Some times in life things happen that are out of our control and when I first called and explained that I had just had a death in the family and had spent thousands of dollars that I really didn't have and could they just do the one necessary test for my dog instead of everything they wanted to do, because at the time I just didn't have the money, they told me no. Of course I was very upset. I had every intention of getting the rest of the tests at his next appointment. I just needed a little help and some compassion. I will say that after speaking to the office manager they did work things out for me which I was very grateful for. After reading the google reviews I took my chihuahua here for a second opinion for his teeth as our regular vet said some needed to be extracted. I cannot say enough good things about this vet and the staff! Dr. Hansen is wonderful! She is so knowledgeable, answers all your questions and never makes you feel rushed. Best thing of all is she is honest and doesn’t push extra services on you that your dog doesn’t need. Dr. Hansen ended up extracting some of my chi’s teeth and did an amazing job. They took excellent care of my pup for the surgery and treated him like their own. We went in today for his recheck and Dr. Hansen spent an hour with me showing me what she extracted and answering all my questions. We have had nothing but good experiences here. Their prices are very reasonable and they have excellent customer service. If your pup needs some teeth pulled I highly recommend Dr. Hansen. I will not be taking my chi to any other vet but here! I can't say enough good about this place. We found a cat that was severely injured. They got us in right away. The vet was amazing, from explaining everything to giving it pain medication right away. Unfortunately the cat was too bad and we had to put it down. During the entire process the vet kept saying we were doing a good thing. You'd be hard pressed to find more attentive veterinarians for your animals. The doctors personally call in response to your follow-up inquiries and sometimes just to check on their patient (new medications, post-surgery, complications, etc.). Personal contact insures nothing gets lost in translation between messages. Amazing people! They truly love and take care of your pet(s)! The owner even sat on the ground to help ease my dogs discomfort of being at the vet. Everyone is so kind and they really take time to know your pet not just treat your pet. I've only had one visit there so far but the experience was wonderful! Easily 5 stars on this one. Our poor dog got a sore on her toe and they got us in same day, were very good with handling our dog who has had issues with vets in the past, and even let us wait with her out in the car until a room was open so that we could avoid any skirmishes out in the main lobby. They took into account all of our needs and excelled on all fronts, including cost. Hopefully we don't need to use their services frequently, but if we do I know I will be coming back here. Dr. Ainsworth and his staff are wonderful!!  In February we were traveling from California to Mesa and we were not there more than an hour before our old dog, Chloe, started having some serious medical issues.  I have worked for a vet for the last 11 years and being in a new place and having to rely on Yelp to find  a Dr., that I would trust like my own Dr. that I worked for, was super stressful.  Searched the Yelp reviews and decided on Mesa Northeast.  Thankfully the staff was able to get us in right away.  Dr. Ainsworth came into the exam room, listened to the issues that Chloe was having, did a very thorough exam and came up with a plan of attack.  "Do whatever it takes" we told him and he scooped up Chloe to start the process.  A while later he returned with unfavorable news.  It was a very heartbreaking day, to say the least. Chloe was seriously the best dog EVER!!   Working in the business for as long as I have I always have my guard up with other vets because the vets I have worked for have been amazing.  Dr. Ainsworth is a vet that I would put into that same category...... amazing!!!  Thank you Dr. Ainsworth and staff,  you all took a hard, heartbreaking day and made it at least tolerable.  If you ever need a vet....... This is the most amazing vet office! They truly care about the life and comfort of your fuzzy baby. I will never go anywhere else. My little girl was dying and they took her from the emergency vet I was at (who was ready to put her to sleep because I didn't have $6000) and saved her life with more care for her than the money. Mesa Northeast Animal Hospital is amazing! I had an emergency today where my German shepherd was attacked by a pitbull. He had several lacerations and bites on all 4 legs, his chest, and neck. I originally brought him to another hospital who said they would take care of him. After calling 7 hours later to find out they hadn't even seen him yet, I went down there. I waited 30 minutes while they supposedly cleaned a room so I could visit my dog, all the while being told he was fine and resting comfortably. That's when my dad found Mesa NE and they said they could see him right away. They even stayed open late to take care of him. I can't tell you how amazing everyone in this office was. Very professional while remaining caring and concerned about my dog. Max is home with me now and resting comfortably. Thank you Mesa Northeast Animal Hospital! I've only been once so far but the doctors were professional and friendly and spent a lot of time with me, and I was happy with the outcome/treatment. I'll go back. They had an emergency come in that caused me to wait maybe 30 minutes which normally bothers me but they were all apologetic about it, which helps so much. I felt like being kept waiting wasn't the norm. So many places just act like 'how dare you expect to be seen on time, our time is what matters, not yours!' That wasn't the case here. I kind of wish there was a separate exit like some vet offices have, and a somewhat cubicled waiting area, since one of my dogs has an aggressive side around other dogs and is pretty large and scary looking. That's about my only suggestion. The rates seemed fair and I was happy that both I and the neighbor who referred me got a discount. Read Less

