This place is a complete joke. I went there for their promotion which states that they do $1 new client complete check ups. Not only did my pet not recieve a check up of any kind. I also watched him pull, poke, my little guy who has an ear infection and made him cry a way i have never even heard him make before. Then at the end of the visit they charged me a 50$ fee for sticking a q tip in his ear and never even informed me that this would cost extra. You would really think considering the fact i am there for a 1$ promotion that he wouldnt be trying to scam these potential repeat clients but he seemed to not have the slightest care for my financial position, me, or my pets health. He is a jerk and tried to upsell overpriced ear cleaner and dog food with a annoyingly repetitive, rude, salesper son for a receptionist! Watch out for their $51.00 dollar promo! What a joke. I have to agree with Whitney. I felt like the vet new what was wrong with my pup but he wanted to make money and run all of the tests. Same thing, he said it could be a number of things but it ended up being something very simple. He also withdrew blood from my pup in a very barbaric way by putting a rubber band around her neck and withdrawing it from her neck. They also do not ask you if you want a test done or any of the meds. They just do it and charge. I asked if I could a prescription for the specialty dog food and medications and the vet told me he would go broke if he gave people prescriptions to get the meds cheaper elsewhere. His techniques creeped me out and my pup absolutely did not connect with him. We will never go there again. Thank God my pup is doing well. She just ate something that didnt sit well with her. If there was a 1/2 or 0 star rating, we would put that, because, honestly, this vet has milked us dry, and we were able to figure out what was wrong AFTER all the inconclusive results for EVERYTHING that came in without his help. We took in rescue dog because he suddenly stopped eating, drinking, and wasn't near as active as he usually was. We thought and said that it was the treated grass he ate that may have poisoned him. The vet took a look at him and said, "it could be a number of things. It could be Valley fever or Tick fever, or it could be a tumor or something gastrointestinal. We won't know until we run some tests". So we took the tests because we wanted to know what it was and by the time we had spent over $1,000, everything came back as inconclusive. It wasn't until we contacted a family member that had something similar happen to their pet - that turned out to be poisoning via weed killer and grass fertilizer - and suggested Milk of Magnesium as a cure. And low and behold, it worked. An $11 bottle cured what $1,000 worth of tests could not find. We had TOLD the vet that it was a HIGH possibility that he was poisoned, but the vet did not even take that into consideration and thus caused our dog to suffer with it for TWO WEEKS with misdiagnosis and misguided tests. The $11 cure took all of 2 DAYS to take affect. We spent $1,000 for this vet to come up with nothing and he STILL wanted to run more tests, and then we spent $11 and saw results within 2 days. This vet didn't heed our word and continued to milk us dry and cause our dog to suffer anyway. Seeing similar stories in the reviews, we can guarantee we will NEVER be utilizing this vets "skills" - or lack there of - ever again. Read Less

The doctor and his staff are always professional, pleasant and willing to discuss all/any concerns I may have regarding my fur babies health. I called to schedule an appt for my sick bird and was given an appt the next afternoon. My bird passed away that night. I spoke with two employees the next day to let them know about my bird's passing and to discuss a new patient appt for my other bird. Neither person expressed their condolences or said that they were sorry that my bird passed away. That was my first impression of this facility. Dr Thrift is the best vet I have ever been to. He has compassion, empathy, and truelly loves our animal family members. Doctor Thrift has taken very good care of our two Labrador Retrievers. One had kennel cough that caused bronchitis and our new adopted dog had kennel cough that caused pneumonia. She was also sick with Valley Fever. It was not a fun time when we met but he and his staff were there for us and I believe saved both our dogs from dying. I went to Bell Animal and Bird Hospital looking for a new vet that was closer to my home. I specifically wanted a small individual practice and this clinic met that criteria. I was also looking for a vet that doesn't promote aversive training techniques in their recommended links, with the assumption the vet would be more up to date on stress free handling, I saw no aversive suggestions in the links. When we arrived Diana, the assistant, was very nice and friendly. My dog Briley liked her and seemed comfortable. Unfortunately that was the last good thing about the visit. We were there specifically to make sure there was no obvious medical reason for a sudden shift in my dog's behavior. Dr. Thrift came into the exam room and basically ignored Briley, making no attempt to reassure her. Briley was picked up and placed on the metal table attached to the wall, she is a 66lb dog and those are typically used for small animals, she was very unsteady and began shaking. Dr. Thrift did the basic exam but then did a series of rough handling measures including jabbing the wooden end of a long q-tip into each nostril to 'see if she has feeling'. I have never seen this done and was very put off by it. By the end of the exam there was nothing obvious medically that caused her behavior change and Dr. Thrift said it could be caused by anything basically, which is what I already knew. He also mentioned that if there was continued or escalated aggression that for safety of all involved euthanasia may need to be considered. Honestly, that clinched that we would not be going back to this vet. Being involved in rescue I know that Euthanasia must sometimes be considered as a humane option, however this was in response to a one time dominance attitude towards another dog from my normally friendly dog, not exactly Cujo. In addition to the rough handling and poor social skills with both people and dogs Dr. Thrift did not seem to listen very well when I described our reason for being there and seemed surprised whenever I already knew about various medical issues that are potential causes to behavior changes. We will stick with our previous vet even though it's a further drive as I would rather have kind handling in all aspects of vet care.Read Less

i was already terrified enough as is with the fact my dog was sick, and the only thing Dr Thrift was willing to discuss was putting my dog to sleep. it was aweful! i took my dog to another Hospital, and turns out my dog had Kennal cough and pneumonia. he was given antibiotics, saline, and within a few days, he was a jumping puppy. My min pin had a HORRIBLE rash covering his stomach.... $75 later (including prescriptions)... in less than 24 hours his entire rash is almost gone. I have been going to this vet for over 15 years and he and his staff are wonderful. About 8 years ago one of my cats ate a string and the vet worked over him for hours performing the most delicate surgery (allowing my husband to watch) he pulled string out of my cat's intestines inch by inch until it was all out. We thought we were going to lose Hero but he's still with us over 8 years later. They have trimmed our rabbit's claws and taken care of our numerous animals through the years. This Hospital was very clean and well-kept. The staff was polite and knowladgeable on the phone and greeted me like familly when I brought in my cat Zoey and my dog Sadie. The Doctor was gentle and kind to my animals and was very prompt, I was barely in the room before he came in and introduced himself. I was in for vaccinations and nail trims for both Sadie and Zoey and the services were quick and the fees were reasonable. I just recently took my dogs and my cat in to Bell Animal and Bird Hospital and I was very impressed with the service I recievced. The staff was very friendly and quickly got my pets and i into a room. The Doctor was quick to come in and introduce himself and was very knowledgable.The prices wre comprable to the vet I used to go to and they didn't waste my time at all. I got in and got what I needed without much delay.
