored and was utterly obsessed with, Topanga. Yesterday at 11 am I took her into her normal vet she has been going to since she was a pup, to get a spay down on her. They told me she wouldn't be able to get the surgery done on her until 4ish because they have other surgerys scheduled prior. I felt bad for making her wait back there for so long by her self but they said that had to be her drop off time. They called me at 4:18pm telling me she was done and was fine and did great! However they told me that I couldn't pick her up until 7pm because she wasn't waking up normally out of her anaesthesia, "but that is sometimes normal and sometimes bigger dogs take longer to wake up completely" word for word. My dog was not coherent what so ever. When one of my brothers went to go pick up my dog for me around 7 because I was finishing up at work still, she was not coherent, she couldn't walk, they had to wheel her out to my car on a cart, her gums were white and her heart was racing like in this video! The vets told my brother when Topanga was getting out of the kennel to come out to the car to come home, she was wobbly and FELL!!! They said they took blood work and ultra sounds to see if everything was ok aftrr she fell and everything looked "normal". Ya bullshit! THEY TOLD US THAT SHE JUST NEEDED MORE TIME TO WAKE UP COMPLETELY FROM HER MEDS AND SHE WILL BE UP AND WALKING BY 8PM!!! Well that was NOT the case what so ever! She was like this at home for about an hour and half before I couldn't take it anymore and not seeing her snap out or come down from her meds I finally took her into a 24 hr emergency hospital where i experienced the worst night I have ever, will ever, in my life. I lost her, they preformed CPR on her 3 times and there wasn't anything they could do anymore. This whole time I'm thinking the vet gave her too many meds (like they overdosed my dog). Come to find out she passed away from internal bleeding! Theresa Macclean from Arrow animal hospital is the one who preformed this surgery on her. LOOK HOW HUGE HER INCISION IS!! I have never in my life seen a spay or neuter with an incision longer than HALF the size of a pinky finger! SOMETHING OBVIOUSLY WENT WRONG DURING SURGERY FOR HER TO HAVE BEEN CUT OPEN THIS BIG!!! And another thing why would you EVER release a dog to go home when they are not coherent / stable!!?!?!?! She needed to be monitored and watched and they passed her off because it was 7pm and CLOSING TIME! it's a job, a paycheck to the vets over there!!!! It's not a passion, they don't care that they didnt follow SIMPLE procedures and regulations on a simple spay!! This hospital isnt a hole in the wall either, I've had dogs taken to hole in the wall clinics to get a neuter/ spay and they were NEVER near anything panga was like. These types of surgerys are so easy and get done 80 times a week im sure at Arrow Animal. WHY MY DOG, WHY ME MY HEART IS IN A MILLION PIECES Nothing anyone can say or do can change the way I feel right now. I just wanted every one to know Topanga's story and to please please stay away from Arrow Animal Hospital. Please share this also to let as many people possible know so they never have to experience how I feel right now. She was literally my everything.
