The Veterinarians are very knowledgeable here. I pretty much had a class on the care of my sick kitty and was educated on the behaviors of dominate cats in the household which can cause undue stress on sick cats. The Vets are thorough and they make followup calls to check on kitty and handle any problems quickly, unlike many other Vet offices. A+ Read Less

VCA Phoenix West is the BEST! They are a small animal hospital with the biggest hearts. When our Dachshund died, they stayed late so my husband and son could say goodbye to her. They did not hurry us, but sat and cried with us. They sent us a card, a remembrance of her, and a copy of her paw prints. What really impressed us was they sent a donation to the Humane Society in her name. Months later, we brought our new Mini Dachshund in to the office. We purchased the care plan and established him as a patient. Dr. Marian Ansems is warm, caring, and very thorough. She has taken the time to explain what is important to do and give him as he grows. Wonderful place. Should have been bringing my dogs here long time ago. Vet is very helpful and willing to share any information on our dogs. Our dog is allergic to grass of all things. Dr. Houser was extremely helpful and informative. She was patient and kind and did not rush me and handled a very sensitive issue with my dog Reggie who recently was diagnosed with signs of bone cancer. She was compassionate and really just listened to me. The way she spoke and lended her advice brought peace to concerns I was battling with. Thank you to all the friendly staff at VCA that made my first experience with this office more than I could have asked for. Real, honest and reasonably priced. We have been bringing Harley to this clinic since he was very small. Small enough to set him up on the counter. Now hes 80 pounds. The staff here is amazing! They genuinely love him and he loves them. One of the staff members seen that he was comming in for a check and it was his day off, but he came in just to see Mr. Harley. How sweet. We love the fact that we can bring Harley in for "happy visits" too. He's never been afraid to go to the vet because he knows they are his friends. The staff there is very caring and wonderful with him and we also love the fact that they have care packages for him. It makes it a lot easier to manage his care and helps to know that he is being extremely well cared for there. When they have any procedures there, the Dr will call you and let you know how he is doing and is very caring and helpful with any concerns that you may have about your pet or anything else your pet may need. If you're looking for a really good veterinary clinic for your dog or cat I HIGHLY recommend VCA Phoenix West Animal!! They have a plan (adult dog plus plan) which is 55$ a month and it covers my puppy getting chipped, spaded, multiple vaccinations, a dental cleaning, lil gifts, and so much more it's actually crazy how much the plan covers. Also the staff was really friendly my pup isn't an adult person she prefers kids, but she loved everyone there. She was scared to be somewhere new but quickly became comfortable. The people explained what and why they were doing what they were doing, and educated me on things I had NO idea about. They're so amazing and sweet I'm putting my other puppy on the plan too cause it's really really worth it. So thankful I went with them my lil Faith loved all of them!! Read Less

Do not see the Vet Colleen Salmon. I can not speak for the other Vets at this clinic. The staff was nice. I took 2 1/2 yr old Chihuahua in because she was sick. The information I received from Colleen was limited. She did not look in my dogs throat. She muzzled her which was unnecessary and seemed cruel to a sick dog that never shows aggression and didn't prior to being muzzled. Colleen told us our dog was dehydrated but gave us nothing and did nothing but have her tech write up a treatment plan. The worst part of this all is my pup died at 2:30 that morning. Does this Vet really care about pets or just $ and a treatment plan. Save your pets life....go somewhere else.Read Less

May not be in the prettiest part of town, but i am so so happy i came here! I spent all morning calling different animal hospitals comparing prices on a surgery for my dog (obstruction in small intestine) not only did they have the lowest price, they took the time to call me back and let me know they could do the surgery that morning. It turned out my dog did not even need the surgery as i was led to believe by a doctor at emergency care (they just wanted my $$). i let Dr Houser know how i felt, and she listened! she didnt press the surgery, because it was clearly not needed right away. And i am so thankful for that! I strongly recomend this place! She sent us home with the things we needed to care for my dog and happily answered all questions. She was so kind! She was exactly what i needed after being told my choices were surgery or putting my pup to sleep. My dog is now at home back to normal, and its scary to know i was an inch away from paying for a surgery that was not even needed! I really cant thank Dr Houser enough. The fact that she cares for the animals more than making our bill higher really does set her apart from others. Other doctors can be nice too, but this lady is an angel. PS. After reading the reviews about them being money hungry, i know it must have been a different doctor. So to be safe, I recomend Dr Houser. Read Less

****Let me warn you: I went there for the first time because my dog didnt seem like him self.. I had scheduled an appointment because I was told it would be faster, but it wasnt. After almost an hour of waiting for the doctor to examine my pet she ended up diagnosing my pet with regular "allergies" like a little cold and then the bill came.. she wanted me to pay for THEIR USELESS MEDICINE, really! Just unnecessary medicine my dog did not need! It came out to almost 350.00.. the exam its self is 58.00.. I ended up buying the medicines that seemed the most helpful for my doggy.. but he seemed to have gotten worse from it! THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR PET ALL THEY WANT IS MONEY, MONEY, MOOOONEY very money hungry.. I will neverrrrr everrr recommend this place or ever go there again. Read Less
