Agua Fria puts on a good front, if you're thinking about applying there DON'T. They treat the staff VERY unfairly. They make a lot of promises they don't keep and allow certain people to do things that others can't. There's one tech in particular who's related to the practice manager and gets special treatment. Its incredibly frustrating, ESPECIALLY when you work your ass off every shift. Take my advice and work for a different clinic.

I have a dog with a timid nature and the staff was well prepared to take care of him. Another positive was the short wait time. We have been taking our dog here for the past few years and have usually received good service, including a life saving surgery just two years back. When our dog suddenly began having extreme difficulty walking and standing, we took him immediately into the vet. We met with a different vet than we usually see here. She ordered body images and blood tests, and sent us home with pain killers saying that he probably had arthritis. 2 or 3 days later she notified us that the tests had shown that our dog was in good health besides having high blood sugar, and recommended we start him on what would be an expensive insulin course the following week. Our beloved dog passed away less than a week after this appointment where we were told there was nothing wrong with him besides his high blood sugar. His cause of death? Highly metastatic cancer in his blood vessels and a tumor in his abdominal that burst causing him to bleed out internally. There was nothing we could have done to save him on short notice. The vet who pronounced his death at a different, emergency pet hospital said his high blood sugar could have been caused by pain or stress as a result of the cancer. We are very saddened by our dog’s passing, and especially angered given the apparent negligence of one particular vet in this office. How is it possible that in the images that were reviewed by the vet and an “imaging expert” and in his blood work, that there was no indication of this blood vessel cancer or the tumor? Researching this cancer after our dogs passing, has shown that this cancer is relatively common in dogs and weakness in legs a key symptom of this cancer, and still, they sent us home out several hundred for these apparently useless tests that gave us false hope and security in our dogs health. I don’t understand how they missed this in their tests or how they could have been so careless and not thorough in their examination. It’s been a devestating loss that we were far from prepared for.

I had a real animal emergency today; someone found a small dog on the side of the road with his mouth torn open. He struggled to breathe, and the people that found him didn't know where to take him. They gave him to me because I happened to be right next to them. I looked up the closest animal emergency veterinarian office on my phone and found Agua Fria. I drove over there; the parking lot was empty. There was a sign on the door that said, "Staff meeting til 2pm. Sorry for the inconvenience." I'll say! We barely made it to another vet as the poor dog struggled to breathe, but we made it. Clearly, this is not a true emergency pet hospital...otherwise someone would've been here.

My cat became very sick suddenly and was not eating or drinking. All other vet clinics I called didn't have anything for weeks. When I called this place the woman told me as soon as the next day they could get me in but to call if she got any worse. Unfortunately she DID get worse and very quickly, when I called back they told me to bring her in right away. I didn't have more than a two minute wait when I got there and they took excellent care of her. I was very happy with the service they provided and the prices are extremely reasonable. The antibiotics and steroids were under three dollars combined. I was very impressed. I will likely continue to come here the next time it's needed.

I felt a lump on one of my 3 yr old cats, and after reviewing hundreds of on-line comments, chose Agua Fria. If "perfect" is possible, they are! From the front desk, to the techs, and to both doctors, this place is professional, passionate, compassionate and technically proficient. I had no trouble immediately recognizing, and fully trusting their diagnosis and recommendations. I received a call directly from Dr Duston (an owner!) that night, and after my Martha's surgery, by another doctor a few days later with the results of the biopsy. Look.....of course it made me happy when the results were "no cancer; full recovery", however my opinion and rating would have objectively been the same. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! (I just hope that they can do as well with the littermate sister when she comes in; she is WAY less compliant!)

My older Dachshund has been off and on sick over the past year. Each time, the vet is very accommodating by getting us in quickly, but each time we are there, they continue to push very major dental surgery to fix oral fistulas in his mouth. The poor guy seems to be in no pain, and is generally a very happy dog. He's also about 14-years-old (I don't know exactly as he was a rescue). I think it's horrible that they push such a major surgery for a senior dog. I will not consider the surgery, as at his age I consider it cruel to put him through that. Last time there, it was my fiance that brought him. She said they were pretty condescending regarding the condition of his mouth/teeth. Again, he was a shelter dog, and had all of those issues when we rescued him. We were not the cause. They clearly question that, however, which is incredibly rude, in my opinion.
Each time he's gotten sick, they state he's in advanced renal failure (he's been in "advanced renal failure" for over a year now). Amazingly, antibiotics appear to temporarily cure this renal failure. Amazing, huh?
Also, despite in such an advanced state of disease, as they claim, they push hard for major, and expensive, surgery. It's totally inappropriate, in my opinion.
I continue to go here because they are close to home, and my little guy gets anxiety riding in the car. So, I tolerate their pushiness, and borderline condescension, for his sake.

The staff at Agua Fria has always been super welcoming and polite. I have two rescues who were very skittish and they did everything to make them feel comfortable including one of the male doctors making his voice a higher pitch so he didn't scare my shepherd mix who was abused by a man. They are always excited to answer any of my questions and make me feel at ease. I also think their pricing is very reasonable. I recommend Agua Fria to everyone.

