We took our boxer to VCA last Saturday. I would be giving this visit a rating of 5 stars if it werenβ¬t for Dr. Brian. Our boxer had collapsed and was unresponsive. They took him back as soon as we got there. We filled out all the paperwork. I know our dog was taken into ICU, it would probably be a bit of a wait, while they looked him over. We were moved to a room. Dr. Brian came in and asked us questions about our dog and his day. We gave him all the details. He then says to us, β¬You seem like nice people, but what you are telling me doesnβ¬t add up, to how sick your dog is.β¬ β¬he looks like he has been hit by a truck!β¬ We are already very worried and upset for our 4 legged family member, but, to be accused of mistreating our animal, was COMPLETELY, uncalled for. People who would do terrible things to an animal, wouldnβ¬t go to the emergency vet. We decided to do blood work. We waited for those results to come back. Again, had the opportunity to get feedback from Dr. Brian. He informed us, he has 21 yrs of experience and he has NEVER seen anything like this. We took the next step and did an xray. We waited for those results. Dr. Brian came back and told us it was clear. So, we left our dog so he could get treatment. We were able to go back and visit him before we left. I canβ¬t remember the womanβ¬s name, who was with Knuckles. But, I do want to thank her for being so kind to us and Knuckles. I donβ¬t know how, someone could do that job. The next morning, we get a call from a different vet. She informed us that she had looked at the xray and saw some abnormalities. She had done a 2nd xray and found that Knuckles had a blockage in his intestine. Yes, she looked at the same xray, Dr. Brian had. She went over our options without judgement, or accusation. We decided to put Knuckles to sleep. They had a special room where we could spend sometime with him. They were so great. Knuckles isnβ¬t suffering anymore, his pain is gone. I know ours will be too, as the days go on. But, the pain of having a vet accuse you of doing something terrible to our pet. That pain will be here for quite a while. If my other dog ever has an emergency, I will most likely call to make sure Dr. Brian is not the vet on that shift. Read Less
