Westbrook has cared for our animals for 18 years. In addition to our personal pets, they have cared for many animals we rescued during our years of fostering with the Humane Society. They have seen us through many difficult times and illnesses. Many of the rescued animals they cared for were in very bad condition, sometimes with bad injuries. They offered valuable counseling for the course of treatment for these animals. The doctors are very thorough in their care while also being caring and compassionate. They have helped us help a number of pets, both personal and rescued, on their journey over the Bridge, making the journey as peaceful and dignified as possible. I have seen staff actually in tears when a client has lost their pet. I would recommend this practice. They are good people. Read Less

This is the best vet office in the valley!! We have taken all of our dogs to them. They have the most amazing staff!! They helped us through one of the worst parts of having dogs. They truly care and love the animals they see. Brittany is especially our favorite! She is the most kind hearted person!! We have taken our dogs here for a couple years now. The Staff here is AMAZING! even when we had to put out puppy down for medical reasons they went FAR beyond their means to try and help him through it. Every doctor and nurse there is completely professional while still retaining that sympathetic nature that you need when your little fury family members are in need of care. We Usually have Brittany as out vet tech and let me tell you it doesn't get any better than that. she is so sweet and caring and all of our dogs light up when they see her! My sister had come home from work yesterday only to find her little dog had passed away sometime during the day.  By the time I got to her house it was well after 5 PM and my sisters normal veterinary office was way over in Scottsdale. (She used to live near there and is pretty loyal to them).  Without knowing where to turn I, of course, checked Yelp to find a clinic nearby where I could take poor little Olive. I called Westbrook and explained the situation to them. They were so nice and so kind and immediately suggested I bring her in to their clinic.When my mom and I arrived,  we spoke to Bridget, who is the most sweetest person ever. Bridget helped me carry Olive inside and was extremely compassionate and kind.  She helped us make the arrangements for saving Olive's ashes for the family and a little paw print keepsake.   I hope when the time is right, my sister's family will get another little dog and I will absolutely insist she take her new family member to Westbrook. My son died cause of u guys. You guys did his surgery and couldn't do a follow up on him without more money. We lost our baby cause of u n he wasn't even a year old.. how dare u say u care. When taking our two old lady rats to be euthanized after a long run of treatments in NC, Westbrook was curteous, thorough and friendly. I had brought their medical records to the appointment but I didn't end up needing to put up a case because they trusted my story. That made the experience a little less painful. I was given all the extra time I needed with them before I let them go. While the cost of urns was a little too much for two pocket pets, I did appreciate the Paws of Remembrance, with their foot imprints and names in a box and a flap inside with the Rainbow Bridge poem. So happy with our Vet. Westbrook Animal Hospital. The Veterinarians and staff are the most compassionate and professional people I have had the pleasure of taking our Furbabies to. We have been with them for about 3 years and every visit is a good experience for us and our dogs. Westbrook is amazing!!  Our entire family takes their dogs here...for everything from simple vaccinations, surgery on our Goldens legs and even for saving the life of our newest family member, 6 lb , 2 month old Mahou, our golden retriever pup.  We picked Mahou up from the person who was selling him and within 6 hours realized he was not well.  Long story short, he had parvo and without the great care given by the vet techs and doctors at Westbrook, he would not have survived.  They really went above and beyond the norm to help Mahou survive.  A less than 50/50 chance for our pup, became a success story.  The attention and care shown to us and our fur family is priceless.  Absolutely recommend them. I'm not one to write reviews but this place was truly amazing. My ferret got sick yesterday and I didn't have the money to take her. My boyfriend got paid today so we called here due to my ferrets health getting worse. They scheduled me for 3:30pm and I didn't want to wait that long because she was struggling to breath. About 5 minutes after I called they called back to tell me they could get me in sooner so I threw clothes on and left. A few minutes away my ferret passed. Hysteric and frantic my boyfriend ran in and they stopped everything to take her. They put us in a room and we waited. Shortly after they told us she was gone. They were so sweet and understanding. I'm having her cremated and they let me spend my time with her no rush. I will gladly be taking my other ferrets here to get checked out. They cared about me and my ferret. They aren't pricey either. Just spent close to $300 on my dog who ruptured a blood vessel in her ear.  They implanted a drain into her ear.  I just had her there 2 days ago because she is still shaking her head (which worsens the situation) and crying nonstop.  They said everything is fine and sent us home with pain meds.  Now her ear is swollen to twice its size again and she is crying in her sleep, won't eat, cries if you touch her AND THEY WON'T LOOK AT HER WITHOUT my paying ANOTHER office visit.  Do you think they care about their animals? I love Westbrook! We have brought both of our dogs here, with our little chihuahua being a VERY frequent patient there. Most recently, she and our our boxer mix were exposed to sago Palm. We of course freaked out, brought them in and Dr. Smith started them on a regimen that my husband and I were both comfortable with. They give you a quote before anything is done with a "high" and a "low" end. You are free to tweak it as you wish. We normally se Dr. Hummel but Dr. Smith was amazing and got our sweet pups started on the long road of healing!As for Dr. Hummel, he did a luxating patella and cruciate repair on our little chihuahua. The surgery failed and he waived his fee for a redo surgery and tweaked his surgery approach since it didn't work the first time. We're happy to report Ellie is doing so well almost a year after the surgery. The staff is top notch and making appointments is always a breeze. Not to mention they are open 7 days a week! Made an appointment was told $24. Was running late and called prior to appointment time and told could be 15 min late then called 1 mile away and told to still come, but there may be an increased fee for an emergency. Got there 2 minutes later and after pet was seen was charged $84.00! That is so wrong and what's worse is they only said $84 after I opted not to get medication there but rather requested scripts to take with me. That's just not right! Read Less