She even drove with me to the animal hospital because I was in bad shape. You can tell the doctors and staff here are genuine and truly care about the animals they treat. And if you compare their prices to other vets in the area, they are by far the least expensive.

I found 3 kittens that were only 3 weeks old that had been hurled over a fence and thrown away in a box like trash. I called Agua Fria, they got us right in, explained the things that I needed to do to help them and get them through without their Mama. Came in for an annual exam. I just moved out here from the east side. The staff here are very friendly and caring. The prices here seems reasonable although the area seems sketchy but that doesn't phase me since I grew up in a far worst area. The exam room felt stuffy and warm. I would suggest cranking the A/C especially in the Arizona summer. Overall I will be returning if I am still on this side of town.

I cant thank Liz & Corinna enough for how they treated me, my husband and most importantly, my dog. If anything could have been done to make the reason we were there less horrible, they did it with their words and actions. The Veterinarians and support personnel are very professional and caring at Aqua Fria Animal Clinic. We have been bringing our dogs here for many year. We do miss Dr. "J" but the excellent service has never dropped off. The staff is always accommodating, even when we are a walk-in. We even receive followup calls to check on our boys. I'm so glad that a friend recommended this clinic to me! When I moved from Michigan, I was looking for a new home for my fur baby, Gucci. The veterinarians at this clinic are so caring. Gucci has always hated going to the vet but they are very gentle with him. I really appreciate that they thoroughly educate me on how to care for him. It's not just about money for them. If there's an over the counter or home remedy to treat a condition, they will share that with me. I just took Gucci for his annual check up and a couple of days later, I received a follow up call just to check and see how he was doing. Gotta love it!

We spend about half our time at our Palm Desert CA home and I would drive back to Goodyear if our "Kiki" needed medical attention. Having serviced the public for 52 years I can attest to the fact that most negative reviews are usually the fault of the "reviewer".

I chose to have x-rays taken and we found out she was just full of gas. They were kind and competent and were able to give her some medicine to help her. I was so pleased that I am changing her regular care over to them.

We took our BullMastiffs here and we liked the veterinarian she was great! She came in the room and discussed everything with us and gave us feedback without drama. Interaction with Amy Afek DVM was awesome she interacted with us and didn't send in the medical staff to tell us anything. She also was upfront about cost of all medications and visit. We recommend this place for any animal because they truly care about your pets! Our pets are our family so we treat them the same.

I felt something else could have been done so I decided to switch Vets. I am so glad I did! I am so happy with Agua Fria AC! They care and make me feel so welcome and comfortable every time. I love the online system and the PetPortal they have, it keeps record of my animals so I can see all prescriptions and when exams are done. Thank you so much Agua Fria Animal Clinic!

Agua Fria puts on a good front, if you're thinking about applying there DON'T. They treat the staff VERY unfairly. They make a lot of promises they don't keep and allow certain people to do things that others can't. There's one tech in particular who's related to the practice manager and gets special treatment. Its incredibly frustrating, ESPECIALLY when you work your ass off every shift. Take my advice and work for a different clinic.

We have been taking our dog here for the past few years and have usually received good service, including a life saving surgery just two years back. When our dog suddenly began having extreme difficulty walking and standing, we took him immediately into the vet. We met with a different vet than we usually see here. She ordered body images and blood tests, and sent us home with pain killers saying that he probably had arthritis. 2 or 3 days later she notified us that the tests had shown that our dog was in good health besides having high blood sugar, and recommended we start him on what would be an expensive insulin course the following week. Our beloved dog passed away less than a week after this appointment where we were told there was nothing wrong with him besides his high blood sugar. His cause of death? Highly metastatic cancer in his blood vessels and a tumor in his abdominal that burst causing him to bleed out internally. There was nothing we could have done to save him on short notice. The vet who pronounced his death at a different, emergency pet hospital said his high blood sugar could have been caused by pain or stress as a result of the cancer. We are very saddened by our dog’s passing, and especially angered given the apparent negligence of one particular vet in this office. How is it possible that in the images that were reviewed by the vet and an “imaging expert” and in his blood work, that there was no indication of this blood vessel cancer or the tumor? Researching this cancer after our dogs passing, has shown that this cancer is relatively common in dogs and weakness in legs a key symptom of this cancer, and still, they sent us home out several hundred for these apparently useless tests that gave us false hope and security in our dogs health. I don’t understand how they missed this in their tests or how they could have been so careless and not thorough in their examination. It’s been a devestating loss that we were far from prepared for.

I had a real animal emergency today; someone found a small dog on the side of the road with his mouth torn open. He struggled to breathe, and the people that found him didn't know where to take him. They gave him to me because I happened to be right next to them. I looked up the closest animal emergency veterinarian office on my phone and found Agua Fria. I drove over there; the parking lot was empty. There was a sign on the door that said, "Staff meeting til 2pm. Sorry for the inconvenience." I'll say! We barely made it to another vet as the poor dog struggled to breathe, but we made it. Clearly, this is not a true emergency pet hospital...otherwise someone would've been here.

