I have been using this Vet for 20 years, the location in Ahwatukee. I’ve taken all my pets here dogs and cats. Everyone is so caring. LaRue at the front desk is so kind and sweet, always very helpful! All the docs I’ve seen through the years are wonderful. I started with Dr Olsen who was wonderful but no longer there. Sad to see him go but I now see Dr Sarah Derksen and Dr Carla Mott who are just as wonderful! Both my dogs have had issues with bladder stones and have had to have surgery and care by both Dr Derksen and Dr Mott. They have been amazing and I’m so grateful for their care! Dr Derksen has helped my dog with pain management as well. He has a hx of traumatic injuries and she has been able to keep his chronic pain to his leg and back under good control so he can stay active. In addition, although it’s never easy to say goodbye to a pet this office has always been very compassionate and supportive with my past pets that had to be put to sleep. Everyone here has big hearts, so much empathy and support. They really care about your furry family. ❤️

We have known Doctor Travis for many years and began going to Family Vet Care years ago. We cannot say enough about how great the entire staff is no matter what your pets needs are. They truly act like your pet is part of their family and are not just treating them as a number like we have experienced with other vet clinics. I can't even handle going to this vet anymore. It's ridiculous how they are always trying to make a buck. It's like going to an auto shop, they give you extra things that you don't actually need to have done. For example, my dog was prescribed expensive medication that is only for chronic or severe ear infections; I was informed by my friend who is a vet technician that saw my dog that same day that my dog's yeast infection did not require something that severe. My dog would have been fine with the ear ointment/procedure alone (which she received). Also, why does my dog need a $34 cytology done when it's her first ear infection? It was evident by looking at her ears that she had an infection and needed treatment.It's also annoying how they add shots, bloodwork, pills, etc to the bill without even discussing it; they just hand you the bill to sign with it on the bottom and casually mention that they will do that today too. Needless to say, our three pets will be looking for a new vet.

We have now visited this practice a few times with our dogs. This seems more like a service selling business than a vet office. During our visits they pushed meds and services on us for our dogs that were unreasonably expensive. After spending a few hundred dollars on the first visit and meds that did not help we had to go back again. On our most recent visit the vet was out the door as soon as her recommendations came out her mouth. My husband asked for quotes for both recommendations which seemed like a huge inconvenience. After it was pointed out some discrepancies between the 2 quotes the vet was rambling to come up with answers why the same service costs twice as much on one quote verses the other. Disappointing, very frustrating and very expensive visits for 3 out of 3 visits.

I found Family VetCare after adopting my dog from Maricopa County and receiving a card for a free exam. I had previously been to a few other veterinarians in the Phoenix area but had never found one that I felt comfortable with. That has all changed. I have been taking my pets here for over two years and will not take them anywhere else. The staff here is incredibly compassionate, the facilities are clean and well maintained and the quality of care is second to none. With my crazy schedule and need to have random day/time appointments, I have seen all of the doctors at Family VetCare but always leave feeling like the doctors have known me and my dogs for years! Thank you for all you do doctors and staff of FVC, you guys rock!! Highly recommended to anyone looking for a vet to call their own!

If you're looking for friendly workers and excellent care, definitely come here. My dog and I moved down here not too long ago and he needed his shots updated. This place is right down the street so i brought him here and definitely am glad i did. Sulley saw Dr. Mott, who was so nice and gentle with him even though he was really scared. I also liked that when I told the technician that there were things they wanted to do for him that I just couldn't afford, she was very accepting and didn't make me feel bad about it like some places have in the past. When i can afford the other things that were suggested for him, i will definitely be back here.

I have not liked this place in the past, but they were on the list for a free vet visit for a rescue I adopted. Well, guess what. The appointment I made wasn't on the books when I got there. I rushed all day to get off work early to be there. Megan, whom I spoke to on the phone, was originally going to book me on Saturday, but was so accommodating and thought we should get her in as early as possible, so we settled on Tuesday. No appointment. And then they wanted to know when the 10 days were up. Then tried to book me in the morning, after I just said I have to get off work early to get there for an evening appointment. I really wanted to get my little dog seen, and was thinking if this went well, my other dogs could be seen there as well. I don't think they want to provide the "free" service, and they obviously could care less about my business.

I was pretty new to the area and searched around for a place to take my dogs. I found Family Vet Care and couldn't have been more pleased!
One of my labs had a bad ear infection and they were both due for a check up anyways. I took them in and sure enough...horrible ear infection. The doctors looked and even showed me how bad it was so I could better understand. They then took time to show me how to treat this specific infection. My dog was back to normal within a couple weeks. Such a relief! Then they followed up with me to make sure I understood but more importantly that my dog was feeling better.

