I've been coming here for over 30 years! I Love the service, the people, the atmosphere, everything! I've had 5 dogs and a cat, these people actually care about you and your pets! I would give them 50 stars, if only I could! They treat you like Family! And their all Super nice! But most of all, they actually care about my pets, like they were there own pets! They also have boarding too! So if you're going out of town, this place is totally AWESOME for your pets! It's like a Animal Hotel! And when your pet passes away, they treat them like royalty! Staff is pretty cool. They are all nice, they care, and their follow up is on point. The vets I've seen have been great with my cat. Their bedside manner has been what I expected. One complaint is they never clip my cats nails right. It's an art that my previous vet would do fantastically and for free. This one charges and it's sloppy. It's a "pet" peeve, but a small one. It's not the vet who's seen my cat doing the clipping. They have to take my cat to a separate room without me. They are really good at what they do otherwise. Read Less

We have added another family member to our clan and of course we returned to Family Vet Care. Our first adoptee, Shell, is a healthy one year old cat. Her little brother, Copper (8 weeks), had his first appointment Thursday. Mind you, this was just TWO days after we got him. That's how fast we were able to book an appointment!We got his check up and shots. We found out that "she" was actually a "HE" and had a great laugh at our mishap. (We thought it was a girl kitty the whole time!) Dr. Gifford was super friendly and explained what was to come in the next few visits. We left with a follow up for three weeks and an estimate of costs. I appreciate knowing in advance how much something is going to cost (shots, procedures etc) rather than coming in and being hit with a big bill at that moment. Sometimes, you have to budget for things and knowing an expense is coming is easier to deal with. Everyone is attentive and kind to the animals. They take the time to explain before and after. They care for your pet as if it were their own and that is what I want for our fur kids. We love Family Vet Care!! Read Less

Great affordable veterinarian care for cats & dogs. Doctors & staff are very caring, clean, and efficient. The office is always clean. The results, treatment, and long term care for your pet is explained in a caring way. The surgery for our cat was done with great care, and a caring follow up call was done. I'm really like this place.  I started out with Family Vetcare of Chandler whom I really liked Dr. Day.  It just got to be a pain driving that far.  I live in Gilbert and my one dog hates the car.  So I went looking for someone new, closer to my house, had a terrible experience and then it dawned on me they have an office in Mesa too.  So here I am.I'm probably overly picky when it comes to offices, I ran a dental office for 11 years, I just know how people should be treated and expect it.The staff in both places are fabulous!  They greet you right away, and your Dog!  They like them there! From then on your in good hands.  They create good notes so they remember previous care, and are prepared with that info.I Dr. Cooper is awesome, took the time to explain things, let me see the X-ray we had to take.  Just very thorough.Family Vetcare of Mesa also really have super assistants.  And I'm apologizing for not remembering her name, super friendly, caring, awesome all around.  Little, cute, redhead. I was hesitant to take my dog to the vet since we've had bad experiences before at other vet clinics. (He tends to go into protective mode and does not like new people getting too close to him or me) I stopped here with some questions (moving to South Korea) about what I need to get done to be able to take my dog with me overseas. The front desk lady was SO FRIENDLY and informative! She listened to my situation and she happily helped me with the right info! She told me what I needed and so I scheduled my appointment for the next day!Next day, we walk on in and we were quickly greeted and acknowledged upon entering! The nurses came out right away, they took his weight, and we went into the room! My dog was given a treat right a way and the nurses made sure that he felt welcomed. The vet finally came back in and offered my dog another treat. I also really liked that the vet took the time and he explained to us as to why my dog was behaving the way that he was. (Growling) The nurses finally come back in, and they take my dog back to get his tests done. About 10 minutes later, my dog comes back in, tail wagging, and finally eats his treat! Such a fast and smooth visit and great staff, I highly recommend coming here for any vet needs. Read Less

They quoted me a price on the phone for a heart worm prevention shot. When I called back less than 5 minutes later to make the appointment, they told me it was $20 more for the shot that they already quoted me, and it wasn't because of her weight. They also failed to mention that they had to do a heart worm test before they could give her the shot. So the price went up by about 40 % in less than 5 minutes. Very frustrating, bad customer service in that aspect. I will not be going to this facility any more after 6 years with them.Read Less

They performed surgery on my lil 7lb chihuahua n her legs are even worse now plus they quoted me a price and on surgery day when I came to get her I was charged around $400 more then the quote plus I was charged for things I should've not been n never have seen a xray to date and when I called and complained no one even bother to call me back or do a follow-up several weeks later so as far as im concerned they can rot in hell and I'm reporting the clinic going to a new vet today to her xrays and findout what's really going on!!!!!
