Absolutely love this vet! The staff is extremely friendly and the veterinarians are all very knowledgeable. I am always able to get same day appointments and the hours they are open seem like 24 hours a day (I am being sarcastic!) seriously though, they have days and times that should pretty much work for anyone. Their services are very affordable - cheaper than my last two vets. They don’t pressure you into unneeded tests or medications which is how all vets should be! I also take my black lab here to the groomer. Grooming is much quicker than if you went to Petsmart (where I went before) and usually have my dog back within around 2 hours. I chose this vet primarily because of the great Yelp reviews, so I was very disappointed in the quality of care my cat received. Neither the technician or the vet asked about his previous medical history - no questions about vaccines or even FeLV/FIV status. The tech handled my cat very roughly, dragging him around the exam table by the scruff of his neck. Taking his temperature was done even more roughly. I'm actually surprised they didn't injure my cat. I will definitely not be returning unless I can be certain that I have a different tech and vet. Read Less

This  is my first experience going to this Vet since I moved to the area.  The staff is wonderful and i got in same day.  My dog was very sick with what turned out to be pancreatitis.  They were very thourough and gentle with him.  He got excellent care while he was there for 3 days and on IV and they called me to updated me on test results and how my dog was doing .  I was allowed to bring him homemade chicken/rice once he could eat and spend time with him, we even went for a short walk outside and I think that helped a lot for both of us. The Dr even came in and talked to me and said I could have the room as long as I needed. They are very organized, professional and caring.  Very nice experience. Their costs are not cheap but they do offer an interest free payment plan. Read Less

Clean place nice front desk people. We went to this vet because they were recommended by some friends. We have an English bulldog that had some issues lifting his tail to properly use the bathroom. We decided to go to this vet since they have done my friend's bulldog in the past. We needed our dog's tail amputated properly, since it was not done correctly by the previous owners. The vet made it sound more a cosmetic thing and to exercise the tail and we'll just have to live with cleaning and wiping our bulldog's butt for the rest of his life. We continued to tell them we needed to get it done, they quoted us a ridiculous amount (Low end $1600 high end with neuter $2400). When this procedure for amputating his tail only cost between $700-$1000. The vet could not state what the risk factors were. We decided to have another vet look at it and we were told that his tail did need to be amputated and that it is a normal procedure especially with the English Bulldog breeds. If Fletcher heights did not want to do the procedure, then just say so. Don't quote a high amount so we wouldn't want to do it. I am grateful for the other vet that took care of our baby boy. No more issues pooping or wiping his butt! Read Less

