After relocating from the east coast, I found Deer Creek Animal Hospital via referral from a friend who had taken her two dogs there when she lived near their office. From the start, I've been pleased with both the veterinary care and the grooming services. The prices are reasonable, the vets and techs take their time in speaking with you, there doesn't seem to be a huge effort to "upsell" as I experienced a lot in the Washington, D.C. area, and they always call to follow up after any medical-related visit.
Initially, I was taking only my then 14-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix to their office for check-ups, but then I got a Labradoodle puppy in July 2015. He turned out to have a nasty parasite that traveled to my older dog and Deer Creek Animal Hospital did a great job of diagnosing the issue quickly and prescribing medication to rid both dogs of the parasite. They always listened to my concerns and thoroughly answered all my questions.
Over the course of the last two months, I've also begun using their daycare services 4-5 days/week for my younger dog (a now almost 1-year-old Labradoodle). To me, the real testament regarding the way the dogs are handled for daycare is the fact that my dog practically drags me through the side door each morning when I drop him off. If he wasn't being cared for properly or was suffering in harsh conditions as some have alluded to in their reviews, I sincerely doubt he'd be so anxious to be dropped off each morning. I've also spoken with many other customers there who regularly use Deer Creek for daycare and have been very pleased with their services.
Recently, I toured a portion of the facility as I will need to board my Labradoodle for ~ a week. While there was understandably a lot of noise in the cage area (dogs obviously get excited when someone new is strolling through their territory), I found both the boarding areas and outdoor daycare areas to be very clean.
While I hate to leave my pup for any amount of time, I feel better all day knowing he's in the hands of people who all know his name (and have a little fun with his unfortunate first name/last name combination, often calling him "Hah-pa Pah-ka" - Harper Parker with a Boston accent) and seem genuinely happy to see him each morning. In the one instance where there was an incident at daycare (Harper was a bit of a klutz and turned his head too quickly away from another dog, smacking his nose into the side of the building), they called me promptly to notify me of the occurrence and then talked to me and patiently answered my "worried mom" questions when I arrived to pick him up.
Without hesitation, I would recommend Deer Creek Animal Hospital for veterinary care, grooming, daycare and boarding services. Read Less
