Dr Adkins has been my vet since the mid 70's, my vet, my choice. During these years there has always been support, education, laughter at the good times and tears w/tough conversations at the difficult times. From Day 1, I have valued his knowledge, his understanding and most importantly his interaction with and care shown for my pets. I can’t thank him enough for all he has done for my “babies.” He takes the time to thoroughly explain what is going on, ensuring I understand and where that discussion may lead us. Through laughter and tears, I always knew/know my pets were/are in the best hands possible. If you forget to ask a question, call back and you get the answer. Like any dr’s office, sometimes you get right in, sometimes you have to wait. I’m thankful for the times when he has needed to spend that extra time with my pet and patient when someone else’s pet may need that same time in return. Sometimes you see the bill and gasp but knowing my pets are in the best hands of a trusted doctor seems to ease the pocketbook pain a bit. I gasp thinking what my ankle surgery cost. When it’s time for that “difficult” decision, Dr Adkins has been stellar. He explains what’s going on and with his help he supports your decision. He cares! This man truly cares about his patients, ensuring each owner is informed and engaged in what’s going on, decisions to be made and paths to take. When it’s time to say goodbye to your loved one, he feels your pain and supports you with whatever decision you make. When you bring in that new pup, the joy on his face is rewarding and once again, you know your pet is in the best possible hands. They did not get a hold of me to tell me my quote until the day before my cats appointment and I called multiple times. $900 dollars for a teeth cleaning my cat had a year prior for $100 at a different vet. I stood up at the desk my first and only visit for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. Shop around, folks, there are better and more attentive vets out there. Read Less

Frank, Louie and Sylvie really love Dr. Adkins. We loved Dr. Zinn too, but he has since moved on to specialize in pathology. Recently, we were there and seen Dr. Shaird, I believe she is a temporary vet, but we looooooved her just as much as Dr. Adkins. Can she please stay?! Frank has been there a lot lately for an infected paw pad and the staff there has been awesome - I mean they always have. However, my 3 kids and my parents fur babies kind of have an affinity for Melanie. She's just really nice. So is Heather. Our family has been going here for a long time. Great people here and I wouldn't go anywhere else unless it was a dire emergency. Dr. Adkins is a genius veterinarian wizard. I have mixed feelings because this is the first time I have been severely unhappy at this clinic. We always took our cats to Dr. Zinn who was amazing and caring but since he left, we had to make an appointment with Dr. McNulty. Our 13yr old cat needed to be seen for breathing problems. She has severe atrophy in her legs as well as arthritis. I always feel like I am going to break her when I pick her up but Dr. McNulty had NO qualms about dragging her around on the table. I was appalled at how roughly someone could handle a fragile old cat (who was being incredibly compliant, by the way). It's unfortunate because we absolutely adore Melanie, and the rest of the staff who treat our kitties like they are precious. We brought our 14 yr old shihtzu Sammie today after he suffered a seizure. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to our dear boy. We were treated with respect and kindness by all there. However, never have I met a vet I regarded so highly or respected so much or trusted so completely as Dr. Jack Adkins of Brown Road Animal Clinic. His caring goes beyond the life of the pet. When our dear Barney crossed the Rainbow Bridge, we received a compassionate, hand-written note of sympathy. Each year, my classroom has a stuffed animal as a class pet, and Dr. Adkins takes time to examine these little stuffed animals so I can tell the students that their class pet was given a clean bill of health. I recently moved to Arizona and needed to find a veterinarian for my senior dog with an eye problem. I called for an appointment and was able to be seen the next day. Dr. McNulty and her staff exceeded my expectations. She (and the clinic assistants!!) were very caring. She took the time to do a thorough examination and clearly explained the problem with my dog's eye and what could be done to help. The costs for their services were very reasonable. If you think they are more expensive than other offices I will tell you that they are worth it. We have used Brown Road Animal Clinic for many years. The staff is warm and caring and very attentive. When our dog was ill, they called frequently to check on her. When bad news had to be delivered we got a personal call from Dr.McNulty and she was truly sad with us. I know she does this on a regular basis but she is certainly not hardened by it. After we had to euthanize her, we got a personally signed card from the office and Mia's foot prints on cards for us. It was followed by a nice poem and certificate saying that BRAC had made a donation to Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center in Mia's name. Brown Road Animal Clinic in my opinion is the best. From Dr. Adkins to Melanie and the rest of the staff they are excellent. My entire family has been taking all of our pets here for about 25 years now. When are animals have been sick and needed to stay and Dr. Adkins doesn't want to leave them alone he has brought them home to keep an eye on them. When we have lost a pet they are so kind and compassionate Dr. Adkins has always called to send his condolences and sent a handwritten letter. They are very easy to work with and even though I live now in San Tan Valley I don't mind driving 30 miles to get the best care for my loved ones. I would highly recommend this practice.Read Less