We had no idea that she had been stung by a bee (or something like it), but the staff were quick to discover the root of her facial lump and even removed the tough to find stinger all while keeping our pup as comforted as possible. I have lost 2 of my childhood pets since being in AZ and both were put down at this vet, I had a vet back home for 13 years I went to her and then I moved out here. I love the staff and especially my vet! While it was hard to say goodbye to my best 2 furry friends, I did not feel rushed I did not feel like a bad person for doing what I had to do, not only was it hard on my heart it was hard on my wallet too. I'm so thankful for their programs such as the payment plan, without it my other animals wouldn't have been able to see them and get their shots. Another thing I do enjoy is the free vaccine for life program. It's amazing! I love this vet and if you are looking for a connection that is real and people that really care about your pets then this is the place to go, proud visitor of almost 3 years now. If you care about your pets the way I do...treat them with love and care like you would your own children...Dont you want to make sure your vet is the absolute BEST in his or her field? We moved to the area about a year ago and have seen many of the Dr.'s at this practice and have been very pleased.  We have had two very difficult situations to deal with and it has been heart wrenching but Dr. Cohen and Dr. Ketchem has been absolutely incredible! Dr. Cohen has called each time we are there to follow up, Dr. Ketchem is UNBELIEVABLE in the sense that his bedside manner, his warmth and caring nature has been like nothing I have ever seen before along with his knowledge and expertise.  I know Dr.'s get "desensitised" because they see so much, but these two....RARE GEMS in every sense of the word.  Yes I am an overprotective pet mommy but my babies didnt ask for me to be their mommy so its my honor to give them the best life I can and with Dr. Ketchem and Dr. Cohens expertise and help I know I can.  They have been wonderful as far as following up with the neurologist, the emergency vet med clinic and all in all so approachable and ALWAYS go that extra mile.I also want to point out how WONDERFUL the entire staff is there, they ALWAYS do what they can to work you in when its good for you and ALWAYS a smile on their faces and helpful...they are all absolutely wonderful!  Truly, if you care about your pets the way I do...YOU need to CALL them and make them your vet. They truly are g-d sents....What other vet do you know of that is opened 7 days a week with hours like they have???? With our four cats and a dog, we seem to always need to see the doc every couple of months. Each time I have to bring one of the kids in, I am treated with respect and compassion. As a prior vet assistant/receptionist for over 20 years, this is where you want to bring your fur babies.  We have 2 cats and 1 dog, and have been using them for years.  The front office will make or break an office, and this team will make it.  They are caring and compassionate, and will take the time to listen to your concerns.  The technicians are gentle and efficient.   We have seen all the docs, and they are great.  They each have taken time to listen to our concerns, and do a thorough physical exam every time.  We love Dr. Schneider for our senior cat, he is definitely a "less is more" when handling her, which really helps with reducing her stress.  All of the doctors give as many options as possible for treatments, and are not afraid to take the conservative route when an option.  I will say they may not be the "cheapest" clinic around, but I will tell you, they are by no means overpriced.  You get what you pay for, good care has cost.  It's gold when a doctor finds good staff.  If I was to go back to work tomorrow, I would be putting my resume in at Fletcher Heights Animal Hospital, it's the way a clinic should be run, and the environment I would want to work in. Do not take your pet here. The office has recently been renovated, so the appearance makes it seem nicer than it is. We took our healthy, active, vivacious 6 month old puppy here to get fixed. An hour after I dropped her off she was dead, before they even started the procedure. I was told 3 different stories of what actually happened, 2 separate versions by the doctor himself. He, himself said all of the doctors were in a meeting when it happened, and would never clearly tell me who was with her. In the hour that she was there, her heart completely stopped after receiving a blood draw. She was a 8 lb Borkie and after talking to several other vets, we were told that Fletcher Heights had us take her food away too early the night before surgery. Small dogs have very sensitive blood sugar levels and without adequate food, even prior to surgery, their hearts will stop. They had us remove her food @ 8:00 pm the night before and from what I'm finding that's unheard of for small breed dogs. Please keep your pets safe - find another clinic to take your animal to. Sadly had to say goodbye to a cat who started her life as a little stray kitten dumped in our neighborhood that no one wanted & exited as a most beloved member of our family. I've been going here since I got my puppy 3 weeks ago and I must say this place is better than any doctor's office I've ever been to. The facility is clean and doesn't smell bad (like other places I've been to), the staff is very friendly and involved, they take their time in explaining everything and make sure you have everything you need. They do not take a long time to get to your waiting room, and will show you how to administer medicines in a safe way to your pet. They also call in between appointments to check up on your pet. Bottom line is that this place is very professional and proficient, and I love them so far. They also sent a coupon in the mail which is awesome! Keep up the GREAT work fletcher heights! Read Less