I had an urgent situation with my very old doggy. I was afraid he had a broken leg or even a torn ligament. Ouch! My regular vet, who is no longer my regular vet not only couldn't see him, but didn't seem to care. Someone I work with had recommended this clinic so I called and they got him in within an hour. Dr. Hansen examined my very nervous boy (he loved her, and he doesn't love just anyone) and he has a bad sprain. Got out for under 75 dollars feeling so much better. I have had 3 dogs in my lifetime. My current best friend is Pumba, an 11 year old pug, who thinks he is the toughest, biggest dog on the block... But in reality he is a spunky old wrinkly pug with a few nubby teeth and grumpy attitude ( too big for his own good). Mesa Northeast is the hands down, best vet I have ever had. Dr. Ainsworth has been so great with my first 3 visits and you can tell he just wants best for the dog. They don't try to upselling or charge you for unnecessary stuff. They are reasonable priced and he has personally followed up to check on Pumba after he had minor procedures done. Pumba has a tendency to cut his paws or split nails... Also did I mention Dr. Ainsworth does acupuncture too??Yesterday I had to go in for an emergency and Dr.Hansen was in the house. She expertly took care of Pumba and personally followed up as well. She was friendly and great with him too!Finally, I need to give a shout out to Ron. Not only is he a great guy and been there everytime I bring Pumba in, he is professional, courteous and fills in at the front desk much to my surprise yesterday. Seriously, where do I start? How about that we're not even patients there? That I didn't have an appointment? Or that I didn't even call ahead, but showed up in their office, lame dog in tow, asking to be seen?From Kelly graciously fitting us in to Linda's excellent attitude I didn't think it could get better. That was until Dr. Hansen came in and gave one the most thorough exams I have ever experienced. Sitting on the floor with my little guy as to 'not stress him anymore', to checking literally every joint in his lame leg (she was bending each toe individually, for heavens sake!), she was so kind and so gentle, I was absolutely blown away. And how about this- she didn't try to take advantage of our situation by ordering all kinds of labs and xrays. Instead, she felt pain management and watchful waiting would be a sufficient way to go (we'll reevaluate in 2 weeks).The icing on the cake was at check out. I anticipated at least $200 for an 'urgent' appointment and meds. Not only did Kelly charge us a normal visit, but gave us the first time client discount on top of that! I walked out less than $60 later, absolutely *thrilled* with my experience. How these good folks survive the long hours at these prices I will never know.I cannot stress how thankful I am for them seeing us last minute, giving us absolutely top notch service and at such a fair price! We were so glad to have our two boys neutered at Mesa Northeast Animal Hospital.  First, this hospital shares exceptional values and takes care of pets' lives.  They are consistent in organizing their surgery schedule.  They don't schedule more than two per day.  This policy is very important to me.Second, Dr. Ainsworth doesn't make the pets wait inside a cage all day for surgery.  I Appreciate that Dr. Ainsworth genuinely cares about them.  This eliminates the stress level.  He performs surgery in the morning.I just made sure that my dog emptied his bladder thoroughly right before dropping him off in the morning.  It's nice to know my vet pays attention to all the details for their safety and comfort.  We are very thankful to Dr. Ainsworth and Ron, the very helpful technician.  We highly recommend MESA Northeast Animal Hospital. We recently became foster failures and had to find a boarder and vet in a pinch we stumbled upon mesa northeast animal hospital and it was the best thing that could have happened to us and our dog Diesel Dr. Ainsworth was extremely caring and honest with us when our dog decided to ingest everything he could. I've even brought some stray cats in and they have gone above and beyond to help take care of them as well. They are budget conscious and offer some awesome alternative therapies like cold laser and acupuncture! I tried the cold laser for a partially torn tendon in my dog's leg. She had been on medication prescribed by a previous vet for years and after about 10 treatments she has been medication and limp/pain free for over a year!  I could on and on about how amazing they are! I previously went to this Animal Hospital when Doc Nowicki was the vet--he is also a friend of mine. Doc Nowicki highly recommended Dr. Ainsworth to me and I recently obtained services for my cat by Dr. Ainsworth. I inquired with him because my cat's gums were black and I assumed she had gingivitis and needed a cleaning. Dr. Ainsworth was quick to explain that blackening of the gums are part of the normal aging process for cats, however he discovered she had one tooth that had "tooth resorption" (very painful in cats and difficult to detect by the owner). I found Dr. Ainsworth was very thorough and spent plenty of time answering my questions and describing the procedure needed during the initial office visit. I returned to have one of my older cat's tooth extracted and was able to stay with my cat until she was given pain meds and ready for the procedure. Dr. Ainsworth took blood for labs prior to the procedure and was very detailed in explaining the labs to me. All the staff was wonderful and very friendly. Upon checking out, I found the bill to be less than the original estimate. I am very satisfied with the service I obtained and will not have my other cat's teeth and labs checked as well. Read Less

Dr Ainsworth spent an hour with my dog and I, going over many options for his arthritis. He is very knowledgeable, compassionate, and kind. He is not pushy at all, and listens to your neess. I just started taking my two pups to this vet, and am very happy with them. Dr Ainsworth spent almost two hours talking to me about various concerns I had with both my dogs, and he's very knowledgeable. Never do you feel forced into unnecessary procedures. Also, a plus is that he recommends some alternative medicines/procedures that might help instead of just pushing pills and harmful meds. I am the original nervous Nellie when it comes to my cat (Chewy) and veterinary care. Chewy has been so much better because Dr. Ainsworth was able to diagnose his problem and prescribe treatment. Thursday Chewy had a dental procedure with 3 teeth pulled. Despite my anxiety and thinking Chewy would be "the cat from hell" after the procedure, he did exceptional well. Words can't express how thankful I am for the staff at MNEAH. Dr. Hansen met with me the day before Riddick's procedure to go over all my concerns and explain things. Riddick is more than a pet, he's my therapy dog and best friend. Ron, the vet tech is amazing and very knowledgeable. When I picked Riddick up after the procedure, Ron showed me all the x rays and took me back to where Riddick was. I was able to ask more questions and get answers. Riddick only lost 12 teeth in the procedure instead of the whole mouth as originally expected. He was treated as though he was owned by an employee and I think that is what makes Mesa Northeast Animal Hospital so different. THEY TREAT THEIR PATIENTS LIKE FAMILY!! My first contact with him involved my very sick dog, Sassy. He helped her over a period of two months but, unfortunately, her illness was too severe.