My cat became very sick suddenly and was not eating or drinking. All other vet clinics I called didn't have anything for weeks. When I called this place the woman told me as soon as the next day they could get me in but to call if she got any worse. Unfortunately she DID get worse and very quickly, when I called back they told me to bring her in right away. I didn't have more than a two minute wait when I got there and they took excellent care of her. I was very happy with the service they provided and the prices are extremely reasonable. The antibiotics and steroids were under three dollars combined. I was very impressed. I will likely continue to come here the next time it's needed.

I felt a lump on one of my 3 yr old cats, and after reviewing hundreds of on-line comments, chose Agua Fria. If "perfect" is possible, they are! From the front desk, to the techs, and to both doctors, this place is professional, passionate, compassionate and technically proficient. I had no trouble immediately recognizing, and fully trusting their diagnosis and recommendations. I received a call directly from Dr Duston (an owner!) that night, and after my Martha's surgery, by another doctor a few days later with the results of the biopsy. Look.....of course it made me happy when the results were "no cancer; full recovery", however my opinion and rating would have objectively been the same. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! (I just hope that they can do as well with the littermate sister when she comes in; she is WAY less compliant!)

My older Dachshund has been off and on sick over the past year. Each time, the vet is very accommodating by getting us in quickly, but each time we are there, they continue to push very major dental surgery to fix oral fistulas in his mouth. The poor guy seems to be in no pain, and is generally a very happy dog. He's also about 14-years-old (I don't know exactly as he was a rescue). I think it's horrible that they push such a major surgery for a senior dog. I will not consider the surgery, as at his age I consider it cruel to put him through that. Last time there, it was my fiance that brought him. She said they were pretty condescending regarding the condition of his mouth/teeth. Again, he was a shelter dog, and had all of those issues when we rescued him. We were not the cause. They clearly question that, however, which is incredibly rude, in my opinion.
Each time he's gotten sick, they state he's in advanced renal failure (he's been in "advanced renal failure" for over a year now). Amazingly, antibiotics appear to temporarily cure this renal failure. Amazing, huh?
Also, despite in such an advanced state of disease, as they claim, they push hard for major, and expensive, surgery. It's totally inappropriate, in my opinion.
I continue to go here because they are close to home, and my little guy gets anxiety riding in the car. So, I tolerate their pushiness, and borderline condescension, for his sake.

The staff at Agua Fria has always been super welcoming and polite. I have two rescues who were very skittish and they did everything to make them feel comfortable including one of the male doctors making his voice a higher pitch so he didn't scare my shepherd mix who was abused by a man. They are always excited to answer any of my questions and make me feel at ease. I also think their pricing is very reasonable. I recommend Agua Fria to everyone.

She even drove with me to the animal hospital because I was in bad shape. You can tell the doctors and staff here are genuine and truly care about the animals they treat. And if you compare their prices to other vets in the area, they are by far the least expensive.

I found 3 kittens that were only 3 weeks old that had been hurled over a fence and thrown away in a box like trash. I called Agua Fria, they got us right in, explained the things that I needed to do to help them and get them through without their Mama. I cant thank Liz & Corinna enough for how they treated me, my husband and most importantly, my dog. I'm so glad that a friend recommended this clinic to me! When I moved from Michigan, I was looking for a new home for my fur baby, Gucci. The veterinarians at this clinic are so caring. Gucci has always hated going to the vet but they are very gentle with him. I really appreciate that they thoroughly educate me on how to care for him. It's not just about money for them. If there's an over the counter or home remedy to treat a condition, they will share that with me. I just took Gucci for his annual check up and a couple of days later, I received a follow up call just to check and see how he was doing. Gotta love it!

We spend about half our time at our Palm Desert CA home and I would drive back to Goodyear if our "Kiki" needed medical attention. I chose to have x-rays taken and we found out she was just full of gas. They were kind and competent and were able to give her some medicine to help her. Interaction with Amy Afek DVM was awesome she interacted with us and didn't send in the medical staff to tell us anything. She also was upfront about cost of all medications and visit. Thank you being there when we needed you all the most. Our beloved Simba entered eternal rest today with our family , friends and your staff present . Even though we've known it would be soon that thought would just skim our minds ...we got to say good bye and touch him till his last breath and for that we will be forever grateful . Simba was not just a Retired K9 who worked 6+ years .. to us he has been family since the first time we ever met him .

These doctors are all wonderful and excellent at what they do. Your pets will have the best care at their facility no doubt! 100% recommendation from me! I absolutely love this animal clinic. I waas unhappy with my previous Vet but continued to see him, my cat Piglet became ill and ended up passing away. I felt something else could have been done so I decided to switch Vets. I am so glad I did! I am so happy with Agua Fria AC! They care and make me feel so welcome and comfortable every time. I love the online system and the PetPortal they have, it keeps record of my animals so I can see all prescriptions and when exams are done. Thank you so much Agua Fria Animal Clinic!
