The best bet for dogs that I have found in the Valley. He really keeps up on the latest medical research. He explain what he wants to do and why. He created a plan to help with my dogs allergies to make her more comfortable and to save me money. Other vets I have been to only want to get the most money out of you. I took our dog there last month and he had to get put to sleep.  Not only were they kind and gentle with us and our dog, today I received a plaster paw print with his name in it from them.  I have never had this kind of compassion from any vet that I have gone to in the past and this is the only place our animals will go from now on. We were referred to MVAH and Dr. Lisa close to 25 years ago...  Our dogs are a high-risk breed, with multitude of health issues.  We have taken all eight of our dogs, as well as my grown sons take their dogs to them.  They are highly professional, and have saved some critically ill dogs for us.  They have also held our hands while our best friends have left us... their concern and compassion is invaluable.  Dr. Lisa, Dr. Les, Amy, and the rest of their staff are outstanding.  I highly recommend them, and would never trust anyone else with their care. On June 15th I called to inquire about euthanasia & was told that in addition to the regular cost, there's an extra (& significant) charge of you want to stay in the room with your pet during the euthanasia. I called around & not only were most vets cheaper but they were appalled at the idea of a vet charging an additional fee for an owner to be in the room with their pet. I feel like it's awful to make a pet owner consider leaving their pet alone during such a sad & scary time because of an additional cost. It's just mean & heartless. If it's a legit fee, why doesn't any other vet charge for it?! Read Less

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!!  I have two Pomeranians; one is 8 months, Emily, and the other is almost 12 years old, Lilly.  Dr. Les recently took care of my baby, Emily, she was a hermaphrodite.  This was a complicated procedure, but I was never worried.  He was so confident, knowledgeable and caring.  Little Emily underwent a complete hysterectomy, hernia repair and removal of a "penis-like" appendage.  That was three surgeries!  He was able to do all of this at one time, so she didn't have to be under anesthesia more than once.  I am happy to say that little Emily is doing great.  I had consulted with another surgical specialist, but Dr. Les gave me more confidence and I knew he was the one for the job.Dr. Lisa is outstanding.  She has cared for Lilly for years, and now we have Emily.  Watching her interact with my little ones, is as if they were her own.  She remembers everything and will ask about how Lilly has been since we lost Gypsy a couple of years ago.  There is no one else I trust as much, for her expertise, compassion and ability to "think outside of the box".  She gets to know you and your little one, and knows that what may work for one dog owner might not work in your house.  You can see the kindness in her eyes and in her hands as she examines your precious baby.I have been coming here for years, and I want everyone to know that this is the only place to bring your furry kids.  I love my girls more than anything and I drive from North Scottsdale to see Moon Valley Animal Hospital for everything.  Your are in good hands here, the entire staff cares about you and your babies almost as much as you do.Thanks Moon Valley Animal Hospital! Small little place that's tucked away but don't let that stop you, there's a great bunch of compassionate, caring and knowledgeable people working here! From the front desk to the techs, right up to the husband and wife veterinary team, I've been made to feel as if Ive been coming here for years with my two mastiffs. We absolutely love this place. We have tried others because we live so far away but the 20 mile drive is well worth it. Never do we have to worry about them padding the bill or suggesting unnecessary procedures. From the time we walk in we know our pets are in good hands. Without a doubt, best vet I've ever been to! The prices are low to average and the entire staff cares! The office/examine rooms are always kept clean and welcoming. I really like this place - the staff are wonderful and the vets are kind. They are great with scheduling and I rarely have to wait. I have 3 dogs and they let me bring 2 for their exams, then drive home to get the 3rd and do all my billing at the end.  I once had a dog emergency while I was home with a migraine. I don't know how I drove there (luckily it was close) but when I got there, the receptionist could tell I was in a bad way. She took me and my dog into an exam room right away so I could lie down, and she did all the paperwork from there. The vet was also really cool with talking to me while I was lying down. :) And she was able to diagnose my dog's seizures. I've taken my dogs there for 3 years now. Read Less

My cat of 11+ years developed an eye infection. Just moving to the area I found Moon Valley Animal Hospital online. The staff was very kind and gentle with my cat and put me to ease it was allergies that is easy to treat. I called in advance and explained my cat is frightened of cages and dogs. I'm writing this for two reasons, #1, it is clear that "V Wyndham"'s review is ridiculous. It doesn't take any medical training to see that their complaint is absolutely absurd. It's just not within the realm of reasonably plausible. And when I looked at this person's other reviews, it became even clearer that this person has a habit of spending money on things that they don't really understand in the first place, and then makes it out like they are somehow a victim. I say all that because I've been coming to this vet since 2007. I have never had a bad experience. Over the years they have treated all five of my dogs. They are not the cheapest out there, and no one really likes to pay bills like these, but the care and service I get from them is well worth the fees. They are very professional. The facilities are nice and clean. They are always honest about options, and the bottom line is all of my dogs are healthy do in large part to the advice I get from them. I don't write reviews often, but when I read this negative review, I felt I needed to respond in some way. I recommend them to everyone I know with pets, and you can be confident that you will get quality care for your pet here. Read Less

This place killed my pet . The lack of knowledge at this place is mind numbing at best. This place nickle and dimes you to death. The best is when the vet told me that if the procedure wasn't done before she left for the day, that i would have to take my pet someplace else .  Not to mention over 8 non returned phone calls. Spent a ton of money with these folks - all they wanted was more. whenever our pet had a complaint - they immediately said it needed surgery which was in the thousands. Found a new vet after the 3rd pet they said needed expensive testing or surgery and we had them examined for the same problem and all three did not need any testing or surgery but cured with simple diet and medication changes. Stay away from them - they will suck ya dry and put your pet through junk by seeming nice and concerned. Read Less
