A few months ago I spent over $500 to have my senior dog worked up. I thought I was established at this point. I called at 1pm and requested to be seen. My dog has a bad ear infection and it looks like a growth in his ear. The posted hours are till 7PM. I was told there were no appts. So, a sick dog could not be seen within 6 hrs. No one could take 5 minutes to evaluate him. I’m an RN and am totally shocked at the lack of concern for my dog or any other animal that needs a doctor. Totally unacceptable! Will find another Vet. Thus is the second time I'm trying to write this message. My little cinnamon was only two years old.  I knew he got hurt when he was little, but I made sure he ran and played well. I will try not to make this too long, but I could tell he wasn't feeling well in june. He got better, but all three times I brought cinnamon in they always blamed it on being a chihuahua.  The second to the last time before I had to put him to sleep,  Dr Sean Penn was very rude and talked down to me. We took him home after dr. Said it was a nervous stomach.  We went back a few hours later. Without X rays Dr. Penn pushed down on my dogs back so bad, he never walked again. unfortunately it was a bad experience for me. i will make this nightmare short. i brought my baby in who was only two years old and i knew he had a bad back when he was little, he was hurt. He ran and played and was so happy. i knew he didn't feel good so i took him three times to the vet. Because of the kind of dog he is they blamed it on his personality. Dr Sean Penn was so unprofessional, pushed so hard on my dogs back, no xrays, well he never walked again. These guys are great! It took me about a year to find a vet here in AZ that I trust. The team is friendly and they schedule well. I've only used this vet for 6 months but a lot happened in that time. Dr. Ferguson was my main vet and I really liked her. She emailed me as soon as she received results (6am! She emailed because she said it was to early to call, which it was but I thought this was really awesome. I wanted to know the details ASAP.). I called once or twice and Dr. Ferguson always called me back. I never felt like they were pressuring me to do anything, which is something I always worry about at vets. I also saw Dr. Harbo once and liked her too. The techs are really great (especially Jamie, I think?? Really honest and down to earth). Sadly I had to have my cat of 13 years put to sleep and I feel like they handled everything the best way possible. Dr. Quandt did the procedure and I felt like she did a great job. About a week after, I received a condolence letter and cat pin. It was a nice touch. I always felt like my cat was in good hands and didn't worry when she had to stay a couple of nights. However, I am unsure if their pricing is the lowest in Phoenix. I think they are fair but I did spend probably $1500-$2000 on my cat in the 6 months she was sick. They are the best vet clinic ever! I have a new 11-month-old puppy, came from a county shelter, extremely traumatized. Dr. Ferguson sat on the floor with him, made him as comfortable as she could, fed him treats, and had her best tech come in to clip his nails. Probably spent 30 minutes with the dog for routine office visit and the vaccination, All because she really cares about dogs. She's been my vet for 15 years or more, and always will be. Read Less

Brought my pug here because this place was highly recommend by APARN pug rescue. Dr H was amazing, she knew a lot about the breed and i feel very comfortable leaving my baby in her care. The office staff was really friendly. They called a few days later to make sure my baby was okay and to answer any questions I had afterward. Their rates were very reasonable. Read Less

Two years ago, I had to bring in my sweet kitty that I had recently rescued and only had for a few months. I had noticed he was becoming lethargic, eating/drinking less, acting melancholy and I was worried. I brought him in to Four-Legged Friends and was immediately met with warm greetings and friendly smiles. Dr. Ferguson helped me and was so good to my boy...she said there was only a 50% survival rate for him as he had developed liver disease. In the same breath, she told me she would do everything she could and would help me do what I could, since I didn't have a lot of money and keeping him there wouldn't have been possible. She gave me advice, food, meds, fluids to take home and either she or Dr. Carey called each day between office visits to make sure he was doing well. Two years later, and you'd never know he was so sick that he couldn't even walk. I owe so much to FLF and I couldn't begin to say thank you enough for giving me back my boy. <3Read Less

I have taken my two cats to Dr. Ferguson for over 16 years. I have also taken my dog to Dr. Ferguson for almost 8 years. All of my pets have received absolutely the best care at all times. Dr. Val and her staff are extremely caring and compassionate. I have lived in Phoenix all of my life and Four Legged Friends by far is the best animal hospital and veterinarian I have ever met. Dr. Ferguson has given one of my cats an additional 3 1/2 years to his life and he is still doing very well. When our other cat became suddenly ill with cancer she gave us extra time with her as well and was with us every step of the way during her last days. The compassion and care is beyond words! I showed up on time for my appointment, waited for 30 mins. Then I was told to go into the room and fill out papper work. When I asked "how much longer after that?" the lady got all mad at me and said "how would I know!!??!!..", lol. A yeah I left.