I have been using this Vet for 20 years, the location in Ahwatukee. I’ve taken all my pets here dogs and cats. Everyone is so caring. LaRue at the front desk is so kind and sweet, always very helpful! All the docs I’ve seen through the years are wonderful. I started with Dr Olsen who was wonderful but no longer there. Sad to see him go but I now see Dr Sarah Derksen and Dr Carla Mott who are just as wonderful! Both my dogs have had issues with bladder stones and have had to have surgery and care by both Dr Derksen and Dr Mott. They have been amazing and I’m so grateful for their care! Dr Derksen has helped my dog with pain management as well. He has a hx of traumatic injuries and she has been able to keep his chronic pain to his leg and back under good control so he can stay active. In addition, although it’s never easy to say goodbye to a pet this office has always been very compassionate and supportive with my past pets that had to be put to sleep. Everyone here has big hearts, so much empathy and support. They really care about your furry family. ❤️

We have been using Family Vet Care for just about three years. They have been so kind and compassionate and quite assisting in many situations. We have three rescues and we love our girls with all our heart. All of the veterinarians and staff treat our girls with the same love and respect every time we enter those doors. We have known Doctor Travis for many years and began going to Family Vet Care years ago. We cannot say enough about how great the entire staff is no matter what your pets needs are. They truly act like your pet is part of their family and are not just treating them as a number like we have experienced with other vet clinics. Dr. Travis clearly has the knowledge, training, expertise, and understanding it takes when explaining what is going on with your loved one. I can't even handle going to this vet anymore. It's ridiculous how they are always trying to make a buck. It's like going to an auto shop, they give you extra things that you don't actually need to have done. For example, my dog was prescribed expensive medication that is only for chronic or severe ear infections; I was informed by my friend who is a vet technician that saw my dog that same day that my dog's yeast infection did not require something that severe. My dog would have been fine with the ear ointment/procedure alone (which she received). Also, why does my dog need a $34 cytology done when it's her first ear infection? It was evident by looking at her ears that she had an infection and needed treatment.It's also annoying how they add shots, bloodwork, pills, etc to the bill without even discussing it; they just hand you the bill to sign with it on the bottom and casually mention that they will do that today too. Needless to say, our three pets will be looking for a new vet.

We have now visited this practice a few times with our dogs. This seems more like a service selling business than a vet office. During our visits they pushed meds and services on us for our dogs that were unreasonably expensive. After spending a few hundred dollars on the first visit and meds that did not help we had to go back again. On our most recent visit the vet was out the door as soon as her recommendations came out her mouth. My husband asked for quotes for both recommendations which seemed like a huge inconvenience. After it was pointed out some discrepancies between the 2 quotes the vet was rambling to come up with answers why the same service costs twice as much on one quote verses the other. Disappointing, very frustrating and very expensive visits for 3 out of 3 visits.

I found Family VetCare after adopting my dog from Maricopa County and receiving a card for a free exam. I had previously been to a few other veterinarians in the Phoenix area but had never found one that I felt comfortable with. That has all changed. I have been taking my pets here for over two years and will not take them anywhere else. The staff here is incredibly compassionate, the facilities are clean and well maintained and the quality of care is second to none. With my crazy schedule and need to have random day/time appointments, I have seen all of the doctors at Family VetCare but always leave feeling like the doctors have known me and my dogs for years! Thank you for all you do doctors and staff of FVC, you guys rock!! Highly recommended to anyone looking for a vet to call their own!

They took amazing care of my dog Beau, they walked me through everything as far as their plan for him, also they weren't pushy per say like most. What really grasped me was how much for a friendly family environment it is as well, if you are ever looking for a vet and not worry about how they treat your baby Dr Mott is amazing and I would recommend her and this vet to anyone.

We just got a new puppy and tried taking her in for a visit, I called and made an appointment on Monday for Thursday and they were able to squeak me in today due to a recent cancellation. Very professional and friendly, and the vet answered all my questions. We now have a permanent vent! Thanks!! I highly recommend, Doctor Mott was perfect!

If you're looking for friendly workers and excellent care, definitely come here. My dog and I moved down here not too long ago and he needed his shots updated. This place is right down the street so i brought him here and definitely am glad i did. Sulley saw Dr. Mott, who was so nice and gentle with him even though he was really scared. I also liked that when I told the technician that there were things they wanted to do for him that I just couldn't afford, she was very accepting and didn't make me feel bad about it like some places have in the past. When i can afford the other things that were suggested for him, i will definitely be back here.

I have not liked this place in the past, but they were on the list for a free vet visit for a rescue I adopted. Well, guess what. The appointment I made wasn't on the books when I got there. I rushed all day to get off work early to be there. Megan, whom I spoke to on the phone, was originally going to book me on Saturday, but was so accommodating and thought we should get her in as early as possible, so we settled on Tuesday. No appointment. And then they wanted to know when the 10 days were up. Then tried to book me in the morning, after I just said I have to get off work early to get there for an evening appointment. I really wanted to get my little dog seen, and was thinking if this went well, my other dogs could be seen there as well. I don't think they want to provide the "free" service, and they obviously could care less about my business.

I was pretty new to the area and searched around for a place to take my dogs. I found Family Vet Care and couldn't have been more pleased!
One of my labs had a bad ear infection and they were both due for a check up anyways. I took them in and sure enough...horrible ear infection. The doctors looked and even showed me how bad it was so I could better understand. They then took time to show me how to treat this specific infection. My dog was back to normal within a couple weeks. Such a relief! Then they followed up with me to make sure I understood but more importantly that my dog was feeling better.
