I brought my 13 year old dog in today as a new patient. She's a senior dog and she's been showing signs of decline and illness. I brought her today realizing that the news may not be good. Sure enough I was told she has about 2-6 months left. The doctor, the son, was very sharp, down to earth, straightforward and compassionate. All this meant so much. I'm a person who likes the details of a diagnosis and I got that without asking. I realized after he explained everything that I wanted to wright it down. He went over everything in detail a second time with me and wasn't rushed at all. All my options were explained to me. And the doctor really took his time to make sure I understood everything. That was very much appreciated considering the nature of the news. I can't say enough good things about the staff and the doctor. It really made all the difference receiving the bad news. I would recommend them and I'll be going back in the future with my other pets. As a side note I noticed others asked how much an exam is. I paid $58. My whole family has gone here for years (grandparents, parents, and now my sister and I) because they are the best. Sometimes you have to wait because they don't take appointments, but the personalized care and feasible options are worth the wait. They know Tedward as soon as we walk in and Dr.Dan always gives me honest answers. My cat has to be on a prescription diet for the rest of her life. This food costs 4 times what ordinary cat food costs. I looked all over the Internet for a cheaper source for this prescription food. It's expensive, but I failed to find any place that sells this food cheaper than I get it at Eastside. My cat is doing better on the new diet. This problem will take time. But with the patients of the staff at Eastside we are working together to get my kitty back on track. There's also the benefit that their location just happens to be about 6 blocks down the street. The vets were apparently having a BAD customer day, were pretty frazzled & took it out on me, a good customer with very well behaved dogs. For one, they were mad I brought in my sick my dog (WTF are vets for??). Two "I" had to talk them into a reasonable tone and figure out the tests my dog needed. Three, they said I and everyone else here don't know what worms look like. Some more examples later... They admitted I was right a few times and NEVER once apologized for their behavior. Additionally, the main reason my dog was sick was because of the diet THIS vet had him on. Well...My family has been going here to Bramley for ages, first Senior then Junior. And this week I am very, VERY upset. Nay, outraged. I took my 7 year old cat in to see Senior on Tuesday and he told me my cat had a tumor. We settled on getting blood work to see what was up and he went in back to get the crew. Well that's when things got way out of hand. The doors to the back where the kennels are are very thin. Senior and Junior started having an argument over what to do with my cat. Senior wanted the blood work, Junior pretty much said he was a cat with a death wish and we wouldn't pay for the surgery so why even bother. Well hearing this I was getting upset. I called my mom, in tears. Well the appointment came to a staggering end. Senior came in, frustrated and upset himself and pretty much told me to take my cat and go home and decide and they won't pay for the followup to put the cat down. Very heartbreaking. So, I went elsewhere for a second opinion and blood work that Senior and I settled on but because of Junior, my cat never got. Well, my cat doesn't have a tumor, nor mass. Just an infection in his kidneys that could have been diagnosed a lot sooner if the vets at Eastside Animal Hospital were actually professional and if Junior would have come in to examine the cat rather than just put his two cents without it. I've owned dogs for over 20 years, so have been using vet clinics that long. In all these years, I've never found a clinic as amazing as this one. I saw Dr. Bramley (the son), and he took so much time with me regarding a very difficult situation with my dog. Most vets I've been to seem to want to see how fast they can get you in and out, no real sense of caring. This experience was different, there was no rushing and no seeing how much money they could extract from you before you left. Very reasonably priced and best vet experience I've had in 20 years. You will not be disappointed I promise. As others mentioned, they do not take appointments so it's first come first serve. But I actually like that approach better. I have been coming here for over 10 years and cannot say enough nice things, although there are no appointments nothing can be perfect. Both vets (dad and son) are amazing with great puppy side manner. They never up sell, are honest when you need it the most and I always leave with a smile while my pooch leaves healthy and waging her now 10 year old tail. The service and the doc at this vet are worthy of 5 stars.  The staff was very nice and the doc explained every thing to us.  The cost for the services for our 2 dogs was about $100 less than we normally pay.  We will continue to come here. The reason they lose a star is because they don't take appointments.  It's a first come first serve place.  I showed up Friday after they opened and it was a 45 min wait.  So we showed up 30 mins before they opened and waited until they opened.  They got us back as soon as they opened.  There was someone already waiting and by the time they opened there were 10 people there.   The problem with no appointment is you end up waiting with other dogs that are trying to kill you're dogs.  Kind of chaotic when that's happening. The Dr.s and staff at Eastside Animal Hospital are very friendly. We started going here when our cat developed cancer, so they weren't visits for a happy reason. But my cat liked Dr. Dan and that's what was most important to me and my husband. Unfortunately our cat got quite sick and everybody there was very sympathetic. They even referred us to an in-home euthanasia service. We'll continue to go to them with our other cat. We would recommend them to other animal lovers. Read Less

Dr. Dan is awesome.  I've been taking my dogs & cats to him for years and he knows his stuff and is so great with the animals.  My dog used to have to be muzzled at other vets for immunizations, but doesn't flinch when Dr. Dan does it...he's so casual with them and the dogs feel at ease...the office is old, so if you're looking for modern, this isn't the place, but they know their stuff and prices are beyond reasonable.  I drive 30 minutes to get there and usually have to wait (they don't take appointments), but I love how he handles my pets and how he is very honest and realistic with prognosis and options. We LOVE this place.  3rd generation veterinarian in the same Mesa building.  Exceptionally affordable, you NEVER get an up-sell, very knowledgeable, compassionate and funny.  There are very gentle with our dogs and we are on our second generations of dogs.....very sad when we lost our last two brother and sister dynamic duo Jerry and Tomac.  We have new life again in our home with Opie and Haley and would never hesitate to make the drive from Ahwatukee to North Mesa to have them cared for by this Son and only Semi-retired hard working Father.I found out today that they  are now taking new patients, for a while they were so booked they could only work with the patients they had.  If you have not found a great vet you may want to get in before they have to turn people away again.  A good Dr is hard to find and our dog kidz could not be in better hands. I wouldn't take my dogs anyplace else! Dr. Bramley (both of them) are very caring and treat your pets as their own. I have had nothing but great experiences here and my grandma has been coming here since they opened years ago and keeps coming back to this day. I would highly reccomend this vet to anyone, their prices are beyond reasonable and they are very convienent if you need to make an emergency visit. They removed a tumor on my dog and charged me almost $700 less than other vets, to me it's a no brainer why they are still in business and have a loyal clientele. Read Less

This is a 5 star clinic but is held to a 4 star because nothing in the entire place seems to have been updated since the early 70's when it opened.The Dr. Bramley was a Vet here for years and turned it over to his son Dan. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Bramley and the staff at Eastside Animal Hospital. I had a very difficult decision to make about my aging dog who had developed several serious health conditions. Dr. Bramley took the time to listen to all my concerns, weighed the pros and cons of treatment, and made some helpful recommendations. He is clearly a vet who cares as much about people as he does about animals (a quality I've found lacking at some other animal care facilities).The waiting area and examining rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and there are places to walk your pet outside while you wait.