My Beagle got very sick and lethargic. I called fletcher highs animal vet. They told me to bring him right in. When I got there the staff put me in a room right away and the doctor that treated my beagle was Chris Schneider. Chris took super great care of my beagle. Chris went over everything and saw that I was so concerned about my best friend. Chris made me feel a little better. The doctor Chris and his staff were amazing. The did lab work on my beagle sent me home with meds. But most of all Chris Schneider called me for three days in a row to make sure my beagle was doing ok. That made feel good. Stanley loves visiting Fletcher Heights Animal Hospital and I believe they love seeing Stanley despite him providing all staff in close proximity a tongue bath. I have always felt that the staff at Fletcher Heights is caring, considerate, and reasonable in their pricing. Nothing is pushed on the owner, however, as should be, benefits of services are explained. If you can't afford a service you want, they provide reasonable payment plans. They also cater to the local community by providing facebook notifications of lost and found dogs. Most recently, Stanley, though under the weather, greatly enjoyed (tail kept wagging) his visit with Dr. Schneider, Stephanie, and Heather. Really disappointing with Fletcher Animal hospital. Chose this animal hospital because of the previous good reviews on Yelp. Brought my puppy in because I suspected she had Giardia, which she has often. I called before hand to get prices for the exam and stool sample. Upon arriving, we waited at least 45 minutes to get in a room (they said they were getting it ready). The vet tech Stefan (who is awesome) sat in the waiting room with us and started the exam by asking us questions. We went in the room, waited some more, finally saw Dr. Venable for maybe around 4 minutes. She barely examined my dog. I brought in all her previous records and she still recommended I get more of the same vaccines my dog had received 3 months ago. In the end I was charged much more then what I was quoted over the phone (they claim someone new was answering the phone and gave me wrong answers). They pushed products on me and my dog that we didn't need. Never had a follow up with the results of the stool sample or to see how my dog was feeling. I had to call them many times. Will not be returning, already made an appointment to another vet in Scottsdale for he follow up. Definitely would not recommend. Read Less

I brought my sick cat in with some very specific requests- I had a fairly good idea of what was wrong with her (having been through this particular illness before) and knowing the treatment that had worked best for her last time she had this problem. I am new to the area and was searching for the right vet to help take care of her.The vet tech at the hospital was amazing; she was very caring and I could tell she knew her stuff. The vet whom I saw, though, left me with a very bad impression. He recommended all kinds of expensive tests that my cat did not really need (I had learned that from experience). Even after I explained to him specifically what I wanted, he really tried to push the expensive tests by giving me worst case scenarios. I honestly felt like he was trying to capitalize on my affection for my cat in order to make money.Long story short, I took my cat to another vet with my same requests and was listened to this time. She got the medicine she needed and is now healthy again. Had I listened to the vet at Fletcher Heights, I have no doubt she would have eventually gotten what she needed, but I'd also be down several hundred dollars in order to get her back up to snuff. The first time I went here was when I had to put my cat to sleep. It was late on a Friday night and they were closing but no one rushed me as I sat there and bawled. They were so caring.I brought my dog there and again, they were very caring and took great care of him. I love this place.  I have been to many veterinarians, but this place blows all the others out of the water.  It was hard to find someone that cares about my animals as much as me.  I came in because my cat was peeing on my furniture.  This was not the first time she had done this so it started to concern me.  They diagnosed her as much as they could before they ran tests.  They came in with a price sheet to let me know how much certain tests would cost and which ones were not necessary.  Some tests were just to have a thorough analysis of my cat.  I opted out because they were a bit pricey and if they were not necessary I did not want to go through with them.  They found she had a urinary tract infection and gave me medicine as well as some urinary OS food they sell there.  I have two cats so I was concerned the food might not sit well with my other cat.  They told me it would be fine and even helpful for my other cats digestions.  Well it has been a year and I haven't had any problems since.  I highly recommend this place.  They are very caring and want to help your little creatures. I had taken him to this vet clinic before, and had had a frustrating experience (the vet kept telling me that my very calm cat was stressed out). This same cat was having some issues with sneezing and coughing, so we had to take him to the vet again. We ended up with a different vet and a different tech. This tech took the time to keep our cat calm (even during the thermometer), and made sure that I was aware of the full process for my cat's treatment. The vet was very nice, and listened to everything that I said. The clinic was able to give my cat an antibiotics shot so I wouldn't have to give it to him orally, and the clinic provided me with support on how to give my cat the anti-virals without him spitting.  All of this was relatively cheap- only $140 total! Two days after the appointment the vet actually called me to see how the sick cat and the healthy cats at home were doing! I've never had a vet take that kind of time for me/my pets.They can be kind of pushy about services (cleaning cat's teeth, etc...), but overall, I think that they understand that sometimes there just isn't the money for it.