The entire staff is just wonderful from the time you walk in with your pet until you leave. The doctors are never in a hurry and are always ready to answer questions and help. You know your beloved pet is getting the best care possible. I had to take my son's small dog from Burlington to S. Korea to join her family. The procedures and paperwork was enormous. I was lost. Dr. Cates filled out the paperwork, did all the investigations to make sure we had it all done correctly, and just helped me get all the things done. Both the "doggie customs" people in Atlanta, as we left the US, and the Korean "doggie customs" when we arrived said the same thing to me. " Your Dr. Cates has done the most thorough job of getting all of your dog's paperwork in order that we have ever seen. " Usually there is a hitch and hold up and a dog may even be delayed entering. I really can't say enough about Westbrook Animal Hospital. From the front desk staff to the Vets, they are the most caring and compassionate practice my family has been to. They are professional and they make time to explain everything to you in language you can understand. They were truly exceptional when my daughter's cat Alvin had to be put to sleep because of kidney disease. They gave us time in the exam room to say our final goodbyes. The doctors are friendly but the PRICE are ridiculous HIGH one star i give is because last time i was there two days before they put a strong medicine on my english bull dog back. for two days my puppy didnt eat or get up from his bed and he peed blood i took him back and told them that the medicine gave him this  side effects they charged me for the visit and the blood work for something they caused i dont think it was fair i changed to pet lovers and friendly doctors and less than half of the price they are too EXPENSIVE. Today we had to say goodbye to my TV buddy of 12 years, Ginger... Took a perfectly healthy cat with a good appetite to Westbrook Animal Hospital to have a tooth he broke two days ago removed and and hour after I dropped him off they called to say his heart stopped beating after their tech (not a doctor)  administered injectable anesthetics before pulling the tooth. I don't recommend them obviously for anything to do with animal surgery. He was a unique cat with a one of a kind personality and will be missed.I took the post-op report which listed the three pre-op anesthetics and the dosages they said he was given to another vet. I was told they would have used the first two drugs in the given dosages but said the third was something they would normally use if the first two weren't sufficient. The first two also were able to be reversed with other drugs, but said there is no reversal drug for the third one he was given. The cat had previous surgeries to have him neutered and de-clawed in the front with no issues. So draw your own conclusions. I'm just presenting the facts. Read Less

Called needing to have my litter of 8, 8 week old Bernese Mountain Dog puppies vaccinated and explained i could pay more than half but not all and was told that would be fine and that we could set up a payment plan thank god for this clinic as no other vet would help me with my situation they all just wanted money and didn't care about the welfare of my puppies. Dr. Hummel is the most friendly, exceptional veterinarian I've taken my pets to. Out of all the veterinarians I've seen in the last 30 years in different states, Westbrook Animal Hospital far exceeds them all! Not only is the entire staff so friendly and helpful, the animal hospital is clean--and I cannot say that about prior hospitals my pets and I have visited.
