We have been taking our fur children to this animal hospital for about 12 years. We have had to have 2 animals put to sleep and found the staff to be very sensitive and caring. We now have a large dog who under the care of this facility just turned 13 years old. She has little to no illness and still acts as if she is a puppy. I believe in part this is due to the excellent care she has received at this animal hospital. I recommend them to anyone I come across. Read Less

This place is horrible the vet was very unfriendly and personable, she did not give much information on my dog and her pregnancy, not to mention she wanted to do a C-section at day 55 which would have meant the poor baby would have been terminated. $160 later for an x-ray that was only one sided, they did not lay my dog on her back to be able to view the puppy better, and it was the worst experience I have had with a vet out of the three opinions that I got. Luckily I did not have to pay $1000 for a C-section, nor did I have to pay $650 for a C-section, I was able to find Arizona span neuter in Scottsdale and they were able to do a C-section and were very helpful and loving and caring all for $400 which included pain medication. They took great care of my baby and the newborn puppy and I am so appreciative of them. Don't go to Glendale Animal Hospital make the drive if you have to and go to that Arizona span neuter clinic in Scottsdale well worth it. Read Less

Dr Day has treated my various dogs for 16 years. He compassionately treated my old fellow years ago, and gave me plenty of uninterrupted time to say goodbye when the time came to let him go with dignity. As the owner of 6 dogs and 2 cats, my family and I are frequent visitors! As the majority of our animals are rescues, they tend to have more medical issues than the average, particularly our older dogs. Most recently, our oldest and largest dog was extremely ill and required extensive surgery and prognosis was not as good as we hoped. Dr. Brown and Dr. Day went above and beyond to do everything in their power to help save our guy. Dr. Brown even went in to check on him late in the evening and called with an update at 10pm. I have been a patient of Dr. Day's (and now also Dr. Brown) since 1984! At that time, I had a feisty Siamese mix from NY whose vet office behavior was roughly Linda Blair in "The Exorcist" ... but Dr. Day dealt with her excellently. As she got older, she was diagnosed with kidney problems but, with his guidance, she lived - active and happy - to the remarkable age of 18. And he also took care of my second cat for the 16 years of his life, which sadly ended recently. I am in the process of adopting another cat (an older cat, on whom I will need guidance), and you can be assured I would never even consider going to another place to care for my beloved pets. For more than 6 months my little Maltese had been coughing every time he drinks. THREE times I brought this up to Dr. Day. The diagnosis (without any examination at all) was that "that's very common in small dogs as they get older". Finally I took him to another vet. After taking the time to examine him it was discovered that he has lung cancer. So, thanks to Dr. Day, my dog had cancer for more than 6 months without treatment. This delay effectively signed his death warrant. So, if you want a third-rate quack who cares more about taking your money than your pet by all means see Dr. Day. Read Less

I went in knowing very little about my dogs condition, she instantly came down with something awful and over the weekend ended up spending 24 hours in the ER with no actual conclusion as to why she was unable to move and was having other issues, took less than an hour with Dr Brown and I knew what was going on and how to fix it! I had to rush my baby dog in here this morning as he had been vomiting all night. They were close by and I had driven by a few times before. Unfortunately he's got parvo and they are doing what they can, but I was never treated so well by the vet. dr. Brown is her name I think and she stopped what she was doing to see Teddy and me. Everyone was friendly and nice despite me freeking out and I'm still upset but I wanted to thank everyone for helping me and understanding my upset! Would recommend this place for sure. Read Less

I am so happy to have found Dr. Day. I've been taking my dog, Snickers to him for over a year to treat a Valley Fever issue, and more recently because she was sick from eating treats out of the cat box! She was up and around like her old self the next day. We recently took one of our kittens in to have her spayed by Dr. Day. I've always had very good experiences with Dr. Day and his staff. One staff member even gave my car a jump when my battery died while trying to leave after one of our appointments. Cares more about making money than helping animals. Went in for a check up and an examination of ticks, told her I thought there might be another tick and so the doctor barely looked and said she was fine and not to give her any medication as the chemicals in it are bad for the puppy but also recommended getting the hospitals medicine. When I called back after I found the tick completely engorged (in the same spot I had asked her to examine) she asked $45 just to look at it and more for the "procedure and anesthetic". Ended up going to wags and wings and getting a full removal and grooming for $35. Read Less

I have to say I'm very saddened by the responses I've read from Glendale Animal Hospital when responding to other reviewers. I believe a company should communicate with the public professionally and it seems as though a teenager is responding in a defensive manner. With that being said I don't expect much different from my review: This is late but in 2013 I used this facility to board my cat while going out of town for a funeral. We took plenty of our own supplies including her food, bowls, carrier and a blanket. When we returned we found that my cat was left completely isolated in an attic type space, she had no food or water and her litter box looked as if it hadn't been touched the entire time. When we questioned the situation we were told the employees weren't able to touch her, weren't able to feed or water her and had to leave her alone during her stay. I did not pay to have my cat neglected while out of town but that was what they described to me. I paid in full (even for the additional day, which when I spoke to them on the phone to add an additional day I was never told there was an issue) and left as soon as possible. I have not looked back even though I live right down the street. I was so excited to find a vet within 5 minutes to my home but it broke my heart that they were so neglectful to my family member. There were no apologies, there was no notification of a problem and there was no attempt to redeem themselves. We were very disappointed in the boarding portion of their facility and recommend anyone looking to utilize their services do a full visit with their staff, look at online reviews overall and use your best judgement when choosing to leave your family member in the care of someone else. We have been going to Dr. Day for years and love him! He has seen our cat and dogs for various reasons including boarding, spaying/neutering and chiropractic care. He and his associate, Dr. Brown, have always been so kind and thorough in the care of our animals.
