I took my Yorkie in to be groomed, I pacifically ask for her to be cut a certain way, and the lady cut her way to short! She also cut her whiskers way to short! I won’t be taking her back there again! Read Less

Horrible! They hacked my poor dog up sooooo bad, I can hardly stand to look at her. Long weird chunked hair on one side of her body and short, short gauged out spaces on the other side. Totally uneven hack job around her face with weird long hairs here and there that were completely missed. She has holes all over her coat. We said, do not shave her, she's a goldendoodle but we love her shaggy look! What a mess. Do not go to them for grooming... EVER! Read Less

Beware if you plan to buy saltwater fish or corals here. ZERO return policy. When I was there on Sunday, 10/23, I purchased some soft corals. I noticed that the clerk was performing a water test, checking the specific gravity of their tanks. I glanced at the hydrometer and saw that the water did not even register on the scale of the test meter - the lever to indicate specific gravity was all the way at the bottom. I thought to myself, that's odd, maybe something wrong with their test meter. When I got the soft corals home, I tested the water in the bag with my own hydrometer, and got the same reading - didn't even register. SO these poor corals have been living in what is the equivalent of brackish water, and I now have to try to acclimate them to my tank. I did a drip acclimation for and hour, brought the SG up in their container, ensured the water was the same as what was in the tank, and then introduced them. They are still in shock 24 hours later, and having just called the store, I was told there is zero return policy. EVEN THOUGH their water and mistreatment of the corals is probably going to be the reason they can't adjust to my perfectly calibrated tank. I will never, ever shop at this store again and will tell everyone I know about this lame return policy - even when they know they are at fault for mistreating the corals in the first place. 10/29 - Update Called customer support for Petco. Spoke with an escalation specialist twice. She called this store, and they were supposed to call me to try and resolve this issue. The store has not called me. They told their own escalation specialist that they couldn't call me yet because they were having problems with their phones. Funny, I called them and spoke to someone just fine. So, the store is obviously trying to avoid me, because they know they are in the wrong, and refuse to make this situation right by refunding my money and admitting that they were the problem. I'll continue to call their Customer Support (because they too, like the store, never call me back when they say they will) until I have a resolution to this. 10/29 - Update 2 Called customer support again, they contacted the store again, and the store did contact me this time. Always have fun with our puppy at the puppy playgroup (Friday's at 6 and Sunday's at 3). And Jacob has been a lifesaver as a trainer. We tried books, DVDs and YouTube and failed horribly. When we had our first class with Jacob our dog wouldn't even come to us when called and currently after four classes does ten commands and is loose leash walking! Read Less

I've been researching all the local dog trainers to find the best one for my newly adopted, previously abused greyhound/lab? mix. While there numerous yelps on some of the sites of the privately owned spots nearby, if one looks at them carefully, they are clearly written by the owners. So, I thought, why not try Petco, it's convenient, and the prices are decent.  I signed up for classes yesterday. The trainer was there and spent nearly a half hour introducing himself to my petrified dog who came in shaking violently, and left wagging her tail.  In that short period of time we spent together, she stopped barking at men passing by (and hasn't barked or growled since then). She has never made real friends with any men in the two months since I've had her - although she puts up with my son - mostly she tries to drag me across the street when she sees one and I'm walking her.  She felt comfortable with the trainer after he patiently introduced himself.  In this short period of time I learned all sorts of things about dogs - and I thought I was pretty savvy to start with.  He gave me lots to tips of things I could do with such a basket-case, even before class started. What I also like is that my dog will be the only dog "in class" the first time, and there will only be another one or two dogs joining her for the duration of the time.  I highly recommend this Petco - (and the manager is quite nice, and approchable, as well)!. Came here to buy the same dog food I do every week and I'm never coming here again because a very rude employee started yelling at me when I was trying to pick up the dog food I was going to buy. He told me to stop doing what I was doing (when I was picking up the bag) in a very rude and demeaning tone of voice. If I could give zero stars I would. I would rather drive all the way out to orange grove and thornydale to get my dog food than ever come here again. Read Less

I decided to try the grooming salon, I have to have someone who's good with Rottweilers and after talking with the staff one day they gave me the name of a gal who is very good with this breed. I was able to get a next day appointment on Saturday! When I met her, she was very helpful and professional. My Rottie let her clip her claws  (She's particular about that) and she looked and smelled gorgeous! Unlike Petsmart, you can't get cash back when you go to pay for services and you can't put a tip on there,  so make sure you bring cash for a tip. Read Less

I come here to get fish for my pond- nothing else since I feel they are pretty expensive and don't offer the best selection of products (as opposed to online, for example).The fish guys are awesome- they will literally sit there for 30 minutes letting me demand which tiny little $0.29 fish I want from the tank of 4,586 other fish. Those little gold fish get massive in my pond...then the hawks eat them, but hey, for .29 I'm not going to complain. Very helpful staff- always friendly and happy to give advice.Side note: they do not have a cat groomer. I know this because I wanted my cat made to look like a lion and while I know spending $50 on such a thing is ludicrous, it wasn't even an option. Lucky cat. Read Less

After getting my dog groomed at expensive places, I decided to give these a chance since it was near my house.  Wow, these guys did a great job on my lab.  Smelled great, looked great, and he looked like he enjoyed himself.  Will keep coming back until they prove otherwise. Read Less

We get our pups groomed here all the time and their great with both pups; one's a senior and the other is pretty vocal and they both are well taken care of here. Friendly staff who are always helpful and kind. I've taken my pups to their discounted vaccination clinic too...decent prices and quick service. I highly recommend getting the petco rewards for great coupons and discounts. Read Less

I have their "rewards" card and they mail you discount coupons. They live plant selection for aquariums is sometimes better than Petsmart.  Also they will work with you if you forget to bring your coupon to the store ;) Read Less
