We have been pleased with the care received for our 13 year old little doggie. However, this week I took her in for her rabies shot. At checkin, the very nice receptionist confirmed she was there for a rabies shot. When the vet came in the room to see our doggie she started checking her out and listened to her heart and asked if I had any concerns, etc. Thinking that I was just there for dog to get a shot, I did not ask any questions because, in general, our dog is doing just fine. When I checked out, the bill was 74.00, so I asked why it was so high for the shot. This is when the receptionist told me that by law the vet must conduct a checkup on the animal when a rabies shot is received. Had I known that I would be paying for a checkup, I might have taken a little more time discussing aging issues or whatever...The receptionist should have told me at checkin that the rabies shot visit would include a checkup as well and I would be charged accordingly. I've been taking my pets to Valley Verde for 6 years and I am completely satisfied with their service and prices. They are very caring. The new veterinarians who took over for Dr. Nichol are excellent - very up on new information and techniques. I feel like my pets are in very good hands at Valley Verde. Read Less

EXORBITANT PRICES - I was referred to this veterinary clinic by a friend sadly. To give you an idea of the overcharges I called some other vets in the area for the same procedures, here are the comparisons: Exam at VV is $56, other vet is $45. Urine analysis at VV is $78.50 at other vet is $30.50. Urine Cortisol Creatinine test at VV is $157.88 at other vet is $45.00. Cost of abdominal ultrasound at VV is $535.00 at other vet it is $300. I don't know about you, but I am not made of money and cannot justify her outrageous pricing. Not to mention that she wanted to run other diagnostics that were absolutely not necessary, I won't even go into those costs. Read Less

My sweet little kitty developed a urinary problem. I phoned on Monday morning, and was able to fill a cancellation and see the vet right away. Dr. Nolasco was wonderful and helpful and so nice to my cat. She phoned the next day, to see how we were doing, and emailed me some information. My little kitty seems all better now. Read Less

I feel very comfortable bringing my dog, Zoey, into your office for her long day visits for her curve checks for her diabetes. She enjoys coming to the office. I love the atmosphere there and the friendliness of the staff, not to mention how clean the office always is. I would have given a 5 star but had an issue with a receptionist to the point I asked for my dogs records. Frank however, who manages the office was interested in hearing what I had to say and it was resolved, at least for now. This made me very happy as the veterinary care here is top notch and they are excellent with my dog! Read Less

All Veterinarians are friendly and explain everything to you, Vet techs are great, office staff friendly and personable. We taken in our cats and they did a through examination and were very good with our pets. We had one that had problems for a couple years and the exam was better then the other vets she had been to. The x-rays were shown to us with explanations for what they thought was wrong. We are impressed with the office and will continue to take our pets to them. Read Less

My dog had an infected tooth with a slab fracture eternally and a cracked root internally. Both Dr. Nichol and Dr. Clark were excellent as well as the entire staff. I highly recommend their care and compassion for animals. Everything is clean and very professionally done. Follow up calls are also nice and reassuring. Worst experience with a Vet ever!   Dr Nichol might like animals, but she clearly does not like people.  Does not return calls, and totally expects her office staff, who say they are "just like RN's", to communicate with the pet owner.  Note to office staff:  If you are not RN's, you should not promote yourself as "just like RN's"... That would be a criminal act..  Besides being misrepresented, they are rude, dismissive and very, very poorly equipped intellectually to be discussing clinical issues and actually trying to represent what Dr. Nichol MAY have told them to tell me. I would not recommend Valley Verde or Dr Nichol to anyone.   My little pup is now  being well cared for in the area by a Vet with great communication skills, and an office that is professional and not misrepresenting themselves. Five days ago, our dog jumped off the bed and was immediately unable to move her rear legs. Because we had used Valley Verde previously for teeth cleaning, we quickly took her there. Dr. Nicol was not there, and we instead saw Dr. Clark. She took Xrays ($300+), and spent time explaining her interpretation of them, as well as prescribed some medication. However, the next day, which was Saturday, there was no one available to provide the follow up care and support needed, making it necessary for us to find care elsewhere. Nor has there been a single call of outreach to us from them. Given the seriousness of this situation, we feel the care and attention given to our dog by this facility was insufficient and inadequate. Read Less
